  3. Something people may be interested in, we know that Pixar films have lots of 'easter eggs' in them (hidden things that feature in numerous films, or certain references to other films) but here are some examples of a few that you may not have seen!

  4. That was so obviously a set up though. I'm sure the fact that the act changed as soon as Cowell pressed his buzzer was not a coincidence. The same applies to the "boyband". Both acts were good though as were the Ukrainian Light Balance. Does anyone know when it was recorded? The Ukrainian act seemed to get sympathetic applause simply for being from Ukraine but the current situation only really blew up in February.

    Belfast - 18th Jan

    Cardiff - 22-23 Jan

    Birmingham - 1-3 Feb

    Manchester - 7-8th Feb

    London - 11-14th Feb

So yeah, basically before it truly escalated.

  5. To be fair, people rate to put their favourites up the top of the chart and sometimes want to affect the results so that films that are massively popular get taken down a bit. No harm in that imo...

There is imo, as it then isn't reflective of your true feelings. Does it truly matter where peoples favourites place? I'd be more interested in seeing the true results. If something is popular, there's no need to mark it down for that factor.

  6. It's not as though people have issue with him saying it's bad, it just looks like a clear way of making his favourites higher. It's often seen throughout this board and it's something that annoys me. I often find myself questioning that if something wasn't so popular would it really have scored a '0' or '-1'. Rates are just a bit of fun and obviously the results of them don't actually mean anything in terms of how percieve anything but it spoils the enjoyment when things are marked down just because they are popular. It's why I often don't give out many '0' or '-1' as it is rare that something is truly terrible that I'm not interested in it at all. Even songs that i express hate on here for still have some redeeming features no matter how small.

If reasons had been given or a score between 1-5 was given, I probably be willing to accept his preferences but, with him also marking the second film a 0, I really don't believe that he's marking them down for anything other than to let his favourites higher.

  7. In any rate across the forum, I'm not particularly keen on giving a '0' or '-1' unless I really don't like it or I just don't 'get' it depending on the situation. In this rate, I gave a 0 to The Fox and the Hound and that was because I watched it quite a few times when I was younger but I'm sad to say that it bored me everytime and it never sticks in my mind.

  9. I don't understand the release strategy with this album. They held Air Balloon as far back as they could so any initial hype well and truly vanished but then they've done the complete opposite for Our Time but that should be, realistically, peaking in about 3-4 weeks time. That's a month before the album is released :drama:
  10. 05 Elyar Fox 'A Billion Girls'

    01 Kiesza 'Hideaway'

06 Meridian Dan feat. Big H & JME 'German Whip'

Just going off pre-orders as I've only heard Kiesza's song

  11. Posted

I've posted this in Lily's album thread but I also thought it would be good to post in here:

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Allen said that Gaga should be "commended" for staying true to herself. "If she's not succeeding commercially because she's standing by what she does as art, then that's a f**king great thing," she explained. "That's to be commended. That's what makes a martyr. There's nothing wrong with that."

So, is this the true reason for Artpop's underperformance?

  12. She's praised Lady Gaga for staying true to herself and creating music she wants to make:

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Allen said that Gaga should be "commended" for staying true to herself. "If she's not succeeding commercially because she's standing by what she does as art, then that's a f**king great thing," she explained. "That's to be commended. That's what makes a martyr. There's nothing wrong with that."

And then goes on to speak about the single choices from Sheezus:

"I would love 'Hard Out Here' to have been a single, but you can't have a song that has the word 'bitch' in it 72 times on the radio," she explained. "I would have liked to see 'Sheezus' as a single, but it's not up-tempo enough. "It's also got the word 'period' in it," added the 28-year-old, "which is really offensive to people, even though half the world has to deal with it once a month. "I'm proud of that [though]. It's f**king awesome. I think that 'period' is going to be my 'surfboard' with Beyoncé. People will wear sweatshirts to my concerts that are just going to say 'period'."

And then she's gone on to say this:

The 'Our Time' singer admitted that the way the release of her upcoming third studio album Sheezus has been handled has made her want to go it alone.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Allen revealed that she began to get frustrated when her label insisted she release the new tracks under her maiden name. "I wanted to come back as Lily Cooper, but the label just weren't having it," she explained. "They were like, 'No, you're Lily Allen'. "They freaked me out and convinced me that it could be a massive contributing factor to my failure, so I was like, 'Okay'."

When asked about her future in music, the mother of two - who previously called her record label's single choices "rubbish" - confessed that she wishes she had "more control" over the release process. "I just want to get [my next album] done as quickly as possible so I can get out of my deal," said Allen. "Not because I want off my label. I just want to have more control. I want to put things out in the way that I want. I feel like I know my fanbase better than they know my fanbase. I communicate with them every day. I set it up on MySpace. I saw how it evolved and how it worked. I wish they would let me do it in my way."

"What I'd like to do is team up with a hedge funder," the 'Air Balloon' singer continued. "They could help me pay to get the record done, and I could just give it away and then go on tour. "People used to go to a Rolling Stones concert and if you were really f**king lucky, they'd play a song that no-one had heard before. "You don't have that anymore. Everything is so meticulously thought-out and market-researched. It's why everything is so f**king boring."

So basically she's criticizing the industry for not allowing her to do what she wants/make the music she wants to as it all revolves around marketing and sales which I agree with to be fair but it's not something that can really be changed if you are wanting to be in the charts. If you're not bothered about success, then yes, there's no need for marketing etc.
