  1. I think it's distasteful. I understand that many people over the age of around 40 are happy that she is dead, and if I'd been alive when she was running the country, I might hate her as well. As it is, I can't say I particularly like her. However, I still think buying something like that is in very poor taste when the woman has just died - or, buying it just to get it into the charts. It's not fair on her family and friends who have just suffered a loss and for them to see that people are happy about her death is only going to make things worse. I'm not saying she herself didn't deserve it, but to make fun of someone's death is just something I don't agree with. If it had been a more tasteful song that people were buying, I wouldn't be so against it, but this is just laughing at the fact that somebody has died. Just to clarify though, I have nothing against the people who suffered because of Margaret Thatcher buying this, as they have every right to be happy. But there are sure to be some people (and I don't know how many) who are just jumping on the bandwagon and going along with the campaign when they don't really know anything about her, and I think that's just plain wrong.
  2. Surely this must be the first time ever that the iTunes number 1 is less than a minute long?

I was hoping beyond hope that Bastille could stay top 5 today. I was not expecting them to be number 3! However, they really need to drop down and get another week at number 5!
  4. Hopefully Bastille can stay ahead of the Saturdays and Pitbull this week to get another week at number 5. Has it ever happened before that a song's had 5 consecutive weeks at number 5? :D
  5. +5 Bastille - Pompeii +4 Justin Timberlake - Mirrors +3 P!nk feat. Nate Ruess - Just Give Me A Reason +2 Michael Buble - It's A Beautiful Day +1 Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man -1 Duke Dumont feat. A*M*E - Need U (100%) -2 The Saturdays feat. Sean Paul - What About Us -3 Nelly - Hey Porsche -4 PJ & Duncan - Let's Get Ready To Rhumble -5 Pitbull feat. Christina Aguilera - Feel This Moment
  6. Ho Hey to get 5 more weeks and be in the top 40 longer than Gangnam Style :D
  7. Not sure how to feel about this. A peak of 18 kind of ruins that awesome chart run. However, if it rises higher I won't be complaining
  8. Looking at A Thousand Years' original chart run, I can't believe how it's become so popular!
  9. YES for It's Time - does this mean On Top Of The World has made it too? Which was higher on Friday?
  10. Why are the Lumineers back up to 11? They're rising pretty fast too, looking likely to knock Disclosure back out of the top 10. Having said that, I'm happy at how long Ho Hey has spent in the top 40, it's a good song and not one that usually does this well in the charts these days. What is the longest time that a single has been out of the top 10 and then returned (within a single chart run of course)? I'm assuming the record holder is Relax by Frankie Goes To Hollywood - it always seems to be the case with these types of questions!

This is going to be the widest margin yet, I'm sure. Hey Porsche is shockingly bad

While I wasn't expecting Radioactive to climb that much, It's Time and On Top Of The World need to be top 40 by Sunday - both great songs! (It wouldn't surprise me if they were 41 and 42 right now!) ...The album should be number 1 as well, best album of the year for me too. :D Although it's looking possible that Bastille could climb to number 4 this week with PJ and Duncan falling, I actually hope they stay at number 5 to continue this streak! Either that or a rise to number 1 please. ;)
  13. As people are saying... What is going on with the Hear Me EP? If this affects Radioactive's sales to stop it getting higher this week, I will not be best pleased  Actually they keep messing up with Imagine Dragons, did anyone else notice the extra version of the album appearing on iTunes, where you could get the deluxe version for the same price as the normal one?
  14. Combining all versions, It's Time is now top 40 and I'm pretty sure On Top Of The World would be as well if we could combine with the version just outside the top 100. Three songs for Imagine Dragons in the chart this week? Maybe wishful thinking but that'd be amazing  As for the discussion about 2004, I agree that it had some great music, but also some awful music. But you could say that about any year!
  15. It's Time up to 115 and 116 - could it be top 40 combined by the end of the day?
  16. I think the only way to get What About Us to lose here, would be to put it against any other Saturdays song... Or possibly Loreen.
  17. +5 Bastille - Pompeii +4 Justin Timberlake - Mirrors +3 P!nk feat. Nate Ruess - Just Give Me A Reason +2 Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man +1 Charlie Brown - On My Way -1 Bridgit Mendler - Ready Or Not -2 Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz - Thrift Shop -3 The Saturdays feat. Sean Paul - What About Us -4 PJ & Duncan - Let's Get Ready To Rhumble -5 Nelly - Hey Porsche Why couldn't it at least be a GOOD 90s song that got boosted to number 1? There are plenty to choose from... -_-
  18. While it's pretty exciting when an old song re-enters and does this well, I do not want PJ & Duncan getting the number 1, it will just look ridiculous on the list of 2013 number ones... Not to mention it'll most likely be out of the top 40 within about a month! Also, Just Give Me A Reason is a well deserved number 1 that will stick around for ages, no doubt! This having multiple versions of songs high up on iTunes is getting annoying lately, it makes it impossible for iTunes to give a good measure - by the end of tomorrow, Justin Timberlake will most likely be back at number 1, and yet only be at number 4 on Sunday's chart for sure!
  19. +5 Bastille - Pompeii +4 Disclosure feat. AlunaGeorge - White Noise +3 Justin Timberlake - Mirrors +2 P!nk feat. Nate Ruess - Just Give Me A Reason +1 Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man -1 Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz - Thrift Shop -2 Bridgit Mendler - Ready Or Not -3 The Saturdays feat. Sean Paul - What About Us -4 Avicii vs. Nicky Romero - I Could Be The One -5 One Direction - One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks) I don't understand the love for the Saturdays at all. Their old stuff was alright, but this really isn't. Guarantee they'll be number 1 on here too next week because of the insane number of fans -_-
  20. I don't think the Saturdays are even going to go top 40 this week.
  21. +5 Bastille - Pompeii +4 Disclosure feat. AlunaGeorge - White Noise +3 Justin Timberlake - Mirrors +2 P!nk feat. Nate Ruess - Just Give Me A Reason +1 Bruno Mars - When I Was Your Man -1 Bridgit Mendler - Ready Or Not -2 Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz - Thrift Shop -3 Nicole Scherzinger - Boomerang -4 Avicii vs. Nicky Romero - I Could Be The One -5 One Direction - One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)
  22. Really hope One Direction aren't any higher than number 3 today, what an awful cover even if it is for a good cause. And P!nk deserves a number 2!
  23. This song really needs to peak at number 22!
  24. If this doesn't go away next week I may die.

For Nicole to drop from 1 to 4 in two days, the sales must be close... Meaning P!nk is going to be at least reasonably close to getting a #1 single with Just Give Me A Reason! Who'd have thought it? (She won't though, at least for this week) ...Hopefully Bastille can overtake Nicole too by Sunday :D David Bowie's sales are trailing off extremely fast.
