Some Kind Of Bliss Starting at #15 with the songs that just fall short of the top 10 is Red Blooded Woman, for a long time this was far and above my favourite song from the Body Language era, though more recently Slow and Chocolate have closed the gap on it. I have liked it from the moment I heard in in early 2004 though. Get Outta My Way was a slow burn for me, I remember hearing it here and there around 2010/2011 but failed to take much notice of it which is a shame as I love it now and almost put it in my top 10. I'm also surprised at how poorly this did on the charts, is there any reason why? The next two, both singles from Kylie's debut album crept up on me massively as I went through Kylie's PWL era singles I was a little familiar with Got To Be Certain but had never heard Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi until this year. I love them both and I think are a reflection of my fondness for the PWL era music. (I'm a massive Steps fan). And rounding things out at #11 just missing out is Some Kind Of Bliss, released as the lead from Impossible Princess in 1997. I don't have to many memories of this other than seeing brief glimpses of it in the television ads for Impossible Princess, the car and brief bit of the chorus really stuck with me though as I remember always being keen to track it down in the late 90's.

On A Night Like This Leading off my top 20 is Step Back In Time which was released in October 1990 and peaked at #5 in Australia and #4 in the UK. This was another one that I was vaguely familiar with before the start of this year, being 2 when this was released I have no memory of it during it's chart run but I do have the odd recollection of hearing it here and there over the years. It's one I really enjoy now. Finer Feelings was another surprise for me as I can't really recall it from my album listen through at the start of the year (perhaps I should go back and check what I wrote), but I really like it. It was close to the top 10 for me initially but dropped as I myranking took shape. Love At First Sight is one I go through phases with, I like it, then love it, then get bored of it. I think I've reached that point now were I think it's a very strong solid pop song. Of all the songs in my ranking I think Slow was the biggest surprise for me, a surprise for how much it grew on me. If you'd have asked me twelve months or even 2 months ago where I'd expect it to place I'd say it'd be luck to crack my top 40. I use to have it on the same level as Can't Get You Out Of My Head, but unlike that one Slow really connected with me on my many recent listens. (I also found it interesting that the video concept for Slow was intended for Rachel Steven's debut solo single Sweet Dreams My LA Ex, as mentioned in her autobiography) (sorry if any spoilers). Finally just missing the top 15 is Light Years second single On A Night Like This. This was actually the very first and if I recall on physical Kylie Minogue single I ever purchased. I can still remember buying it at the shops.
