Yeah sad news about aviccii Was literally given 10 seconds on itv news just now (don't know if it is because it's just breaking) but it felt a little disrespectful considering he is arguably one of the biggest artists of the last 10 years
Don’t know how you expect them to produce a report for a completely unexpected death in like 20 minutes??

In the year 2046, the Robinson family and the spaceship Jupiter 2, one of several Jupiter ships, encounters a rip in spacetime and crashes on an unknown planet. Stranded light years from their intended destination, the Robinsons and other colonists marooned with them battle a strange new alien environment and their own personal demons as they attempt to leave the planet.
It is a remake of the 1965 series of the same name which was also influenced by Swiss Family Robinson.
It seems to be getting a big push by Netflix with TV adverts and posters, so I feel like they've spent a lot of money on it! However, the reviews have so far been quite average. Can't say I'm that interested as of yet but are you??

This has allowed me to rewatch the series for the first time since it all aired! Just finished The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith (aka the one with the 10th Doctor) and it made me realise that the Trickster trilogy is really brutal on Sarah Jane, she has to relive her best friend dying, her parents dying and then have her potential husband die!!
It has made me realise more than ever what a brilliant actress Elisabeth Sladen was, truly missed <3

There have been 7 series of The Voice UK. In terms of solo releases, The Voice UK contestants have had a grand total of 2 top 10 singles - both covers - and 2 top 10 albums. The last artist to get a top 10 album was Andrea Begley, back in 2013.
There have been so many incredible acts on the show through the years - Bo Bruce, Vince Kidd, Leah McFall, Stevie McCrorie, Mo Jamil...then there is Kevin Simm, who had success before he went on The Voice UK. His lack of success after the show (his album missed the top 100) can't be down to the artist, surely, as he has a proven track record. So what is the point of the supposed "coveted record deal", when it doesn't even equate to 5000 album sales for most of the winners?
You’re right, it’s because the record label seemingly give them a tiny budget, which means they come out with music that makes no sort of statement whatsoever. Kevin Simm was incredibly talented on the show but his lead single was just some random album track anyone would fail to recall. They need to invest and hire good songwriters and producers because the material that is coming out at the moment is so forgettable that I’m really not suprised its being glanced over.
The only time a single from The Voice act has actually stood oit (aside from Becky Hill) is Leah McFall’s Home but for some unknown reason Radio 1 decided not to support. The fact Radio 1 has only supported one single (again aside from Becky) from The Voice is ridiculous, and even then, the single (Worry About You - Tyler James) was the second single AFTER the album had already flopped due to a lack of support. I will never understand why they didn’t get Radio 1 to support the relevant Voice acts when it was on the BBC. If you make the acts successful, you can have a more successful show! I remember at that stage as well they were supported any and every X Factor act.

Watched The Austere Academy and The Ersatz Elevator and part uno of The Vile Village so far!!
SO good to have all these books adapted! I genuinely this is one of (if not the) the best book adaptations I’ve seen. It continues to stay very loyal to the books whilst expanding on the mythology which is certainly what I’ve been waiting for all these years!!
The Ersatz Elevator has been my favourite set of episodes so far, I think they played on the whole Esme in/out thing brilliantly, I loved how they got a limousine for two houses down and then to go from the Herring to Cafe Salmonella
Carmelita was a great actress too, she played such an intense character brilliantly and Principal Nero was PERFECT too.
I was a bit worried about Lucy Punch basically playing the same character from Motherland but her
role as the policewoman in the Vile Village
has convinced me otherwise!
Very interesting to see Olivia Caliban appear so early, I wonder how they’ll tie it in considering
she is meant to own the carnival, I see from The Vile Village that she is being sent there so very intrigued to see how it plays out!!
i can’t get over how much this has not disappointed and even exceeded my very very high expectations considering my huge love for the books

Starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, Killing Eve centers on two women: Eve (Oh) is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade MI5 security officer whose desk-bound job doesn’t fulfill her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle (Comer) is a mercurial, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. Penned by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) and based on the novellas by Luke Jennings, Killing Eve will follow these two women, equally obsessed with each other, as they go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.
It has been getting very good reviews and will be coming to BBC One later this year! It has already been renewed for a second season too!

This was a very solid season, not as good as the first OF COURSE but certainly better than the rest of the Netflix-Marvel world.
There was a lot of focus on all the characters, with their characteristics certainly pushing all the storylines. I thought Jessica and
her mums
relationship was REALLY good and well played and particularly how Jessica was
stuck in the middle between her and Trish, making it very cruel (and very shocking) for Trish to be the one who kills her mum. After seeing how her mum was on the way to redemption (although she would never be fully 'good'), it really was quite a shocking moment. Will definitely change things for Season 3 (if there is one) but I did like having that strong bond between the pair.
I do agree that they kind of pushed Trish too far to be unlikable, they kind of destroyed her from the character we'd previously seen in Season 1! (can't get over how they could only think up one line for 'I Want Your Cray Cray')
Jessica is such a great character though and I love her relationships with everyone else.

This feels so much better already, feels a lot better produced and more polished. I liked the little shots where Greg & Dotty were sitting on stage watching Years & Years and then Snow Patrol watching Halsey. Ditching the guest presenter also helped it feel better. And the films were also more interesting and less cringy/pointless. Plus, I wasn’t too keen on Dotty last time but she felt waaay more comfortable this time round and gave a lot of energy to the show.
I hope it becomes a mainstay of the BBC schedules, whereas would an artist like Halsey (big artist but unknown amongst UK audience) have a shot at peformimg on primetime?

BAFTA nominated Jane MacDonald omg, Channel 5 will be having a field day and rebranding to Channel Jane.
That Stormzy Love Island nom is so cringy and desperate. It’s like they wanted to nominate Love Island because it was one of the most talked about shows last year, and it helps bring the attention of the yoof but there wasn’t a standout moment so they picked Stormzy to enhance that yoof attention because its what the kids are into. How can anyone say that Stormzy giving his opinion to some people is a must see TV moment??
Very happy for the Black Mirror, The End of the f***ing World (very shocked at any nomination, nevermind the prestigious DRAMA category), Taskmaster, Carastrophe and Line of Duty love and particuarly pleased for the Motherland recognition! And Sian Gibson who is AMAZING in Car Share.
wtf at Celebrity Hunted being nominated though rather than the normal show :/

Inspired by the Lounge thread, when you’re watching your favourite show on DVD, streaming services etc, do fast forward/press skip intro when the titles come up for the 35th time?? Or are the titles part of the experience? (or make for a v quick toilet break)

Well it isn’t exactly a good look for the show when one of its judges is basically stating he can’t hear the singing...
...not that he judges on the singing anyway
Any changes won’t do anything anyway, the show is in the position it is in now partly down to too many changes in too few years. It just needs to find out a way to stablise at a solid ratings level.
Artists that Radio 1 refuse to play
in UK Charts
I agree that Noel Gallagher is a suprising omission, I think he should be playlisted.
Poor Marina is now snubbed after Power and Control had a vaccum of support.
