  1. It's generally thought that once you own your home you're more likely to vote Tory. You usually do this at an older age, but that age has been getting older and older over the past few years.
  2. Added to the OP.
  3. Think I'll give this a miss - not a fan of either. No doubt it'll chart though.

If we're counting Kanye and Ty Dolla signs outfit then surely we ought to count Silk Sonic.
  5. In what prison space? We're letting lags out early as we speak cos the system is full to bursting, where exactly are all these teenagers going to go?
  6. No sooner have I said that and see Nick Fletcher has backed Lee Anderson https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68787921
  7. Jesus Christ. Also I'm not sure she's going to be the last to do this, next few days could be interesting. Meanwhile Starmer says that he'd tell Netanyhu to stop - like that is any way a realistically likely tactic to work. There's some stuff he should just keep his mouth shut on. Do you ever feel like your choosing between dog shit or cat shit when it comes to choosing a PM?
  8. Submitted mine. Sadly a lot of good bands didn't make the cut because they haven't had a Top 40 hit or even a Top 75 going by polyhex. A few of the ones that did make the cut have done it with just one or two hits.
  9. He conjured it up as a distraction from his gaffe ridden first few days of the campaign and it's worked. Everybody's talking about this and not him being asked if he's captaining a sinking ship. Party HQ will be very pleased with how this has went.
  10. https://x.com/GBNEWS/status/1794722063288094969 Iain Duncan Smith things this new National Service should be extending to 15 and 16 year olds. At this point you do wonder if they're actively trying to lose this election? Who is this supposed to play well with.
  11. Even a Armed Forces minister thinks this is a stupid policy. Also only 30,000 places are for the military - the rest will be in public services. They are essentially looking to fill massive recruitment gaps in vital public services with bored free-labour teenagers. It's a scandal waiting to happen. They won't actually be able to do anything because of how much training these roles require - most currently need a Uni degree or at least a college diploma. If you are going to bring back national service you should at least actually make it national service. https://questions-statements.parliament.uk/...024-05-15/26391
  12. Those ratings are still low by historic standards - unless it does an out of the ordinary time-shift. Not the worst ratings ever like last weeks overnights - but I'm sure it'll still be causing some concern for the BBC. I can envisage a future where new episodes of the show only come out on Disney.
  13. Looking at how badly the Tory campaign has been going and how high Labour are polling I really think we could see Labour take more than 50% of the vote. The last time any party managed that was the Conservative's in 1931 with 55.0% of the vote. The Conservatives also managed it in 1900 with 50.2% of the vote.
  14. The people this affects are too young to vote (in practise current 18 year olds will turn 19 before this comes in). However I think everybody understands this won't stop at 18 year olds if it's brought in - the net will gradually widen - many of these youngsters will be in the same position. Hopefully most people with children decide they don't want to send their kids to war. He's trying to capture Reform voters who think current generations are too soft. He's also using this as a way to fill army and public service recruitment gaps which are down to poor pay, outsourced recruitment and . It's also only a multi-billion review which will likely lead to nothing.
  15. It might cost Labour a handful of seats in areas with high Muslim populations but aside from that it's likely to make a minor difference.
  16. I've been numbed by enough general election campaigns (especially 2017 when Corbyn got close to meaningful change) not to count chickens on this one. There's a lot of people out their who will say to pollsters they're voting Labour and then vote Tory anyway sadly. The swing Labour needs is massive.
  17. It is Blue Room by The Orb at 39:58. I'm not sure how OP has arrived at Born Slippy. Blue Room peaked at No 8.
  18. Andrea Leadsom standing down as well now.
  19. Tories still looking for candidates in 100 seats including my own with a 48 hour deadline. Many of them are Labour safe seats but you'd think you'd have candidates lined up before you call an election.

If you look at this weeks Top 20 there's no bands whatsoever. A few collaborations but no actual music groups. As someone who grew up in an era when boy bands and girl bands dominated the charts as well as a slew of rock bands why is the idea of boy bands / girl groups / indie or rock bands charting in the higher reaches of the charts so unthinkable now outside of the odd - usually rubbish - indie group. Is it all cos of TikToks or have labels decided to abandon groups altogether for other reasons?
  21. https://x.com/techneUK/status/1793911182337753166?r First TechneUK poll conducted partially after the announcement has the Conservatives at just 19%. Added Electoral Calculus seat projections in brackets as a bit of fun. Labour - 45 (519) Conservatives - 19 (34) Lib Dems - 12 (62) Reform UK - 14 (0) Green 5 (2) SNP 2 (12) Others 3 (5) https://x.com/techneUK/status/1793911182337753166?r
  22. Many simply won't vote. Could be one of the lowest turnout elections in the modern era.
  23. Can't believe the Tories actually think re-instating Matt Hancock or Bob Stewart is in anyway a good look before going to the country and asking to be re-elected. Two people who were kicked out the party for very good reasons and we now are expected to treat what they've done as okay.
  24. Sunak taking questions from Conservative councillors posing as ordinary workers/voters. This is embarrassingly basic stuff to be getting so wrong. https://bylinetimes.com/2024/05/23/rishi-su...ordinary-voter/
  25. If the Tories are really planning to take this line their going to end up laughed out office.... https://x.com/PickardJE/status/1793547209037787230?
