  1. Ahh, exciting! I loved 'No Promises' (and 'Feels Great' with Fetty despite it being objectively trash), plus the Cheat Codes remix of 'Pretty Girl' made that song bearable, so consider me perched.
  2. I'm so perched for this. They've been sorely missed on radio for me (in that regard, I'm actually glad they didn't release a single from the reissue). SOTME was great, but I'm really hoping they come back with something a bit more innovative like 'Move'.

I actually forgot HGSS were Gen IV when I posted that -- they're by far by favourite mainline games. Absolutely packed with content (I rag on the newer gens constantly, but I really wish they'd take a few cues from HGSS/BW2 in terms of the post-game) -- plus the following Pokemon were iconic. With that in mind, I'd probably rate them IV > III > V > II > I > VI > VII. Did anyone else here if ever give Colosseum/XD a try? I always loved them but they get a pretty muted reaction on every other site I've visited.

Admittedly I haven't been following the chart much lately, but where on earth did 'Youngblood' come from? It's definitely among their best, but I just figured it was flopping like their last few singles. Oh and Jess Glynne > Solo (if only to extend Glynne's record). 'Solo' was great for a week or so but it hasn't held up as much as their previous singles for me.

It took me until the VC release of Crystal to realise you could actually catch Teddiursa and Phanpy right before/after Cherrygrove. I wish I'd known sooner because my early-game Gen II teams were always painfully generic . Good call on Golduck too, I always loved its Crystal sprite. I'm currently playing through Platinum for the first time since my original run back when it was first released. I've always considered Gen IV my least favourite, but in hindsight, it really is leaps and bounds ahead of Gen VI/Gen VII for me. For a start, it actually poses somewhat of a challenge and the hand-holding is near non-existent. It still has its issues; there's faaar too many mandatory HMs and it's a bit sluggish in general, but it's the most fun I've had playing a Pokemon game in a long while, and I'm enjoying trying out a few unconventional team picks like Carnivine and Armaldo.
  6. Probably Crash Team Racing in terms of individual games, but Pokemon probably eclipses it by faaar if we're counting the multiple games per generation. I must've played through RBY/GSC about 50 times in total as a kid. More recently, it's probably GTA V. I've sunk way too much of my time into such a toxic game. I imagine Fallout 4 isn't far behind.
  7. I'm still going to buy this regardless since I've played every mainline game since RB, but the the whole 'catering to new players' spiel they're pushing has me worried. It's almost shocking how much they've already simplified the games since the transition to 3D. I wouldn't be surprised if EVs/IVs had been eradicated, since apparently breeding/wild Pokemon battling are no-more. That plus being stuck with the original 151 (are they seriously going to limit the likes of Crobat/Blissey/Steelix et al. again?!) and what seems to be an exact replica of the original Kanto region which, while great for nostalgic purposes, is ridiculously bland and one-note. I'm hoping for a few new routes/towns here and there, but what we've seen doesn't really indicate that. Oh, and for the love of God, less unskippable cut-scenes and no f***ing Lillie/Hau. USUM is nigh-on unplayable for me.
  8. I found it seriously underwhelming when it first premiered, but it's probably my most listened to song of theirs now. The Cahill remix in particular goes off. 'Tears' is the weak link of this 'era' for me. 'Solo' is really strong, it reminds me of 'Rockabye' in how instant it clicked with me. Can easily see this reaching #1.
  9. Fantastic winner. Always loved the song but hearing it constantly in GTA V made me appreciate it even more. Same with 'Scandalous' too come to think of it; what a flawless soundtrack that game has. Thanks for hosting, really enjoyed revisiting some of these old classics!
  10. Sad that 'Move' missed out on the top 5, but a solid placing nonetheless. Oops at me giving all the Spice Girls' tracks their lowest scores. I was never a massive fan and their entire catalogue has aged horribly to me. 'Say You'll Be There' is undoubtedly their best though so I'm not opposed to it being in the final. Still, 'Pure Shores' to win. Timeless track.
  11. This is horrid. The bare-ass chorus, the clunky lyrics ('Kush Lovin' takes the cake), the awful mixing -- and perhaps the most offensive of all -- Bebe's verging-on-parody vocals. That's not even taking into account the fact that the entire premise of the song is absurd and ridiculously outdated. WHO greenlit this?
  12. The fact that you openly champion '2002' yet consider TIA 'not good' really makes me despair.
  13. I can't see either LM track winning so I'm totally here for 'Scandalous' clinching it. What an anthem.

Sad to see M-22/Medina so low considering it's doing decent enough on iTunes. Really willing for it to be a hit. Zayn's doing pretty appallingly with 'Let Me' isn't he?
  15. 'Outlines' is a massive bop and pretty well remembered for me, but then again I've got it on a few Spotify playlists. Same with 'Control', although I believe R1 give it a spin here and there which probably helps. This has been been the most apt example for me. I still barely remember it after listening to it, yet recall the release week rather well because of Pixie and Kylie. Probably for the best because it's bloody dreadful. ' (I'm a Freak' from that same week's a good example too, and even the #1 ('Tsunami') is kind of forgettable.

I could've guessed this was an Ed Sheeran co-write given how utterly heinous and clunky the lyrics are. Not quite 'Castle on the Hill' level, but still horrible. Can't wait for radio to rinse it for months on end.
  17. Oops at me giving DNA one of its lowest scores. I wasn't ever that fond of it, but I've found myself liking it less and less as time goes on. Probably bottom 5 LM singles for me. LMLY, on the other, has been a huge grower. What a song. 'Untouched' is amazing too, and 'Unpretty' and 'What About Us' are nice enough.
  18. I'm glad the horribly overrated 'Love Machine' is out. Sad to see 'Whole Again' leave though, it's an absolute classic. SLS does feel pretty forgotten, but I'm glad it's relatively high here. All of the girls sound amazing, but Perrie's vocals in particular absolutely kill me. A version with Pt 1's production and Pt 2's lyrics/overall message would definitely be a contender for my favourite LM song.
  19. Gotta' +1 with all of these. Although the most painful for me is 'Ocean Drive' by Duke Dumont. By FAR his best track and one of my all-time favourite songs.
  20. christ. ('Viva Forever' to bomb out at #41 pls).
  21. Yeah, 'Something New' is really just a racket to me. I hadn't realised its chart run was quite so terrible (deservedly so. :P). I never really 'got' WFH either. NMSS has always been a favourite of mine, but it's properly clicked with me this past week. I'd probably rate it ahead of 'Power' now and I actually regret not giving it a 10. Still not a bad showing here considering how overlooked it seems to be as a whole.
  22. Has anyone else notice that Radio 1 still give them a spin almost every day despite having no active single? I've heard 'Touch' and SOTME a lot recently (I wouldn't be surprised if they'd overtaken 'Wings' by now), and Grimmy even gave NMSS a play yesterday. It's great that they can maintain a radio presence even between eras.
  23. 'I Wanna Be The Only One' instantly reminds me of my childhood and never fails to make me smile. Brilliant track. 'Issues' is lovely too. Not overly surprised at SOTME being the first LM song to fall (although it should've been DNA imo). I'd probably rank it 5/5 as far as their 'Glory Days' singles go -- it's still an absolute anthem, but I can see how some might find it grating.

Is it really 'doing alright' though? Strong Capital airplay (plus video rotation) since release, Scott Mills' track of the week, a discount, and yet it still can't go top 30. It's pretty dead in the water I'd say, even if it does get added to Hot Hits.
  25. I loathe the majority of his singles, but 'Castle On The Hill' is another level. The lyrics are DREADFUL. 'Photograph' is my favourite and probably the only single I'd actively go out my way to listen to (albeit the Felix Jaehn remix). 'Don't' is alright too. Edit: I'm quite shocked 'Photograph' is in the lead actually. It always seemed the most forgotten of his recent singles, but I guess it wasn't killed by overplay as much as the others.
