Yeah the worst part of the Circle is the constant fake flirting and the boyfriend/girlfriend created after one private conversation. I might check out, especially as I’ve not enjoyed the US version as much.

I read that he made a challenge to write a song every day and this is the result of a 13 day writing session where he did that. This is the prologue and then another album is coming out presumably next year. I’ve not listened to the album yet but I definitely haven’t been anywhere near engaged with the singles sadly. Hopefully the second album is the ‘main’ album.

The next episode won’t be picking up directly from the regeneration in The Power of the Doctor as that’s being dealt with by… the Doctor Who Magazine comic strip for the next few months On the one hand it’s good that RTD continues to be so supportive to the other mediums of the show but it just feels odd that the show itself won’t be dealing with the immediate fallout of the Doctor regenerating into a previous version of himself!

Disney is bringing the £££ The reported budget for the next series is £10m per episode, up from the current £1-3m. That puts it on par with the first season of The Crown which, at the time, was the most expensive show ever made. Obviously there's inflation and there's been loads more big budget tv shows since that have even knocked that figure out the water but it's incredibly impressive to see it on more of a level playing field after 60 years of being the underdog. The lower budget has of course always been part of the charm, and some of the best episodes (Blink, Midnight) are essentially zero budget episodes, but it's so exciting to see what the show can still do!

Two days into the RTD2 era and we’ve already got a new (or rather updated) logo and an announcement that the new series will stream on Disney+ outside of the Uk! The Doctor is now a Disney Prince/Princess @1584903857888526338 Ncuti alreadg doing some promo as he went on US TV to make the announcement and has also filmed this video: @1584907779843665920 I’m so here for this new era. It feels like the buzz will be BACK and it will be the big brand again. There’s no reason why it can’t be in these times of big franchises.

I actually jumped up seeing just David Bradley as the First Doctor, nevermind all the others. My heart is so full :heart: A brilliant way to bring them back, especially the scenes with Tegan and Ace. Loved the cameos at the end too! I mean the episode as a whole was certainly a ride! I was expecting an absolute mess but I think it was more polished than I expected. Tegan and Ace were the biggest standouts but I also love Sacha as the Master too. I did also get very emotional with the Doctor/Yaz scenes at the end. Both were really fantastic and I feel Jodie & Mandip’s own sadness about leaving really came through. My biggest gripes are just my main issues with this era as a whole. The companions are just given no agency and are so reliant on the Doctor. This was Yaz’s biggest moment to shine and she still hardly said anything and is reliant on the Doctor AI. The writing is just so frustrating because Mandip is giving the limited role her absolute all. I don’t understand why Yaz is the best person the Doctor has met but won’t let her stay with her for the regeneration! And then Dan just given the most briefest exits of all time, swept under the carpet :lol: Another gripe is just how so many ideas with lots of potential are raised throughout the era and then are just never explored. I can’t believe Fugitive returned again for just another 30 second. Especially rubbing it in this time going, “that’s me done then x” I know the intention of the Timeless Child was to add more mystery but I don’t understand the point of introducing it and then hardly doing anything with it after it’s been revealed. It just renders those episodes as more shock value then an actual narrative arc. My third and final main gripe of this era is the Doctor being used as an exposition machine. Show us, then don’t tell us. Interestingly, I feel all those are the three elements that RTD excels so very much looking forward to what’s next. Don’t know how I feel about David being 10th and 14th Doctor but I’m very much here for the ride. Just can’t believe its so long to wait
