The charts arent just for under 50s. Just because older people may have different music tastes doesnt make those tastes any less relevant or important.

Yes i was about to mention the christmas market. I guess supermarkets sell cds to casual buyers who spot say the newest Ed Sheeran album on sale without necessarily having realised it had been released. Also additional 'stocking filler' type pressies at christmas like you said.

I think Italy will win but Spain are capable of snatching it by the odd goal if they play well. Expecting a Italy v England final on Sunday.

I also think England will edge it, but in a tight game anything can happen.

Depends how you define "deserves"? Sport isnt a charity, they dont give the prize to the most deserving, you win on merit or not at all. They have two hard games left, anything can happen, a sending off, injury to a key player, a dodgy pen/deflected goal against them, etc. Denmark shouldnt be underestimated.
  10. 20 years on the album chart is a massive achievement, but i also thing More Abba Gold is as good. There are a few more albums that will surely reached 1000 weeks at some point, Queen GH, Rumours, and Bob Marley's Legend. But Abba will always be the first.
  11. Isnt streaming basically a count of how many times a song is listened to. If you bought a 7 inch or 12 inch, cd or whatever, the number of times it was listened to was unknown, you could listen to it a million times, or once, made no difference, it was counted as one sale and one only, it wasnt an indicator of how many times it was consumed.
  12. Wasnt Queen's We Will Rock You the Double-A side to We Are the Champions which got to No. 2?

Does anyone have examples of the chart show being broadcast on a day other than a Sunday (e.g. for bank holidays or special events?) i have picked up two examples of the chart not being broadcast at all, in 1987 (switched to new chart being announced on Sunday) and 1997 ( Diana's death).

Also most new entries in the top 5, top 10, top 20, top 40 etc for any particular week. I think the record is a top 6 all new entries.
