  1. I was actually thinking about this a few days ago - based on the success of their previous singles I think this has a chance of going to number 1 but it seems a more likely top 3 hit to me. And if it follows their usual pattern, only two or three weeks max in the top 10. I do hope that the B.o.B feature actually helps this to do well - if not, it will annoy me even more that they've done this collaboration. I hate rappers and their meaningless features on otherwise good songs, and I'd actually consider buying this if not for him, as he pretty much ruins it for me. It's still a good song but as usual I believe it'd be better without him, and I fail to see what led them to collaborate with him (although as I'm aware, Andy did mention wanting to do a song with him in the past, but that could be their label telling them to make people think they're into it). I know Lawson have never been exactly a rock band or anything, and their music is more pop than anything, but at the same time I can't help feeling that it just doesn't suit. Maybe that's just me being overdramatic about the fact that someone I like has collaborated with someone I hate! Anyway, I would like this to do rather well because I think they as a band deserve it, and it had the potential to be another great song for them.
  2. +5 Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky +4 Passenger - Let Her Go +3 Rudimental feat. Ella Eyre - Waiting All Night +2 Armin Van Buuren feat. Trevor Guthrie - This Is What It Feels Like +1 Chris Malinchak - So Good To Me -1 Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Ray Dalton - Can't Hold Us -2 Demi Lovato - Heart Attack -3 Sub Focus feat. Alex Clare - Endorphins -4 Wretch 32 feat. Shakka - Blackout -5 David Guetta feat. Ne-Yo & Akon - Play Hard
  3. I do like the Naughty Boy song quite a bit, but I want to see Daft Punk stay at number 1 for 5 weeks in a row before Robin Thicke (surely) overtakes next week. I think La La La will be number 1 on Wednesday and then fall behind later in the week, but it's anyone's guess - I'd say they'll both be over 100k! On another note, it looks as if we could get 7 weeks in a row where the number 1 sells over 100k! 21/4 Rudimental 107k 28/4 Daft Punk 155k 5/5 Daft Punk 163k 12/5 Daft Punk 123k 19/5 Daft Punk (110k?) 26/5 Daft Punk or Naughty Boy 2/6 Robin Thicke
  4. That's not quite right for Gotye. He had a week at number 1, then dropped down to #3, then returned to number 1 for 4 weeks. :)
  5. 15-19, but I think my music tastes aren't really average for my age group  I don't think there was a need to include a "prefer not to say" option though, if you don't want to divulge your age you don't have to vote!

I really want Bad Blood (the song) to chart, but it's already been released and did nothing - though this was before Pompeii. (Speaking of which, do people realise that Laura Palmer is actually the fifth single from the album?)
  7. +5 Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky +4 Passenger - Let Her Go +3 Calvin Harris feat. Ellie Goulding - I Need Your Love +2 P!nk feat. Nate Ruess - Just Give Me A Reason +1 Armin Van Buuren feat. Trevor Guthrie - This Is What It Feels Like -1 Rudimental feat. Ella Eyre - Waiting All Night -2 Chris Malinchak - So Good To Me -3 Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Ray Dalton - Can't Hold Us -4 David Guetta feat. Ne-Yo & Akon - Play Hard -5 will.i.am feat. Justin Bieber - #thatPOWER This must be the first time in ages that there are only two songs in the top 10 that I really dislike :o
  8. I think as usual with album releases in the past couple of years, people are overestimating - the albums climate is really bad after all. I voted 76-100k but wouldn't be surprised to see it over 100k. If it gets over 150k I'll be astounded. (And yes, this is taking into account Get Lucky's sales - if it hadn't been for the lead single doing so well I'd have predicted this album to do absolutely nothing  )

  10. When are Daft Punk releasing their video? When they do, Get Lucky will no doubt get another boost, so if they do it early next week they could get 4 weeks over 100k which is amazing! Oh, and the Justice Collective went top 40 with the pre-order, I remember seeing it at about number 32?
  11. By "relative" I meant as a lead single compared to Glad You Came. All I meant was it did far worse than their last lead single, and was wondering if this new song would improve on that, sorry for the confusion
  12. After the relative failure of "Chasing the Sun" and "I Found You", could this be a return to number 1 for the Wanted? Happy that Passenger is really pulling ahead now (I for one hope he's ahead of Chris Malinchak this week, really don't see the attraction to that song) but it's sad that Daft Punk's lead is less than double the number 2 again. That doesn't mean they're selling a lot less though, because I put it down to Passenger rising - Rudimental are still on 0.41 :)
  13. +5 Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky +4 Passenger - Let Her Go +3 Calvin Harris feat. Ellie Goulding - I Need Your Love +2 Disclosure feat. Eliza Doolittle - You & Me +1 P!nk feat. Adele - Set Fire To The Rain Disclosure - Latch Both great songs (though the Kodaline version of Latch in the live lounge totally blows the original out of the water for me)
  15. Can't believe Daft Punk are somehow even further ahead than they were before. Rudimental down to 0.41 now. Speaking of which, does anyone know when the video for Get Lucky is out? It should boost sales even more when it's released

No offence to Emeli Sande, but I don't think she really deserves this record - the Beatles and Adele both managed such long streaks in the top 10 based on the album alone, and whether you like Emeli Sande more or not, you have to admit that Our Version Of Events would be long gone from the chart by now if it hadn't been for her performing on practically every major TV event last year - and even a couple of weeks ago when it dropped to number 7 and looked like FINALLY going away, it got conveniently reduced in price and went back up again. Not to mention the fact that it was re-released. I don't know about the Beatles two years after release, but Adele's album is still, even now, at full price, and her success in 2011 was based pretty much on one or two performances alone. (Or certainly not as many!) Now, I'd have nothing against Emeli if her album had performed as well as it has on the quality of the music alone, but considering how much she's been shoved down our throats in the last year, she's getting incredibly annoying now and I hope she goes away ASAP. If this stays in the top 10 for another 10 weeks or so and beats Adele's streak, I personally think it will be a massive injustice. Don't think that'll happen though, the fact that it's now back up to £8.99 on iTunes and falling again says to me that short of another performance, there's not much they can do to keep it going much longer. Sorry for the long comment, I feel the need to rant about this after getting tired of her about 8 months ago!
  18. Why is it that Iris always benefits more than other songs from being performed or reduced in price? I like it, but other, better songs don't go straight back into the iTunes top 10 every time the tiniest bit of promotion happens
  19. I honestly don't understand how Daft Punk are still extending their lead over Rudimental, it seemed so likely to drop incredibly quickly after only a few days, not to mention its price has gone up! Having said that, I'm glad to be proven wrong. It's nice to see Let Her Go could get to number 1 as well after spending so long not doing anything :)
  20. It really is a shame Daft Punk released on a Friday. They probably would have got the highest weekly sale of the year so far if they'd released on Sunday.
  21. If only Mirrors hadn't dropped out of the top 10 this week, no doubt it would still be gaining points! +5 Daft Punk feat. Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky +4 Bastille - Pompeii +3 Calvin Harris feat. Ellie Goulding - I Need Your Love +2 P!nk feat. Nate Ruess - Just Give Me A Reason +1 Rudimental feat. 22. OK, just checked and we were both wrong, it was Wednesday 5th October :P
  23. Don't know about Friday, but We Found Love was released on a Thursday :)
  24. Sadly I don't think Daft Punk will get number 1 next week either. I could be wrong, but they're already starting to fall slightly and the sales week hasn't even started yet :(
  25. Well, I can understand why they're number 1 all around the world. It's taken me within half an hour of first listen to buy the song.
