I think I wote in the semi thread that out of Eledan and Aeroche, one is terrible while I love the other. It's not Aeroche's entry that I like. I'm just gutted I didn't enter Zeds Dead. I think it could do well. It was on my list of possibles and I was seriously thinking of entering Hadouken into UP. That's out of the window now.

What a terrific first half to the album. Some great tracks here. Don't know about slowly giving up it's secrets, this is an immediate record from the off.

Brooklyn Baby gets points just for what must be the first song to use hydroponic in it's lyrics. West Coast is just flawless. Sad Girl could well grow on me a lot but for now it's merely ok.

I am giving this album another go. Only listened to the first three tracks again but Cruel World is fabulous (mainly as it could have fitted right into Born to Die/Paradise) Ultraviolence I am still undecided about but Shades of Cool is an absolute mess. It's worse than Yayo.

Just catching up with this. What is all this nonsense about Death Disco? An absolutely immense record and the perfect post-punk single. And how good was it that it was played on TOTP for millions of people.

This is probably why I think semi 1 is soooo poor. I'm with Lew on that. No way I'm gonna get out of this semi.

It's a 90s dance track. Rachel Wallace would never be considered an indie artist. So therefore there are no grounds for including it in this forum.

The official line would go "because she is an artist that has appealed to an indie audience or appears on a lot of indie blogs"

I have to sympathise with you Ben. Like Chris I felt it would never have been posted in this forum and that is the direction we have decided to take UP. It's a shame this wasn't repeated in the rules from UP16 And from your list of atists alone Ben that would cover a really wide range of music.

sorry been off broadband for 2 weeks so haven't done anything with this. Anybody else got any tracks for this? I might take a look back at popular threads of the time just to see if any tracks have been forgotten to try and make it up to a round 100 if possible.
