Republicans hold all 3 branches. People voted by the popular vote for Trump. If he can’t implement tariffs then what is the point? There is no bigger incitement to violence and extremism than telling people their vote is worthless and they’re powerless to change anything. In this country it is becoming a problem that whoever wins it’s pretty much identical policies. Yes. I don’t know why anyone would be happy with that situation. Do you want a world where the truly powerful have ways to maintain the status quo no matter what and have various levers to block any attempt at changing anything? Seems to be your position.

What’s the point in an election or a President if a President can’t do anything?

Yeah will have to see what the appeal and Supreme Court leads to but if a president doesn’t have authority on such matters then elections become less and less important.
