  1. I haven't forgotten about this. I was going to finish this off tonight but I left my memory stick at work with the results on it.
  2. http://www.nme.com/images/gallery/1994oasisdefinitelymaybe600.jpg 01. "Rock 'n' Roll Star" – 5:23 02. "Shakermaker" – 5:10 03. "Live Forever" – 4:38 04. "Up in the Sky" – 4:28 05. "Columbia" – 6:17 06. "Supersonic" – 4:44 07. "Bring It on Down" – 4:17 08. "Cigarettes & Alcohol" – 4:50 09. "Digsy's Dinner" – 2:32 10. "Slide Away" – 6:32 11. "Married with Children" – 3:12 Yes it's another Brit Pop album but I thought with the re-release of the album looking like it could re-enter the Top 5 and the recent flurry of reunion rumours on Twitter, it was a good time to reassess this album. I had a listen to this in the car this morning and I was blown away by how good most of it still sounds. I must admit to not listening to it for quite a while, but Rock 'n Roll Star still blasts its way out of the speakers and basically sets out the stall for the whole of their career. This album must be ingrained in my marrow because I knew just about all the lyrics and was heartily singing along all the way to work. All the hits were soon speeding by and I was loving the album tracks just as much. Highlights today were Columbia, Cloudburst (I have the Japanese version) and Bring It On Down. The JP version also has Sad Song on it as well. So did this album ever do it for you or were they just the most boorish representation of the Loaded generation. Rex2pChXRck

    Utterly utterly boring.
  4. Slayer has realeased their first new material since Jeff Hanneman's death in preparation for a new album release in 2015. Nothing much new but it it's nice to have them back again. sBG1WLxlQ9M Now I know that this may not get many comments but there has been so little Rock music in here lately.... \m/ \m/
  5. Please keep T*** A*** out of the thread please.
  6. 12. Breathing (8.58) http://gaffa.org/sensual/p_br6.jpg Her first single to show what she was really capable of. A truly brilliant and original take on the horrors of nuclear war. VzlofSthVwc
  7. 13. Rubberband Girl (8.50) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullwidth_image/RubberbandGirl_Best_0.jpg Just for Tony ;) A good track but why it is quite as high as it is seems a bit strange. 85wZw1O83aE
  8. 14. Wow (8.41) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullwidth_image/Wow_500x500.jpg Lionheart's biggest hit was another bittersweet tale of actors and outperformed Hammer Horror, hitting the Top 20 (and the vaseline...) ZyuxXWxKSTg
  9. 15. There Goes A Tenner (8.17) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullwidth_image/kate_there_goes_a_tenner.jpg One of Kate's great story songs telling the tale of a robbery going wrong, this was her only single not to trouble the Top 75 during the 80s. lxVcrFTzZMs
  10. 16. Sat In Your Lap (8.08) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullwidth_image/01_-sat-in-your-lap1.jpg 3rd track in a 3-way tie for #16 is what I think is one of her most addictive tunes. -4csr6pLZLg
  11. 16. The Sensual World (8.08) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullwidth_image/TheSensualWorld-Single-best.jpg The perfection just keeps rolling on with the title track from The Sensual World. Yes. h1DDndY0FLI
  12. 16. Moments of Pleasure (8.08) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullwidth_image/MomentsOfPleasure2.jpg A truly gorgeous track and one of the highlights of The Red Shoes. pW5hjWVS3ho
  13. 19. The King of the Mountain (8.00) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/file...%20Mountain.jpg Her big comeback single propelled Kate into the Top 10 for the first time since 1986. I adored this mainly because it was so good having new Kate music. F8xk_AkeP5c

  15. 20. The Big Sky (7.92) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullwidth_image/The-Big-Sky.jpg The lowest of the four singles from HoL takes us into the Top 20. I always loved this track especially the moment she says a cloud looks like Ireland. Just something about the way it comes across. sV7w5TaYjRA
  16. 21. The Dreaming (7.75) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullwidth_image/The_Dreaming_Single.jpg What is this doing down so low. This was so different in 1982. Nothing sounded anything like it. f***ing amazing! M2Wa0LdCsvM
  17. 21. The Red Shoes (7.75) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullwidth_image/The-Red-Shoes_Single.jpg The title track from The Red Shoes is up next. I really like this although from this excerpt from The Line The Curve and The Cross (or whatever it's called) shows she really shouldn't act. rbbPPy_bNM4

  19. I meant the voting period for the final.
  20. Well I'll be away from Tomorrow to Sunday so I hope the voting period won't end before then.
  21. 23. Deeper Understanding (7.73) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d0/Kate_Bush_Deeper_Understanding_Single_Cover.jpg And tying at #23 is this track from Director's Cut, redone from the original on The Sensual World. This didn't get anywhere near the chart despite an all star cast (creepy) video that manages to be Experiment IV Part II. Listening again, the wonky computer voice does not work at all. nzqF_gBpS84
  22. 23. Wild Man (7.73) http://cdn.stereogum.com/files/2011/10/Kate-Bush.jpg The only single from 50 Words For Snow, this took a while to grow on me (but that's nothing new - I didn't get into The Dreaming for years!) so I expect this to continue to do so for years. a3BzjfAjug4
  23. 25. December Will Be Magic Again (7.58) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/release_full/discography/kate-bush-december-will-be-magic-again-emi.jpg Kate's Christmas single. Nuff said. pZiadb3bpOI
  24. 25. Them Heavy People (7.58) http://www.fragglerockmusic.com/import/images/LP-KATE-BUSH-On-Stage.jpeg A live version was released on the On Stage EP with the original on The Kick Inside. All about her need to learn and keep on learning, this was revisted again by Kate later on, especially on Sat In Your Lap. qfNtPbHkp0U
  25. Have you heard Lionheart? Hammer Horror is from there...
