  1. 27. And So Is Love (7.55) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullwidth_image/AndSoIsLove_Best.jpg The final of the singles from The Red Shoes, this doesn't reach the heights of the best of that album but it's subdued feel probably reflects the feel of the lyrics. It does suffer from the presence of another superstar guest - Eric Clapton - why does she feel it is necessary to have these people consistently muck up her songs? qxrwE6Hc9UA
  2. 28. Lyra (7.27) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/release_full/discography/Lyra.jpeg Absolutely gorgeous track from the Golden Compass soundtrack. I guess the days of Kate appearing on the singles charts are well behind her but I really wanted this to get into the Top 40. Some hope! kmdHWrF2-ZY
  3. 29. Hammer Horror (7.00) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/6/6e/Hammer_Horror.jpg Next up is Kate's tale of an actor's guilt on taking a dead friend's place. With possibly the best head shot cover ever. XR4KnfcgLm0
  4. 30. Love and Anger (6.91) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b8/Love_and_Anger.jpg Now I can only think that this is so low because of the outstanding quality of the tracks above it. This is a tremendous song lifted from what I think is her most under-rated album, The Sensual World. xyEHKGDSg5I
  5. 30. Rocket Man (6.92) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/release_full/discography/Rocket-Man.jpg I listened to this a lot when it came out as even though it was by an artist I really didn't like very much, I could listen to her sing absolutely anything. Converting the Elton John tune to a piece of reggae-lite it does veer way too close to Radio 2 territory. A bit Kate by numbers to be honest. Pjn1sNUnGyY
  6. 32. Eat The Music (6.63) http://gaffa.org/sensual/p_etm2.jpg This is a pleasant enough little African pop inspired ditty that seems to provoke some extreme reactions online. Only released as a single in the US, it reached #10 on one of the incredible number of different charts they have over there which I guess made it fairly popular. GPB4GM-WwwY
  7. So having finished the album results here are the singles... 33. The Man I Love (6.36) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/release_full/discography/TheManILove_Best_0.jpg Definitely the track that stands out from the rest of her oeuvre (and for the wrong reasons for you lot). The actual release was credited to Kate Bush and Larry Adler, this is a cover of a 1927 Gershwin tune and while it is pleasant enough it is completely overshadowed by just about everything else she ever recorded and so deservedly comes bottom of our singles poll. 2PRYhDItPT0

  9. Get it. I seriously doubt you will be disappointed.
  10. Do you really want to know?
  11. All of which means buzzjack's favourite KB album is... 1. The Hounds of Love (10.00) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullwidth_image/HOL.jpg What more can be said about this album. A regular in All Time Best Album lists, this could very well be a perfect album. Much is made of Abbey Road's suite of continuous music, but the second side of the original album (entitled The Ninth Wave) towers above it. A seamless piece of music that truly represents the best of Ms Bush. ktkRzVEMQCo
  12. So your Number 2 album is... http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/products/The-Dreaming.jpg 2. The Dreaming (9.90) Probably the hardcore KB fan's album of choice, this record saw Kate truly come of age. Containing some truly experimental music including the brilliant title track with it's Australian rhythms, the albums subject matter incorporates everything from a song about Houdini to trying to get inside the the head of a Vietcong fighter. A totally diverse record and yet another brilliant album. Jkhnr6H4QZg

  14. That's not actually true anymore. Kids are only allowed leave n exceptional circumstances.
  15. Confirmed
  16. Storms is rather good too. This is shaping up to be a fabulous EP.
  17. Well I have my entry and a back up as well if needed. Going for that bottom five of the final again which looks like my comfort zone now.
  18. Never realised I gave you so many points! (And they were all deserved) You will qualify sooner rather than later. Then it probably will be a win! I usually enjoy your entries so I look forward to the next one.
  19. My tastes are wide ranging and I can appreciate lots of different things. I just get bored easily and constantly move through different phases. But this is just fantastic!
  20. So it's The Dreaming vs The Hounds of Love - which came out top? And it was just 0.1 points between the two!
  21. 03. The Kick Inside (9.00) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullwidth_image/The%20Kick%20Inside.jpg So in the bronze medal position we have Kate's debut. Released after Wuthering Heights made #1, this album is full of pure romanticism and pure sex. From Oh To Be In Love and The Man With The Child In His Eyes to Feel It and L'Amour. How she wrote some of these songs at the age of 13 leaves me gobsmacked. A brilliant debut and unlike other artists she was left to develop and experiment with her sound. An amazing record. 4JSiBc056tY
  22. 04. Never For Ever (8.30) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/fullwidth_image/Never%20For%20Ever.jpg This album is the start of Kate's experimentalistic streak coming to the fore. With it's tales of shunned wives, ornery old composers and babies born into a post nuclear holocaust it was a true masterpiece only trumped by the next two albums. The cover seemed to articulate this tremendous burst of female creativity showing a cornucopia of fantastical creatures issuing forth from under Kate's skirt(!). And it was the first ever album by a solo female artist to hit #1 (although why we had to wait until 1980 for that feat is mind-boggling) 5b5eho1urfk
  23. 05. The Sensual World (7.91) http://www.katebush.com/sites/default/files/products/The-Sensual-World.jpg Taking the fifth place spot is the 1989 album The Sensual World. This album houses for me the best moment of any Kate song - everytime she says yes throughout the title track just leaves me with a dropped jaw. So gorgeous. And the rest of it is not far behind. This Woman's Work is just one of the most gorgeous songs committed to tape and tracks like Rocket's Tail and Never Be Mine with their vocal from Les Trio Bulgarka just add to the brilliance. 7yeimyOsdrA
  24. Trolling through some music blogs I came across a couple of tracks by the Berlin based Swedish duo Iberia. So I Proceeded to check out their album which came out at the end of March. And by golly it is good. Mixing heavy electro beats and dream pop, they've produced an absolute peach of an album. 01, ACAB 02. FCUK 03. 04. In Love 05. 06. 07. Tomorrow Forever 08. Swansea 09.
