  1. Seriously...why has Florida got a contract? Nothing but a gimmick artist for drunk idiots. "No Freedom" by Dido #79 = Thought this would at least make the top 40. Still there is always the album.
  2. 1993 was my first time when I was 8. I had no idea what it was until Sonia had her pre selection in 1993 for the UK. I only remember my parents wanting "Better The Devil You Know" winning as that was the most Eurovision friendly song. I became a bit of an ESC loon in 2002 following national finals. 2007 has to be the worst contest. Me and an ex guessed all points correctly and most of it was a fag break. Since last year my interest is not the same. I feel now the contest has a lack of identity and with most songs in English and hiring rent a Swede composers...its not the same. I am watching 2013 but as your average member of the public not as a fan.
  3. Probably the government who complained...remember the BBC is under the wing of the Tories. I have to admit I do like Rita Oral's new single. Shame it wasn't #1
  4. Sadly, this seems to be a way with a lot of artists. I think another reason is a flat-lining economy and caring about fame is their way to success. To these acts it's not about the music at all. If the Sats were bona-fide - they'd accept flop albums, #38 singles and the rest.
  5. "Army of Me" is a weak way of following up a #1 - he'll be that in thread soon as I can not see this maintaining a peak. Ouch @ "Rattle"...2013's first non number one. Apoligies about my language - it just feels wrong X-Factor winners have to wait to release a follow-up.
  6. I think this is his weakest single - even weaker than "Oh My Goodness". Shame for him :( Olly rate: 1 Heart on my Sleeve - Why the hate for this?? Should have been #1 2 Troublemaker 3 Heart Skips A Beat 4 Thinking Of Me 5 Please Don't Let Me Go 6 Busy (All of the above great) OK 7 Dance With Me Tonight - Sick of Heart playing this to death Meh 8 Oh My Goodness Shit 9 Army of Two
  7. The Saturdays should forget cracking America. Why not Europe? Germany, Italy, France, Sweden even the Netherlands have lucrative markets. Plus Asia - Thailand/Korea and the like LOVE pop music!! It does seem they've been too fake and artificial and their singles are getting worse. Hiring Sean Paul is desperation and the biggest sell-out ever. I hope people see sense and don't buy it so it punishes them. The girls died in my eyes after "30 Days".
  8. Rather Dido Top 40 instead of Wiley's chav crap. Surprised with Laura Mvula...get in there and do Brum proud! :-)
  9. Would love both the Tories and Lib Dumbs to have a bloody nose in this by-election. Thankfully the Tories will suffer. Prediction: 1 Orange Tories 2/3/4 anything between UKIP, Labour and the Tories 5/6 Health Action/TUSC To be honest, the coalition is dying. Both parties are losing their key supporters base - the Tories are alienating themselves from the electorate even more with the bedroom tax and now the AAA rating being downgraded. Ed Millband has found his feet, and is showing that he is a strong leader and the next PM. Although Labour are not perfect and have some liablities in the party e.g Liam Byrne - they're the safest and best option to lead this country out of the mess we are in.
  10. Cher - "If I Could Turn Back Time" Adele - "Chasing Payments" Nicole Scherzinger - "Poison" That song that is called "Heartbroken"....was about 2007/8 and played on mobiles in every bus/train/metro/underground route in the land at the time.
  11. My main genres are: Pop - mainly girlband stuff such through the ages from the Supremes and the Shirlettes to now with Little Mix. Eurodance - Cascada, Alexandra Stan and Inna with some 90s stuff thrown in - that was the golden era. Rock - Mainly the power rock of the 80s and 90s..and some heavy metal. Soul/Urban/R and B - I LOVE THE 90S URBAN/R AND B!!! These songs will never get old! Throw in some rap too but mainly UK acts such as The Streets, Professor Green. Country, opera, classical - all has their charms :) Music is a big banquet - why not sample all delights?

Lisa Maffia "All Over" is a great song. Remember that ugly bitch at the end with goofy teeth? :D

    Aimee ftw!! :cheer:
  14. I'm probably in a minority here, but I find it underwhelming aside from the chorus. Margaret will get a decent result in Malmo for Norway but that's it. "Bombo" - the girl can not sing.....but it's OK in studio. I think the entry which would have been a decent choice for the Norwegians would have been "Det er du" by Tom Hugo. Could get top 10 in a weak year like this. 2013 - out of what I've heard so far...only Germany has grabbed me. Very bad year this year. Hopefully Anouk will not disappoint :-)
  15. Physical CDs: Nicole Scherzinger - Killer Love En Vogue - The Best Of 2CD Both of these were on sale at HMV Bristol. Onto Head: Duffy - Rockferry (Deluxe) Various Artists - My songs The following were 50p...yes 50p the covers are missing but good music: James Morrison - Undiscovered Razorlight - Razorlight Girls Aloud - Mixed Up That's Entertainment: Holly Valance - Footprints.

Out of those songs Aimee is the only one with potential to qualify Ireland. Ryan is the only other decent one..the rest no way.

Kat is the Square's Queen of Vagina. What a slag. That said, Michael is better looking than Derek.
  18. Wasn't "One Love" released near Christmas?
  19. Shame his best track is nr20 :-(

That is the worst cover ever! She should have been jailed for that.

I switched on Capital and its............"Drinking From The Bottle" by Tinie Tempah. Hate this song. Now its that other staple "Hall of Fame". I did read somewhere that playlists are compiled by market research. Who are these people?!

Got it in one there. Plus "Moves Like fecking Jagger".

Sooo true :-) However....Heart was playing "Suit and Tie" by Justin Timberlake! Surprised they are not playing the following: "Please Dont Say You Love Me" by Gabrielle Aplin "Daylight" by Maroon 5 "Ghosts" by Charlene Soraya (Magic love it!) "Explosions" by Ellie Goulding All Heart friendly :-)

I have noticed with BOTH stations Capital and Heart, you can hear the same songs twice in two hours! I heard "Impossible" FOUR TIMES in two hours on Capital once. PLEASE!! Why not play "Change Your Life", "Thrift Shop" or Ellie Goulding's new one? The version of Heart we have which is sadly the London one based on our Freeview box....you would think Rihanna and Olly Murs stopped releasing singles as it is always "Only Girl" and "Dance With Me Tonight" endlessly of theirs! Surely "Stay" and "Army of Two" are friendly enough for their listeners? I suggest Olly snubs the station if they ask him to do interviews. The domination of Global/Bauer has led to the stagnation of charts. What you need is perhaps a few jury picks in the singles chart to stop the chart being stagnant or instant release for new singles.
  25. Queen of Vagina maybe in duet with that Mercy woman off X-Factor?
