john v's 11th May 2025 charts: it's Gaga vs Artemas on top
11th May 2025 It's a Swifty-ish number one for Gaga, her 5th and her first since 2010, so she can now claim a number one in three consecutive decades, just holding off Artemas and the dark 4th single which has outdone the previous 3 top 40 tracks. Benson Boone also gets his first top 10 with Mystical Magical as Damiano David gets a second with Voices as a third track shoots into the top 40. Pulp meanwhile grab a first top 10 since Disco 2000, and the highest new entry in a quiet week is a debut for My Morning Jacket and the lovely Time Waited. Other newies: Fitz & The Tantrums get a first chart entry this decade, having gone top 10 in the late 2010's, Sophie Ellis-Bextor can't even wait for the current track to run it's course before Taste pops in lower down, and Louise pretty much the same with Borderline. 1 4 1 9 HOW BAD DO U WANT ME - Lady Gaga 471500 2 15 2 4 I GUESS U NEVER REALLY CARED ABOUT ME - Artemas 165700 3 2 2 6 END OF THE WORLD - Miley Cyrus 270550 4 1 1 7 SHINE - Mondo Cozmo 822100 5 3 3 7 RAGDOLL - The Lottery Winners featuring Chad Kroeger 222300 6 5 1 9 SUNSET BLVD - Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco 663900 7 28 7 3 MYSTICAL MAGICAL - Benson Boone 75500 8 27 8 2 VOICES - Damiano David 66400 9 7 7 10 SORROW REPLACED - Kim Wilde featuring Midge Ure 209500 10 16 10 5 SPIKE ISLAND - Pulp 121800 11 10 10 5 APOCALYPSE - Pete Tong, MoBlack & Max Zotti featuring Monolink 124000 12 8 1 14 ORDINARY - Alex Warren 1166400 13 6 1 9 LIFE IN A NORTHERN TOWN - Justin Hayward & Mike Batt 754600 14 14 14 6 ALL I KNOW - Rudimental x Khalid 112000 15 11 5 10 LOVE IS LOVE - Kim Wilde 278250 16 24 16 5 YOU KILLED THE MUSIC - Debbii Dawson 80700 17 12 3 11 KEEP THE FAITH - Armin van Buuren & Bon Jovi 505000 18 13 6 9 SOMETHING TO BELIEVE IN - Avalan Rokston 281550 19 25 19 3 HEART BY HEART - Joe Jonas 57150 20 18 7 10 BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE - David Guetta & Sia 229750 21 19 19 9 IT’S NOT RIGHT BUT IT’S OK - Felix Jaehn & Whitney Houston 145750 22 21 1 19 THE PROUD ONE - The Osmonds 1186250 23 48 23 3 NEXT SUMMER - Damiano David 37750 24 22 5 12 REVOLUTION - Mans Zelmerlow 378050 25 29 25 8 SORRY I’M HERE FOR SOMEONE ELSE - Benson Boone 109150 26 30 26 7 SOAK UP THE SUN (SURF MESA REMIX) - Sheryl Crow 99100 27 9 6 8 I GOT YOU - Split Enz 293150 28 33 28 6 HANGING ON THE TELEPHONE - Blondie 76950 29 49 29 4 BLUEBIRD - Lana Del Ray 42200 30 41 30 5 FEEL IT - d4vd 58600 31 17 8 6 ATOMIC - Blondie 150150 32 23 20 11 MARIAH CAREY THROUGH DEATH VALLEY - Blossoms 168750 33 31 1 26 LATE NIGHT PHONE CALL - Reverend And The Makers 1571450 34 26 2 16 CONTROL OF ME - Topic x Daecolm 708000 35 35 35 7 RELENTLESS LOVE - Sophie Ellis-Bextor 96800 36 40 36 4 COME BACK AND SHAKE ME - Clodagh Rodgers 51600 37 45 37 6 BOYS DON’T CRY - Tom Grennan 69400 38 38 38 10 CAFE DEL MAR - Pete Tong & Jules Buckley & The Essential Orchestra 124750 39 58 39 4 MARRIAGE - Nelly Furtado 39900 40 47 40 2 ANGELA - Benjamin Ingrosso 29500 41 36 36 5 LOVE ME TO HEAVEN - Jonas Brothers 62150 42 20 16 6 GOOD BOYS - Blondie 110650 43 34 5 13 BUSY WOMAN - Sabrina Carpenter 391350 44 42 7 14 ANDY (A GUY LIKE YOU) - The Waterboys 348200 45 52 45 5 ETERNAL LIFE - Robin Schulz & Oswald 49500 46 51 46 5 AZIZAM - Ed Sheeran 52800 47 39 1 16 HAMMER TO THE HEART - Teddy Swims 881650 48 32 27 11 TIL A MAWNIN - Shaggy featuring Sting 134550 49 37 15 8 WHITE LIES - Sam Ryder 134950 50 54 50 4 GOODNIGHT MIDNIGHT - Clodagh Rodgers 36050 51 44 30 10 CONFESSION - Louise 117100 52 69 52 3 MIND OF A WARRIOR - Alan Walker & Sorana 22900 53 66 53 2 FIND XANADU - Alison Goldfrapp 18050 54 43 28 10 LOVE COMES QUICKLY (LIVE AT THE ROYAL ARENA COPENHAGEN 2023) - Pet Shop Boys 118500 55 55 55 5 THE MESSAGE - Turin Brakes 43500 56 50 47 8 STEREOQUEEN - Stela Cole 83900 57 57 57 5 BLINK TWICE - Shaboozey & Myles Smith 36600 58 63 58 3 PETITE ETOILE - Polo and Pan featuring Beth Ditto 22000 59 67 59 4 GUNSLINGER - Natalie Bergman 27100 60 68 60 4 DREAM MACHINE - Purple Disco Machine & Alison Goldfrapp 27200 61 62 7 26 ALL YOUR FAULT - Gwen Stefani 494600 62 53 8 13 HALO - KEiiNO 249050 63 64 4 55 FEEL - Pet Shop Boys 1214400 64 61 1 26 PEOPLE WATCHING - Sam Fender 787850 65 NEW 65 1 TIME WAITED - My Morning Jacket 7000 66 74 66 2 TEARS DRY TONIGHT - CYRIL & James Blunt 12000 67 46 11 14 ABRADACABRA - Lady Gaga 259500 68 70 68 2 BARBARIAN - AWOLNATION 12400 69 71 69 3 IF YOU COULD READ MY MIND - Cascada 16400 70 72 70 2 I’M FREE (7TH HEAVEN RADIO EDIT) - Donna Summer 11600 71 NEW 71 1 MAN ON THE MOON - Fitz & The Tantrums 5800 72 76 72 3 RAIN IN THE RIVER - Bruce Springsteen 14400 73 75 73 6 LEARN TO LET GO - The Doobie Brothers 29000 74 60 50 9 LOUD! - Chesney Hawkes 75850 75 NEW 75 1 TASTE - Sophie Ellis-Bextor 5000 76 59 59 6 TWILIGHT ZONE - Ariana Grande 43700 77 77 77 2 DROWNED IN A SEA OF TEARS - Sparks 9200 78 78 78 2 I DON’T WANNA TALK - Dadi Freyr 8800 79 NEW 79 1 BORDERLINE - Louise 4200 80 79 79 2 MY DEVOTION - Sparks 8200 DROP OUTS 56 2 16 PINK PONY CLUB - Chappell Roan 636200 65 10 15 BORN WITH A BROKEN HEART - Damiano David 331550 73 73 4 LOVERS AND STRANGERS - A Flock Of Seagulls 20400 80 79 3 BLIND SPOT - Bruce Springsteen 12400

AH Gold Chart - w/e 17th May 2025 - Don't Forget the End Of The Sports Car
Hi AH! 🙂 Hope all is great and you are getting time not working and suffering Beautiful Things on The Playlist from Hell 😄 Quite a few on your chart I need to investigate further when I get Eurovision over. Making notes as I run down the list....! 🙂 I am now in OGAE got the latest mag, my long-time mate finally got me to officially join rather then get the freebies after the event - he designs/edits the magazines and does a grand job! fabulous chart! 😎

Hi AH! 🙂 Hope all is fab, and yes it was lovely seeing my old college friends, it was like time hadnt passed by at all, I'm off to see 4 more in 2 weeks up north and loads of relatives 🥰 We don't go out on the town - a walk to the local pub for a meal is about it for folk used to being in bed for 9 😄 I still would go occasionally clubbing if Duckies hadnt closed down for good in London, but I couldnt do youth-oriented places so I hope you get a good compromise with your mate - somewhere you both enjoy, or just stay local! Pubs are still fine for me. Yes I'm of the same opinion with the Andy bell/Blondie and PSB/Tina tracks - I wont be buying them! The original version was reasonable for old time's sake, but not motivated to buy it again! I thought you'd be happy about Debbii Dawson, I was hinting that would make a good BJSC entry as long as it wasnt me at risk of winning with it, and yes it's very Abba-esque. I'm also with you on Beautiful Things, it's like a millstone round global charts necks dragging everything down - I tend to watch Billboard Youtube top 100 UK/US rundowns and I'm sick of it and thats just a 5 second clip twice a week! Benson's latest 2 singles are way better. Has any PSB spent longer on my chart? Yes, What Have I Done To Deserve This had a good 18 month run I think, but Feel is far and away the biggest PSB track to not hit my number one, and the biggest track ever to peak at 4, it's just about to overtake Hallo Spaceboy in their rankings of "sales". It would be even higher if it hadnt been pushed down by other tracks off the album that have left the chart now. Donna Summer remixes, meanwhile, continue to bring pleasure! thanks for the huge list and comments! 🥰

POWER TOP 40 - WEEK 19 2025
Hey Sven! 🙂 still a great top 6 there, Ed up to 1 and Guetta/Sia climbing too. Ariana, Ravyn up and new in for Shaboozey/Myles - I'm mystified how that is still bubbling under the USA top 100 without getting into the 100! Felix & Whitney new in too and damiano up 🥰 Breakers faves: Lizzo, Doobies, Pulp and benson Boone all great records. 1978, aahh my first year at Uni, happy days, seeing some more old friends in a couple of weeks from that era 😎 Big chart-toppers for me from Bee Gees, Plastic Bertrand, Clout, Gerry Rafferty (my all-time fave!), Kate Bush, Blondie, John & Olivia, and almost hit the top Boney M, Suzi Quatro, Hot Chocolate, Samantha Sang, Lindisfarne. Fab charts! 😎

PopMaster & Ten To The Top II
That triple 39 is still bubbling under 😎 round 1: 39 round 2: 39 3 in 10: Black Cat, What have You Done For Me Lately, When I Think Of You on a roll here but some of those questions were tricky, I'm amazed I got the Curtis Stigers, jamiroquai questions for a start!

john v's May the Fourth 2025 charts, Miley, Lottery Winners or Mondo Cozmo on top
Hi Alex! 🙂 No I've never totted them up TBH! I count my official chart starting with Hey Jude in 1968 September so it will be 57 years in a few months, so 57 x 52 = 2964 so I think you are right there with 3000 well done! I must do an accurate count as it sounds like number 3000 will be sometime next April or May (I know some years have 53 weeks not 52 so probably late April I guess!). I've put a note in my diary to count them up in the new year! Thanks for asking 😎

Sergej's Personal Chart 09.05.2025
Hi Sergej! 🙂 25 weeks for Pink Pony Club, thats nearly 6 months! 🥰 Alex Warren top 5, Miley and Shaboozey/Myles nearly top 10, Billy & Avril new in, shhh dont tell anyone but I remember the punk/disco summer of '77 😄 Control Of Me back, hooray, that's a banger that should have been huge. Ravyn Lenae up and big climb for the fabulous Bluebird - the song sounds like a lost John Denver classic, and I'm sure Lana would take that as a huge compliment. Guetta/Sia new in, Nelly Furtado holding, and CYRIL/James and Benson Boone new in are fab. Great charts! Take care 😎

Julian rates every 21st century Top 40 hit
Nice to see JJ72 get a medal slot, I always liked them but they came and went and that was it, all over. Formulae gets a 7/10 from me. Vanilla Punch is a decent 6/10, The Wildhearts were fun at their best. My Vision is very good track, nice to see Seal still in the charts, 9/10. Thick D I have entirely forgotten but I rated Insatiable 7/10 too. Ditto No Doubt too, I liked Underneath It All and Gwen Stefani is still putting out fab ballads, her recent All Your Fault is up there with the best of No Doubt. Feeder I'm in agreement too, 6/10, but we diverge over The Libertines, always a bit too shambolic for my tastes, DNC. Holly Valance stretching out her 5 minutes of fame with a 5/10, Life Goes On was an underwhelming LeAnn return indeed - 4/10 from me. Bunsen Burner I remember getting excited over, having John Otway back in the charts was totally unexpected. It was good too! 8/10! Cafe Del Mar is in my charts right now - for Pete Tong. As this DNC, it's safe to assume it's not as good as Pete's version, that's a strong 7/10. Ian Van Dahl's Try, for once, I liked - maybe I gave in to the formula at this stage, but it grabbed a 6/10. Irv Gotti I also liked and another 7/10, which leaves Stamford Amp. I was 44 and knew nothing of the track, the show or it making the charts! Not even my then-10-year-old nephew ever mentioned anything to do with it. He would have been outside playing! I must mention it later today to him he can play the video for his 6-year old....😄

Gražios Dainos - 2000s decade
I've forgotten that new entry Sophie E-B track! Some faves elsewhere in the chart though, Sophie's other track, Madonna, Dido, No Doubt, Holly & Kym. 👍

My record of the week 60 years ago
I like that Rocking Berries song, I discovered it in the late 70's on a 4-disc 60's compilation. Certainly more playable than their 1971 novelty song that I bought The King (Don't Be Cruel) which featured impersonations of 2 celebrities unbroadcastable these days. Iko Iko was a classic playground chant in the 60's, chanted by girls usually, so the Belle Stars doing their bit again to resurrect annoyingly. Natasha's version was better, but not a fan of the song really. Dont know the Unit 4 Plus 2 song, I quite like it but it's no Concrete & Clay. So Sandie is on peak form with Long Live Love, the tune takes me right back. Cool as always. There's some surviving TOTP footage of her rehearsing the song with no audience and looking bored, which in no way detracts from the song. Sandie always said what she thought, and if she's bored with rehearsal that's totally fine! Fab.

PopMaster & Ten To The Top II
Thanks both and well done on the 39 Rollo, and one wrong Jade is nearly there! I was certain there would 3 in 10 from all of us! I also had to drag up How Soon Is Now title after a few seconds, but just got there in time! Yes it is a classic too 😮 round 1: 39 round 2: 33 (blanked on Byrne!) 3 in 10: running in the family, lessons in love, something about you

Julian rates every 21st century Top 40 hit
Felix Da Housecat and The Strokes DNC for me 😮 Silver Screen sounds quite fresh though, from this viewpoint decades later, that backing track has sample potential if it hasnt already been nicked. Complicated one of Avril's best early tracks, 8/10. Oasis Little By Little grabbed a mere 3/10 from me at the time, and I listed My Generation as the other track, maybe they did it on TOTP or something. The Datsuns a mere 4/10, and I am Gangsta Lovin' as Eve was rated 7/10 at the time, though as per usual I dont recall any of these tracks, bar Avril Lavigne and Oasis (which I under-rated). Sadly the rest all DNC as well, even Garbage, most likely because my mood at this time was "just got dumped" and I was playing Kosheen's Harder rather a lot feeling sorry for myself, a classic 10/10 track that should have gone top 40. A brief mention of 2 absolutely classic songs in Long & Winding Road and Suspicious Minds, it would be very hard to completely ruin them. So, well done Will Young & Gareth Gates for achieving that difficult feat.

Gražios Dainos - 1983
oh I'd forgotten that Coconuts track, minus Kid Creole. It's quite fun. :)
-
Gražios Dainos - 90s decade : 1994
Never heard that Moonflower track but I liked the name so had a lookie :) Yes that's a nice one, if I ever revamp 1994 charts I would include it.
-
Gražios Dainos - 90s decade : 1994
I've finished my original 1968 to Autumn 1975 online, and revamped years 1967 to april 1975, then there's a gap until 1978 through to autumn 1980 is done. Another gap until 1983 through to near the end of 1993 done. 1994 is also done and part of 1995, and then from late 1997 I went digital so can relatively easily post anything after that when I've done the rest. Everything from late 2012 onwards is posted on Buzzjack. :)

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
Jive Bunny, the best thing about it was Hawaii 5-0 getting to number one, where it always belonged - the 60's/70's TV show opening credits were about 15 years ahead of their time stylistically (think 80's pop videos) and it was far and away the most exciting opening sequence of the era, including even Doctor Who. Milli Vanilli, still pretty dull single that one. Belinda carlisle, though, what a soaring banger, loved it. Back on top form. Double Trouble & Fresh 4 were merely OK, Cher was blasting out a singalong anthem of the time, that was all over US radio well into 1990. Which leaves Billy Joel's massive classic. It came over as a bit of a (strong) novelty at the time, but it's got legs and remains powerful even though all the events are very historical now. Cardiff's Millenium Stadium was all excited by his performance last year, and Start The Fire remains a highlight. Billy Joel could easily have been a classical-styled composer I reckon if he hadn't been so full of the love of the history of pop/rock/blues and any other genre that took his fancy.

The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
Oh yes, Personal Jesus and Sensual World were also two classics I bought in Florida early 1990, in extended CD format. I gave personal jesus a strong second chart run as a result and loved Kate's Ken from Comic Strip Presents.

1972 Personal Top 100 Then And Now
There was indeed, sorry I missed the question, I was madly downloading the next song and missed it! Def Leppard covered Action , but I only know a rockabilly cover of Solid Gold Easy Action, that was an unusual choice! 😄
