Tulisa - Lick My Beat
"Lick My Beat" - WTF? That chalymadia ridden slag is so crude.

Slovenia 2013
Great entry from Slovenia! Very contemporary, I have a Rita Oral/Kelly Rowland vibe to this. I do hope this make it. Though I keep thinking "Verjamem" all over again :( Can see this getting 6 or 7 from the UK easily.

Will/Justin - If this goes to #1, there is something wrong with the UK. Obsessive fans will contribute. Pink can forget #1 then :(

One Hit Wonders of the 2010s
I used to call that Templecloud song "Vodafone Family" lol. Perhaps if she has not gone back to work/uni etc she could re-release it as a voda campaign :D

Even so, why go for a sound everyone is using. Be true to your roots.

This is The Saturday's weakest single. Why they have to lower themselves and sing with the likes of Sean Paul I would love to know. I hope it doesn't go to #1. The girls can do A LOT better. f*** America, get focused on the UK and building a career in Europe. Justin Beiber ft Will.I.am - Heard it today, even worse than that amobination with clapped-out Britney. If that goes to #1, I am giving up on the singles chart. It's becoming too controlled.

1D #1 - Shows the sheep will buy anything. How many copies has Cameron bought?

Did anyone collect those Top of the Pops albums?

Melodifestivalen 2013 / FINALEN · Stockholm
Honestly Robin was the best choice imo. Ulrik had a good song, as did Anton and Louise. Swedish House Wives despite it being cheap as anything would have been a good entry too lol I would have given Eddie Razaz a chance too! Yohio - I think he would put people off voting especially in some conservative countries like Azerbaijan/Russia. For some reason I could see him getting the same result as Alexey Vobroyov - in fact both songs are alike!! "Paris" was the 32nd place song.....VERY unsuitable for ESC.

Waterloo Road
Guess not. Remember - it's not about drama and realism....it's all let's have ratings. It's what killing TV today. If they think this will win the flock back.....think again - even a programme aimed at old grannies "Emmerdale" gets more viewers.
-
Azerbaijan 2013
Hopefully a song in Azeri, but it seems Azeri's are ashamed of their own language.
-
Romania 2013
Awful. This is Bulgaria 2009 all over again. Electric Fence, Luminita, Elena or Natalia would have been the better choices.
-
Serbia 2013
Great choice Serbia!! Catchy modern song. Will win the juries and televoters easily. I think top 5 in the final is certain. The JESC girl in the group is actually from a Serbian part of Kosovo - once again...the Kosovo magic could work...
-
Belarus 2013
I have to say the change of song was wise. A catchy up-tempo ethno entry with the right performance will qualify Belarus and possibly get top 15 placing.
-
Hungary 2013
I quite like this! Once again Hungary send a quality entry. I hope all or 50% of it is kept in Hungarian. A very pleasent entry and could win over the juries. Possible borderline qualifier and one of the best songs of 2013.
-
Spain 2013
It's pleasent enough, but I think Spain will be contending with the UK as least placed automatic qualifier.
-
United Kingdom 2013
Desperate. Time to pull out or give it to someone who gives a damn about Eurovision.

National Finals: Lost classics
NMGP: Nora Foss-Al Jabri - "Somewhere Beautiful" (2nd 2012) - This could have gone top 10 in Baku. Very powerful ballad. Irresistible - "Elevator" (SF 2012) - Very Saturdays-esque, contemporary and would have been a good entry for Norway Nora Noor - "Gone With The Wind" (SF 2011) - Amy/Adele soul number - would have worked very well. Girl Happy - "SOS" (SF 2011) - Electro-pop number. Would have been a good entry in ESC. Sichelle - "Trenger Mer" (SF 2011) - Agnes in Norwegian!! Very underrated and catchy. Mira Craig - "I'll Take You High" (SF 2010) - Soul ballad, very powerful voice. Top 5 easily on home soil. Sichelle - "Left, Right" (SF 2009) - Think Alesha Dixon....great song, memorable chorus. This could have won too! Tone Damli - "Butterflies" (2nd 2009) - LOVE this. This could have won too!

Seconded. Has the guy lost his cherry yet? It's like something a desperate 18 yr old would write to get someone into bed.

Songs you thought got to #1...
Samantha Mumba - "Gotta Tell You" - was shocked this was #2 Dido - "White Flag" - Considering it's her most known song, it's a shock this was not #1 Tina Turner - "The Best", "Private Dancer" and "What's Love Got To Do With It" - I thought these were all huge #1s - shocked "Private Dancer" did not make top 20 :(
-
Most surprising #1s?
"Boys and Girls" was a surprise indeed. I didn't expect Pixie to start her career with 2 #1s. I also found "All About Tonight" a shocker as I thought The Saturdays or even Leona had it sewn. Iyaz with "Replay" - then yet again January is a REALLY weird month. "Run This Town" by Jay Z/Rihanna/Kayne - I thought "Get Sexy" had it in the bag. Guess the fanbase of the three artists helped A LOT. "Crossroads" by Blazin Squad - I thought "oh it's just a bit of hype, they'd be forgotten come the singles".....how wrong was I. Some of the forgettable ones could be seen as surprises. "Gym and Tonic" is more of a club track...guess it must have been a low scoring week?

Songs that you expected to get to #1...
Justin Beiber - Boyfriend - Considering the hype, I was shocked it didn't make the summit. Another vote for Rihanna ft Eninem and Maroon 5 ft Christina Aguilera - shame they were long running #2s :( Samantha Mumba - Gotta Tell You - this was EVERYWHERE! Another one which is very lesser known: Preeya Kalidas - Shakalaka Baby - Limped into about #37 - had potential to be a huge summer hit.
