Think Denmark should get a comfortable win over Slovakia here but were definitely due an upset after so many favourites winning.

It's more they should be held in a single country and a country that has footballing history. Qatar, the US and Saudi Arabia are not it.

The actual football was stellar but not so much the general atmosphere of the tournament. The videos coming out of Germany feel like a 'real tournament' for the first time since France 2016. Shame the WC is going to be spread across 3 countries - one the size of a continent - and the 2030 one is being held in three continents with 2034 going to Saudi Arabia ffs. Euro 2028 should be pretty good - being held in the home nations - but the next proper WC is going to be in 2038/2042.

ITV have certainly had the better set up so far, although I can only really comment on commentators as I mute the pundits during build and at half time for both channels. It's the football I want to watch not the talking. The Hungary v Switzerland game was a great pairing with Townsend and Tyldesley. The commentary on the BBC match was so bad I ended up muting it during active play which I don't normally. Hopefully a better pair of commentators this evening.

Some good choices in there - although a couple I'd never heard of. Very surprised at Primal Scream only getting the 1 point tbh. Less Than Jake are another great shout. Kind of odd to see a band as iconic as The Shadows get just 1 point.

Easier to qualify from these groups though.

Wish these guys would shut up about Yamal's age - let the lad stand on his own merits. We got the memo the first time, the hundredth time was unnecessary. Oh I agree with it completely - it definitely feels like the first real major tournament since France 2016 building up - Euro 2020 only really got exciting towards the latter stages and with England doing so well - I don't know why but I was just expecting a slightly more staid introduction.
