Your Least Favourite Doctor Who Episodes
Father's Day is a fantastic episode, exploring why things would change if you changed history, everyone he would meet from then on, everywhere he went etc would be changed, changing history for ever. For a programme about timetravel it doesnt really explore time travel or paradoxes very often, this is why Blink is so fantastic.

A Question of Sport
Sue Barker has been axed as presenter of A Question of Sport along with the two team captains, Phil Tufnell and Matt Dawson. Alex Scott has apparently been lined up as the new host. What do people think of the change?

Year End Charts
When did the 'year end' singles charts begin in the UK and how has the length of the chart varied? Is there a definite YE chart archive anywhere? The source I have always used for this data in the 1980s and 1990s was the official year end chart countdown broadcast on Radio 1. However, it seems that different sources vary. The lists on wikipedia for example does not correspond to the radio 1 lists, which in turn does not correspond to other sources. There must be a true list somewhere.

Artists that topped the UK charts on their own birthday
Paul McCartney in 1968 with The Ballad Of John & Yoko I think was the only one. George Harrison was No. 1 on his birthday in 1971 with "My Sweet Lord". Geri Halliwell was number 1 on her birthday in both 1996 "Wannabe" and 1998 "Viva Forever".

Clive Tyldesley replaced as main ITV football commentator
Brian Moore was a Gillingham fan. Gillingham's fanzine was named after a Half Man Half Biscuit song lyric from a song called Dickie Davies' eyes. It was called "Brian Moore's head looks uncannily like London Planetarium" or BMH for short.

Bananarama - world record attempt
Does anyone remember Bananarama attempting a world record attempt in the 1980s on children's tv, i think in the days of Andy Crane being the presenter. Basically the attempt was to record a song, produce the single and play the record in the shortest time ever Cant remember the song. The BBC gave the disc away in a competition afterwards (it was only grooved on one side). If anyone has more details i'd be grateful.

Most number 1s on chart simultaneously?
Great work. Many thanks. For a spell in 1991 the current number 1 was the only disc in the entire chart to reach the summit. Nowadays of course popular songs hang around the lower reaches of the charts much longer. It would be interesting to see a comparison with the album chart, where some chart for hundreds of weeks and reenter dozens of times.

Most number 1s on chart simultaneously?
If anyone in the world knows the answer to this then they will inhabit this forum. What is the highest number of number 1 hits in a chart? That is past, present and future number 1s on the chart. I am guessing it will be late 90s, early 2000s , or a period when the chart didnt move much. If anyone knows i would be grateful to know the answer.

What was the last single you purchased on CD or cassette?
I was never abig cd single purchaser. When i was really young i bought 7 inch singles, but by the time cds had replaced vinyl i had moved onto albums. I havent bought anything as new for along time, bar the odd christmas purchase for other people. The last cd single i think may have been Band Aid 20, and the last album as new maybe Adele's 19. Now i buy any cds on ebay second hand. Never desperate enough to buy when released usually happy to wait acouple of years to get it cheap.

VAR in Football
At the end of the day decisions equal themselves out over a season. VAR has become the story. Watch for a slow creep of more decisions that will be deferred. It is only a game. If every decision is 100% accurate it makes it boring. Lots of football decisions are a matter of opinion anyway.

My Top 40 Fave Top 40 Hits Year By Year...
1986 was the first year i was into the chart in a big way i taped the top 10 of the countdown on casette tape most weeks and wrote the top 10 down every week in a little book. As the weeks and months went on i got known at school as something of a chart expert. That christmas naturally i asked for the guinness book of british hit singles. I only knew such a book existed after seeing it mentioned on the Little and Large show. On christmas day one year i hid in my bedroom listening to the top selling album chart of the year on radio 2 rather than sitting with my family watching the OFAH christmas special (1987 or 1988?). This carried on for about four or five years until the chart became dominated by acid house music.

I remember sending off a stamped addressed envelope for the actual charts - i had obviously missed most of the countdown during the day because of school.

Jordan Lee’s Family Fortunes Answers / Results Thread
I am a fairly quiet member of this forum and it was the first time i had taken part in such a quiz. I didnt do too badly therefore. I wasnt entirely sure of the rules and must have misread at least one question incorrectly thinking Elvis was from the uk!

12 inch singles
There was a huge popularity for 12 inch singles in the 1980s. Why was there never a 12 inch singles sales chart?

Songs that outstayed their welcome in the charts
Yes i remember Everything I Do i do for you. Was around for ever. Didnt like the song, didnt like the film. It was quite rate for a song to jang around so long in those days. Not sure how that many people could have bought it for that many weeks, especially as it was not that good.
