The Flop thread!
That Snow track is a classic! Still sounds good nearly 20 years on. Back to the three flops, I remember the Lou Bega track. Its just "Mambo No5" with different lyrics. Tacky song. Do have a vague re-collection of the Christmas chart that year where they focused on acts who had big summer hit that failed to make Top 40! Lou, Enrique Igelsias (Rhythm Divine) and Thunderbugs (Its About Time You Were Mine). Shaggy is an odd case...big hits, flop, big hits. Knows his steps and is successfull. Wamdue Project...can see why this flopped but "King of My Castle" was no better either. Was that singer a transsexual and/or a porno star?

Wretch 22....random #1 "Don't Go" was - this was better but I am not keen on his music. Chico say no more. What was with all the kids in his videos? A bit Jimmy Saville-esque isn't it? Daniel Beddingfield...."Friday" what a ramble! We got the message she is comong back...end of lol

I quite like "Avenue and Alleways" - Surprised he wasn't top 10 after "Amarillo". The Meck song was waaay better than "Thunder in my heart", Vic Reeves - erm...interesting :P

Sadly this is how organisations hit back. you would expect this in Russia. I suggest we all follow the Vodafone Big 40 chart.

Poor Estelle, shame as that was a David Guetta track with character! I proudly have my copy of it in storage :D "Ego"....never liked this, then yet again a lot of Beyonce's stuff is average. Strong voice, but very average songs. Ditch Jay-Z and perhaps find a better song-writer to showcase her voice. The Charles and Eddie track is decent, but not "Would I Like To You" They came back again in 1995 with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlGgEbtw-Ak

I hear she charges one dollar for fulll sex...but that's another story :D Seriously, that was a piss-poor cover and she was VERY lucky it made top 40. Taio Cruz....crap, crap, crap. I remember hearing it on TV and thinking he could sue himself for plagarism! What was insulting was this came above Whitney Houston's "I Look To You" and Mini Viva "I Wish"

Does make you wonder if 2Pac isn't really dead. But that is another discussion. "Love them ho's" - Decent track but no "f*** It".

Memories! Awful but a guilty pleasure. I know the group tried for Ireland in Eurovision 2001 and didn't get selected.

As mentioned, that Blu Catrell song was doomed. Shame as she had a big voice and potential. What she doing now? Chaka Demus and Pliers.....decent track but the regaee buzz was dying off in 1994. "Illegall" - This was a hit across Europe as "La Tortura" but her voice does grate A LOT in this track. Shame she sings shite with that tosser Pitbull.

I just find it weird that happened with "Good Times".....what became of Jodie O'connor?

The Flop thread!
With "Good Times", I find that ironic it was #1 the week the shower of shit.....coalition was elected - how wrong were those record buyers and voters? "The Flood" should have been HUGE....poor Katie. I knew the Cornershop follow-up would be in there. The last I heard, they did a single wirh Rowetta (the man like woman from the first series of X-Factor) and that was 2006!

Cheers for that. Richard Fairbrass was quite tasty back in the day ;)

The Flop thread!
Were Right Said Fred gay? - I vaguely remember that song....a let down after two smash singles. Dizzee - meh, that song was. I had NO idea Deep Blue Something released a follow-up to "Breakfast at Tiffanys"! I think people bought the song thinking it would be like their #1. I LOVE that Blondie song....shame they can't recapture former glories :(

All X Factor finalists' top 200 hits

Songs you hate by bands you love...
Spice Girls - Wannabee - I know it's the first single, but it's trite! Madonna - Who's That Girl (weak), Erotica (Naaah), Don't Tell Me (bland) and anything by her 2008+ ABBA - Waterloo (It made them, but it's crap!) Culture Club - The Medal Song (crap) Blondie - Denis (Annoying) Bananarama - Love In The First Degree (Overrated) Guns N Roses - Knocking On Heaven's Door (THIS was their best placed hit?!?! November Rain was their mangum opus!) Queen - You're My Best Friend (Nahh), Flash (Very OTT), Hammer To Fall (Forgettable) Cher - Strong Enough (Too camp) Take That - Never Forget (I hate it), Shine (Very cheap), Up All Night (Weak), Rule The World (OVERRATED!) Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars (Even the group themselves as said that their new songs should be appreiciated!)

Even then, I can't see her making the top 10. She MURDERED it last night on CIN! Me thinks, she's finished.

The Flop thread!
I know it did bad, but WHOAH! I actually liked that song too. Even more so than "Primadonna"!
-
The Flop thread!
"What If I'm Right" and "The Boy Who Murdered Love" I adore! Both great songs, both should have done better and both better than their respective #1s (Even if "Once" is a good song). I know "Primadonna" didn't get to #1, but was "Power and Control" ever an official single? Shame Sandi isn't popular anymore, but hey it's all money-making machines who get the attention, but that's another discussion.

That "Gift of Christmas" song wasn't that bad! I was 11 at the time and it has now entered my head again lol. I do not remember the Blobby one. La Roux PLEASE release again! All your songs were fab!

Are you going as far as 1980s? Starship look to be a possible contender. The follow-up to "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now", "It's Not Over (Til It's Over) made #86! Phyllis Nelson of "Move Closer" fame, made #81 with her follow up "I Like You"
