  1. It really does deserve to have a good chart run. That’s my main issue with the Christmas charts these days, it’s almost entirely of playlist streams. So it’s the same songs year in year out making the top 5, top 10 and so on. If Spotify and other streaming platforms changed things up a bit maybe that’d make a difference. I can’t see it happening though.
  2. I think I agree with the placement of both Billie songs. I enjoyed this a bit more than Because We Want To when they weee released, though I don’t often go back to either.
  3. All Saints for me. I like Teenage Dirtbag but it suffered from massive over exposure here. I remember it being everywhere non stop for what felt like months.

  5. Continuing on with the 2nd best selling song of the year we have. Representing the UK year end charts: All Saints: Pure Shores Representing the Australian year end charts: Wheatus: Teenage Dirtbag
  6. I didn’t really like Dakota at the time, but it was everywhere here and my brother ,Ike’s it too. So it eventually grew on me throughout 2005/06.
  7. I agree, she even did some promo over here from memory, but that was 1999. Oh yes I remember that. Was it Chris Moyles? It got to #17 from memory.
  8. I was a bit late to the party with Billie in a way. Because We Want To and Girlfriend kind of just passed be by but I adored Homey To The Bee. The previous singles did end up growing on me and I ended up getting her debut album.
  9. 42, wow that’s a lot! Oh yes, that makes sense. I can recall how frequently I remember seeing a new #1 in the UK around that time when we got the UK charts in our weekly entertainment newspaper.
  10. I’m just realising that there were 32 #1’s in 1998, is that correct? That’s an awful lot, like more than one every two weeks.
  11. Not on of their finest that’s for sure.
  12. Ah that makes sense. I mean I remember seeing in Top of the Pops magazine back in the late 90’s that some singles were £2 or £3. It made me so jealous as singles here in Australia often cost $10, some were $5 though. 10 year old me didn’t quite understand different currencies though.
  13. Didn’t realise that about Five. Everybody Get Up was the far bigger hit in Australia peaking at #5. Bootie Call could only manage a peak of #59.
  14. In my defence Golden has been in the charts for over 20 weeks. 🤣
  15. Off to a good start at #72 in the midweeks. Hopefully it can climb or at least stay stable by weeks end.
  16. Is that all? It feels like longer. 🤣

I went to see Now You See Me: Now You Don’t today. I really enjoyed it. A solid addition to what is now a trio of films.
  18. I understand that, but at the same time I don’t believe it was ever billed as a Sugababes history book. It covered her time with the group from early days to departure and her brief solo career. It also covered her life before, during and after her initial time with the Sugababes. I found it all so eye opening, she went through so much.
  19. It was such a pleasant surprise!
  20. I’m surprised Bootie Call sold as much as it did in its opening week to get to #1. If only Steps released One For Sorrow one week later.
  21. This features in a scene in the new movie Now You See Me: Now You Don’t. It’s on,y really the chorus but it was great to hear it regardless.
  22. Love Drug was used in the Netflix movie The Thursday Murder Club, which was released back in August. It’s only in 2 small scenes but it made me think it might’ve worked as a single.
  23. I can remember the cds and magazines from then with a little tag line at the bottom. “Check out or brand new website”. Oh they were simpler times.
  24. Ghetto Gospel has grown on me over time, I don’t mind it now. I hadn’t heard the Oasis song until today.
