    How on Earth is 'Hair' third? Last I was aware it was on ~700k. Unless that figure for 'Breathe' is wrong.

     

    What a list though. *.* So many absolute bangers. No hesitation in saying that 'Got 2 Luv U' is one of my favourite songs of all time.

    Yeah, it's really disheartening and something's obviously amiss, but I'm holding out hope that they're waiting for the video release to begin properly pushing this. I'm just struggling to understand why they'd fork out for a single mix, only to let it flounder outside the Spotify top 200 for weeks on end while barely acknowledging its existence. This really could've been an instant smash.

    I'm genuinely so shocked that Capital aren't hammering them. I wonder if that has anything to do with Global and Syco?

    I don't imagine so, they're still playing WLM and give their GD singles a few spins now and again. They're always a bit odd with their playlisting and constantly jump on things late. They'll likely hammer it after the video release.

    It's not so much the fact that it's not taking off that's frustrating me (it's performing decently given the circumstances), it's more that... nothing's happening. The radio response is so muted and the fact that it's not managed to secure any relevant Spotify placements is alarming. At least with NMSS, they'd already had two monster smashes from the era (+ radio were still hammering both), and the parent album was still selling amazingly well. I do think the whole 'cut the era short' narrative is a bit premature, but none of this bodes well for future singles, which is a shame because the likes of 'Wasabi', 'Monster In Me', 'The Cure' etc are begging to be released.

    FFS. I'm so disheartened at everything. After taking a while for them to get used to how Spotify works and how to get a streaming hit, everything has been undone!? It's so bizarre. :(

    I just struggle to see why they went to the effort of recording a single mix with Ty, only to throw it out there with nothing supporting it. No NMF, no Hot Hits, no Capital airplay, no discount, no video, and not even a single tweet alluding to it all week.

     

    This should've been such an easy hit for them.

     

    (I hope to God they aren't waiting for the Brits to release the video after all. That would be a dreadful tactic).

    Also not even bothering to make this 59p while they wait for things to get going.

    The level of apathy they seem to have towards this single is a bit off-putting. I hope it at least gets a Hot Hits add this week, otherwise it's just going to languish in the lower end of the top 40 for weeks (if not drop out entirely).

    The only thing I can think is that they want a full tracking week for it on the chart and want to partner it with a 59p price reduction. If it doesn't come at midnight I assume the issues with the video are worse than just "waiting to get it back from the editor".

    That does make sense, although I reckon we would've at least had an announcement by now if it was out at midnight.

    I saw this. Homophobic tweets from 2013 have resurfaced following this announcement too. This isnt good

    She's already apologised. Twitter fans are just being insufferable as usual.

     

    I'm fine with the collab in all honesty, it's cute that they're giving her a platform and her Twitter response to the announcement was really sweet. And like Joe mentioned, it at least means no Nicki (and hopefully no WLM performance).

    This could now be true, the presenter just said they will be on again later. Could this be another SOTME moment? video debut and performance? i dont think it will have an impact but..

    That would be a bizarre tactic given that no one outside of Holland or their core fanbase are going to be aware of the performance. I wouldn’t put it past them though.

    What’s going on?

    Yeah, not to pile on the negativity, but virtually no Spotify and very little radio support is an absolute mess given how instrumental they are to a song becoming a hit. Literally no one knows this is out there beyond the fans. And the video not being out when slated is just the cherry on top. C'mon now, this era really needs to recover and it sure as hell isn't going to with this approach.
