I would love another run at this soon as I got more out of this than the last 3 or 4 Unknown Pleasures.

Can't believe I completely missed the results! Good contest everyone. I didn't know the Deerhunter track (tho of course I know Deerhunter!) so I gave it good marks. Great winner but the biggest mystery is how that tripe ended up at #3. The only track I gave a big fat zero to when I was rating them.

Oh I could enter a song that would go onto be a international #1 and it would still not be to buzzjack's tastes... ...Oh wait I already did that.

I just have to say that was one of the worst semis I have had the misfortune to be involved in. So boring.

Yeah but no-one's perfect! :) No, joking aside, it's an interesting thread. There's plenty of other stuff in your Top 3's that I love. Shame Unbelievable and the Beehives didn't quite make the top.

I think you really had to be a fan to notice that. I don't mind a bit of Erasure now and again but it took me a long time to get even that far. And I still can't get that image of a sweaty man in a PVC leotard and tights out of my head when I think of them.

God I really got so fed up with Erasure. For a long time they had turned into the Status Quo of synth pop for me, every song just sounding like a rehashed version of the previous one.

This is absolute shit and why the hell does this belong here. I'm been fairly lax about what music is discussed in here and just about any alt-pop strumpet has been allowed in here. This is another matter.

Like A daydream is my fav Ride song but I doubt that'll broach your Top 3. Think it made something like #37 in 1990. Do love Twisterella too. Think I had that on a Cassingle! Saw them at Reading that year (still have the bootleg tape) as well as Pixies as headliners.

This is really interesting. It's quite a nostalgia fest for me as I did like the odd chart track back then. Although if I did this myself I would have to find out the indie charts for the time as Ride and Chapterhouse would have been #1 half the time and Mudhoney and Soundgarden the other. Yes I liked Grunge AND Shoegaze.

I am such an inveterate downloader. There is a lot I'll probably never listen to but I've had so many albums that have taken years (or decades) to click. Part of my stash is a digital copy of my CD collection which alone probably amounts to 3000 CDs. I have done virtually nothing but listen to music since the day I bought my first album.

Oh man! I seriously have to have a cull of my mp3's. I have over 125,000 tracks!!!! No way I'll ever listen to all of those. Mainly I listen in the car during the 2 hours I spend driving every day with my mp3 player hooked into an fm transmitter and then as much as I can at other times. I don't tend to listen to new albums as much as I used to, just cherry picking tracks. There are about 50-60 weekly favourites in a playlist and these constitute the backbone of my listening habits. Then whatever takes my fancy the rest of the time.

Mine are in - only 15 mins late! One song really grew on me in the last hour, ended up getting my 12!

It's just nice to like nearly every song here. Gonna be hard to order them.
