  1. Why does every single episode end with Andy's comments in the diary room, it's getting very tiring and repetitive.

Surely it will be a double tomorrow? There can't be EIGHT people in the final unless there's a surprise eviction on Sunday? I guess they haven't put the usual finalist things on the housemates faces.

  2. The trash has literally been taken out

Shocked that Evelyn managed to survive but I guess she was the one in the Bottom 4 who just survived! Very happy with that result though, especially when I thought it would be Laura who would leave out of those three. Whatever I felt about Jason before tonight though has been completely destroyed after that derogatory accusation, it's as though he was trying to paint Ryan as a massive villain and him being the hero by evicting him. He surely knows that any hint of someone being derogatory (normally) creates a massively negative response in the public's eyes.

  3. Stats on the Facebook likes and Twitter retweets for each photo of the housemates ahead of the eviction tonight:

First Dates has turned into a monster of a hit for Channel 4 and it's not hard to see why. Even though the format is the same each week, with four blind first dates being focused on, each date brings new interesting angles. The people that are 'cast' are often really engaging and you find yourself rooting for each date to be successful apart from those where you can tell immediately that there's no hope there. The use of interviews intercut with the date allows the format to shine as it really helps you to get to know each individual and the slow reveal of information prevents you from possibly pre-judging them and you get to hear stories about their life/personality that you may not have expected. The show isn't exploitative and you can tell that they do want the dates to work out and that is part of the show's charm. It's great when they invite some of the initially unlucky people back as well for further dates.

Currently a celebrity version is airing, with Scarlett Moffatt (Gogglebox) appearing tomorrow. Esther Ranzthen was on last week and I thought that the date was going so well but apparently she didn't want to take it further after he made an off the cuff comment about her 'advancing years' which I thought was a real shame.

As someone who is about to start to be in the process of having numerous job interviews, I went into this with a mix of hope that it wouldn't scare me off and a hope to take some notes on the right and wrongs of interviews!! While it's maybe not beneficial for the latter, it was still really interesting and it was good to see the interview process from the employer's perspective and, in the first episode at least, you could understand completely why they made the decisions that they did. There were a few cringeworthy moments but, like First Dates, I think the style and the intention is to cringe with them rather than exploit them for entertainment purposes.

I'm looking forward to the other episodes and I hope that the interviewers and the applicants are just as interesting. All I can say is that I wouldn't want to be filmed for my job interviews!

  8. I think the only person that I could say was 100% safe tomorrow is Hughie and probably Jackson. If Alex survives tomorrow, he'll definitely be Top 3 in the final. It's just so annoying how many people will vote purely on looks, I would like to think Alex is in danger but I'm sure the housewives will be out in force.

Sam is a certainty to leave and probably Evelyn. I think the third person will be between Laura & Ryan, with Laura probably going.

  9. Confirmed to end on Tuesday 26th July, lasting only 50 days and the joint-second shortest civillian series in the WORLD!!

About last night's episode, very funny that Ryan does a 'serious' Diary Room chat after he found out he was voted the least genuine.

I've also noticed how Andy uses the Diary Room a lot, similar to how Chris did in Power Trip. Even when he got engaged, the first place he went to was the Diary Room rather than telling his fellow housemates. Not sure if it's a tactical move to ensure more screentime and imposing your thoughts onto the viewer or it's just a way for him to talk seriously.

    xx Andrew [15]

I really don't want to put all the girls as the highest but it's hard not to! Alex and Sam are non-entities, Ryan is so fake, Chelsea is vile, Jackson needs to stop with his gangsta talk, Andy comes across as too self-important and I like Jason but I am left wondering whether he is playing a game or not. I wasn't too keen on Hughie's selfishness last night either and his lack of standing by his decision.

Lateysha and Jayne are the only ones who have rarely put a foot wrong for me. I am liking this new Laura but I'm still finding everything she says as insincere and same kind of goes with Evelyn.

They are an entertaining bunch and the majority of them aren't horrible but it's hard to root for most of them.

  11. I do get Alex's point because it means that the same people always get the 'punishment' and the same people get the reward because they're basically more selfish as they'll always moan if they don't get the reward. I think Hughie & Ryan were ridiculous in their choices and were entirely selfish in their decisions, they should have just sacrificed three people for the pool/food/music.
  12. Really need Chelsea to go, his ego wouldn't be able to fit in the house if he survives this week.

Gutted at the fact that housemates are deciding who is evicted, it's my biggest issue of the past couple of years as some of the best moments of the show come from the fact that the public may get behind who may not actually be liked in the house.

  15. That was just bizarre but completely representative of 2016 in people getting offended by the smallest of things. Maybe Andy might have had some ground if it had been two straight people joking about being engaged as if you try hard enough you could infer some mockery but there was clearly no mockery present with Hughie & Ryan, it's good that they are able to joke about it. They should celebrate that they are able to joke about it without the threat of being stoned to death.

HOWLING at Alex's family time being 10 seconds long and part of an earlier segment :')

  16. You would have thought that this was in big competition with Love Island or somethin  God Andy's boyfriend is annoying though, who did he think he was trying to chase after Jackson? Jackson had only known him for a minute!

Jayne: I'm upset because they've only shown my meltdowns. *Big Brother shows another meltdown*

I know everyones said it but I genuinely keep forgetting that Alex is in there. God help Emma when it comes round to his interview, it'll just be 'What is your opinion on this housemate?'

  17. I knew it was coming but I'm gutted at that result. Georgina definitely did have a bad week but if there wasn't those relationship struggles, she would have been an amazing housemate. I do think she brought something different to what we've seen before and I think she is a really sweet person underneath it all.

It was a shame to see both Georgina and Evelyn's reactions to being in the Bottom 2, it enforces the fact that these are real people and it must be horrible to be in that situation. Obviously social media people are normally idiots anyway but there were quite a few people on Twitter when I searched #bbuk that were saying Evelyn's panic attack was attention-seeking and fake.

On a side note, I've given up watching BOTS aside from on Fridays. It's just become a waste of time, especially when they keep wheeling out the likes of Jake Quickenden, that one from Union J, Vogue Williams and random TOWIE extras every week and letting them cling on to the tiniest bit of relevance they may have. I liked seeing and hearing the opinions of old Big Brother housemates so I don't get why they're only having one per week (aside from Nikki Grahame)

  18. Apparently it's breaking that the series will be over by the end of the month (i.e. there's only 4 weeks left) which I guess explains the "eviction massacre" week. Shortest regular BB series ever if that's the case surely?

Yeh, apparently Channel 5 have confirmed this and it will indeed be the shortest one! :( Makes it awkward that they had the most housemates ever on launch and it gives them 4 weeks to get rid of 15 housemates with no midweek evictions like CBB! Obviously ratings come into play, they're only slightly up on last year (which had already created warning signs) and that's even with all the money spent on the second house/new set. It may be that they want to avoid clashing with the Olympics. Bit of a shame really but it's still contracted for two more series

  21. I knew I shouldn't have said anything! I don't mind a couple of twists every series though, as long as they're executed properly although I don't have high hopes for that, especially considering the handling of the two houses. I'm still pushing for the idea of using the other house as an eviction danger zone, so maybe that is what the week involves. I can kind of see why they're doing a mass eviction anyway as there's 15 housemates to get rid of with like 5 weeks left.

I just hope there's not another cash twist even though it's probably guaranteed.

  22. I've been looking over the Twitter the past week and Jozea and Paul seem even more horrendous on the live feeds, they genuinely think they're going to win the game and are going to be incredibly famous when they come out yet they the only season of Big Brother they've watched is BB16. Apparently they're always looking at the camera to put on a show and they're saying that they are getting all the airtime. They're just awful.

    CmDHiMmWYAAD2C7.jpg

Also, people seem to be thinking that this year there will be a pre-jury returning player rather than post-jury. I guess the producers will just decide depending on who leaves though. I just hope that when Jozea/Paul leave, they're gone for GOOD.

ALSO, apparently Paul is the only one without an alliance
