Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams is a sci-fi anthology series of ten epic, ambitious and moving standalone episodes, each set in a different and unique world – some which lie in the far reaches of the universe and time and others which are much, much closer to home. While the stories may be worlds apart, central to each is the poignant and warm exploration of the importance and significance of humanity.

Each episode is inspired by one of Philip K. Dick’s renowned shorts stories and has been adapted by an exciting list of leading British and American writers and directors. The series also features an all-star roster of cast who head up this thrilling, audacious and emotional journey into the far reaches of imagination.

Channel 4 are seemingly looking to replace Black Mirror with a new sci-fi anthology series, based on the works of Phillip K. Dick. It has some MASSIVE names starring in some of the episodes including Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Terrence Howard (Empire), Timothy Spall and Vera Farmiga alongside many, many others!

  2. This was an interesting watch, although still not completely sure what the medical woman with the child was expecting? I can maybe understand the guy's intentions a bit more as he probably thought he could cope with it when in reality he couldn't.

Quite a brutal watch in parts though, obviously given the subject matter, but great Channel 4 drama! They really outshine ITV for me.

What is Zara playing at? 'Uncover' is starting to slay worldwide and 'Lush Life' is incredibly poor. 'Weak Heart', 'Rooftop' and 'Carry You Home' were incredible singles. This is by far her worst so far. I'm guessing this could grow on me but at the moment I'm not very impressed.

  4. Yeh the only changes were of course Prue/Noel/Sandi & the adverts and it was the adverts that were the most disappointing part even if I recorded it to fast forward them!

I do miss the originals but, as long as the format stays the same and the baking is good, it seems as though it doesn't really matter! Sandi was the best for me out of the new team whilst Noel wasn't as jarring as I expected even though I still find him a random addition! It was a great decision to add the extra 15 minutes to ensure that nothing is cut out, it would really feel quite rushed if it stuck to an hour.

As to the actual contestants, it looks like we hopefully have some tough competition after last year was slightly more underwhelming. The showstopper round in particular was one of my favourites that I've seen, a genius idea and brilliantly executed overall! The pancakes and champagne particularly looked brilliant, as did fhe watermelon when it was cut into!

Feeling quite proud of myself because I predicted who would leave right from when his cake design was unveiled from the signature challenge :kink:

In other actor who plays a Stark in Game of Thrones starring in BBC drama news, Rillek is a new drama coming soon to BBC One!

Written by Harry and Jack Williams (The Missing, Liar) Rellik (killer spelled backwards) tells the story of a serial killer in reverse. The perpetrator is caught before the drama moves backwards in time to the very beginning – the crime itself. The search for the killer provides the backbone of the story but the damaged and disfigured Met detective Gabriel Markham (Dormer) is at its center. Enigmatic, unrelenting and charismatic, Gabriel is propelled in an obsessive hunt for the killer who left a mark on him both physically and mentally. Gabriel’s partner is Elaine (Balfour). She is a bright and intense detective, eager to please. Cast also includes Rosalind Eleazar (Christine), Paterson Joseph (Isaac), Paul Rhys (Patrick), Michael Shaeffer (Steven) and Lærke Winther (Lisa).

Sounds really interesting, especially with it coming from the writer's of The Missing. I will forever praise the second series of that! One of Us from last year (by the same writers) was a slight misfire but still a really engaging watch, this looks like it has a better premise so I'm hoping it will be better overall too!

Very excited to watch! It's that time of year again where the BBC is full steam ahead with excellent dramas.

  6. The amount of discussion that Darius requires can easily be put into one thread where all the current Darius members can post in. He's not active enough/nor is there enough about him to sustain a forum no matter how hard the true Darius stans can work. You can keep arguing about how he's in a musical with Sheridan Smith but that's all he's doing now and how much can you talk about a show that is the same thing every night and is something the members will only be seeing once?

No one is saying that the Darius members should leave the site, just that their discussion can easily be carried into one thread where they can continue to happily post and talk about all things Darius related. It works for many, bigger, artists and it can work for him too.

  7. Well we've made it! Tonight sees the first episode of Series 8 air, the first on Channel 4 and the first with Prue, Noel and Sandi (instead of Mary, Mel & Sue).

Despite the new line-up and the new channel (and the addition of adverts), it does look very similar to what we're used to, with all three challenges remaining and an extra 15 minutes added to make up for the adverts.

Will you be watching? When will be the first mention of a soggy bottom?

  8. Not sure what I think of this season! It's obviously going to be one of (if not the) hardest task to start to wrap up such a gigantic story and to do it without the original source that the series was based on.

It has been great to see all the characters finally coming together (particularly with Jon, Daenerys and Cersei all in one scene!!) however that has led to much less focus on each character's individual journeys/storylines which I think is the main reason why I feel a bit odd coming out of the season. It is certainly delivered the most epic season of TV I've ever seen though with so many glorious set pieces and moments. I do sort of side with the criticism though that the characters we were left with for this season are all the big 'safe' characters where there's no real risk of death until the final season where anything could happen. I do also get the teleportation/timing issues, more in the fact that the White Walkers have taken FOREVER to walk such a small distance when Jon Snow can go all around in one episode. Although, if they were waiting on a dragon, that might make a lot more sense. I would rather have this whole 'teleportation' thing though because there's limited time left and I just want them to get on with things!

It has been a huge moment in TV and certainly sets the final season up to at least be the most visually spectacular thing ever seen on TV. There is a lot of burden on it though to end it satisfactorily and, however they do it, I'm sure it'll be disappointing!

The ending of the last episode though was spectacular. You knew it would be coming but my jaw was still wide open as we realise the kingdom is truly no longer safe! (i did laugh at the Night King riding the dragon though!!)

The BBC have unveiled the trailer for their new three part drama, Gunpowder, starring Kit Harrington (aka Game of Throne's Kit Harrington - announcement is very timely -_- )!

Gunpowder explores the true story behind the legend, including the fact that it was not Guy Fawkes but Robert Catesby who devised the plot. This fast-paced 17th century thriller delves into the history behind the plot’s evolution, the selection of the team to carry it out, the gathering of the resources, and the obstacles they came up against. It follows both the gunpowder plotters and Robert Cecil, the spymaster-in-chief of King James I whose network of spies pursues them in a cat and mouse game.

The series will also star Liv Tyler, Mark Gatiss, Peter Mullan, Tom Cullen, Edward Holcroft, Shaun Dooley and Robert Emms. It is expected to air on Saturday nights in late October.

  10. My signature is more apt than before.

omg i miss my Gemma Collins listening to Anti sig. :(

The OG in making Gemma Collins a meme.

  11. 31-35

    31. All My Lovin | 7.36 Highest: 9 (Cremey), 8.5 (Noahspike), Lowest: 5 (Klaus)

    = Stay Down | 7.36 Highest: 10 (Cremey, Noahspike) Lowest: 6 (360Jupiter, Klaus), 5 (HarryEzra)

= So Far Away (with Wilkinson & Stamina MC) | 7.36 Highest: 8 (HarryEzra, 360Jupiter, Davidson), Lowest: 6 (Cremey)

= Honey (Outro) [with Novelist & Geeneus] | 7.36 Highest: 10 (Cremey), 9 (Klaus, Noahspike), Lowest: 5 (HausofKatyB), 3 (HarryEzra)

    35. Why You Always Here | 7.19 Highest: 8 (Davidson), Lowest: 7 (HarryEzra, 360Jupiter, Liam, Cremey, HausofKatyB, Klaus)

Katy's debut finally loses another song with Why You Always Here which mainly got 7s apart from an 8 from Davidson and a 7.5 from Noahspike. Probably one of the biggest examples of where everyone actually agrees with each other! Next we have a four place tie!! Honey (Outro) deserves to be higher though, it's a beautiful ode to music and I think both Katy and Novelist have wrote some great lyrics for it. It's a fantastic way to close the album. So Far Away is another song to fall from Honey and this is a Wilkinson collab & therefore a drum n bass track! It is good but I would say its in the right position here. Stay Down is another deluxe track from Little Red and is another example of Katy slowing things down a bit. All My Lovin is far too high! It's one of the ultimate filler tracks for me and the weakest on Little Red, just a bit dull!

  12. She's capitalising on Sarah's CBB stint/win with this. An advert for this single came up as a suggested post for me on Facebook and I clicked to see why and it said she's trying to reach those interested in Celebrity Big Brother
  13. I'm guessing it might be coming at a similar time to last year so late October/November?

INCREDIBLY hyped though and so happy to see it continuing/growing to get the attention it deserves!

USS Callister looks very different to usual, can't ever really comment though as they always subvert your expectations!

    USS Callister

Starring: Andrea Riseborough, Andrew Gower and Kiran Sonia Sawar

    Hang the DJ

    Directed by: Tim Van Patten

Starring: Georgina Campbell, Joe Cole and George Blagden

    Metalhead

    Directed by: David Slade

Starring: Maxine Peake, Jake Davies and Clint Dye

    Black Museum

    Directed by: Colm McCarthy

Starring: Douglas Hodge, Letitia Wright and Babs Olusanmokun

more big names there! Particularly excited for Georgina Campbell and Maxine Peake!

  14. Sarah is a producer's ultimate housemate. She's the most famous in there and she was the most entertaining/prominent. That means that she's worth her higher fee and she's a guaranteed finalist.

She's definitely not what I was expecting and I think it was the completely wrong environment/show to go into. She went in there to get rid of a public image that people didn't really care/know about and came out with a much more damaged image. She would have been better off going on Strictly or something. I'm not a psychologist or therapist by an means AT ALL but she really does exhibit quite childlike behaviour, even when she was crowned winner and during her interview. It's odd to watch.

I wasn't really bothered about any of them winning but Sarah probably did need it the most, especially as I feel like the adjustment back to real life will be a lot harder for her than maybe most of the others.

Amelia was too consciously on the fence, Sam was kind of playing a game with the showmance thing and was COMPLETELY over the top with the 'Jam' thing that it just felt forced, Derek is just someone I cannot get behind because of his career, Chad seemed all too reality TV knowing and Jemma is just Jemma.

Overall, it wasn't a classic series by an means but it was possibly my favourite summer CBB. I'm normally completely burnt out by the time it comes to the third series of the year but I thought there were an interesting selection of housemates this year and a greater allowance to let things happen naturally by the producers (at least in the first half).
