No More Sad Songs (feat. Machine Gun Kelly) • 3rd Single
Shame, I really hope it doesn't underperform. It certainly doesn't deserve to be the track that breaks their hit streak. I still think it'll take off once the video's released. The Capital situation is still baffling to me. You'd think an act of their standing would be able to secure airplay right off the bat.

Added to the R1 C-list this week! Just need Capital to start giving it daytime spins now.

No More Sad Songs (feat. Machine Gun Kelly) • 3rd Single
How odd, I would've thought they were big enough to receive high rotation off the bat. Yeah, I'm still pretty certain it'll be a hit -- if Twitter is any indication, then the GP response seems to be similar to 'Touch' so far.

Considering how many Ed tracks are in front of it, I'd say it's doing pretty decently. It's receiving virtually no airplay right now. Was not expecting this to be anywhere near the top 100. I hope it becomes a hit, it's so infectious!

What's going on with Capital? They've added this to their playlist, but I've yet to hear it played. I'm sure they got on board with 'Touch' right away.

Yeah, I don't know why people are using the charity label to justify its underperformance -- if anything, that should have bolstered its sales. It was a definite flop, but it wasn't exactly well received so it was hardly a shock. I'd consider it their only flop really; 'How Ya Doin', 'Little Me' and 'Change Your Life' didn't do great, but they weren't nearly as big back then, and their swift chart runs weren't anything out of the ordinary back in 2013.

No More Sad Songs (feat. Machine Gun Kelly) • 3rd Single
Apparently they've re-ordered the Touch remix so that Kid Ink's part is now in place of the middle 8. I've yet to hear it, but many are saying it flows a lot better now.

It's out there. Actually a good remix -- MGK works well. I still prefer Jesy's middle 8, but I'd probably place him second to Sean Paul in terms of actual contribution to the track. The cover art is nice too!

Poor 'Hair', forever underrated. I do agree that this run tops any of their previous though. Beyond excited for the video. Do we reckon it'll come Friday too? As much as I want to see it, I think I'd prefer if they held off a bit and released it when the song has garnered a bit more airplay. It'd help it get a better peak later down the line (hopefully when the Ed Sheeran album tracks have vacated the top 40).

I doubt it, considering they haven't flopped since... 'Word Up'? Plus, NMSS screams 'hit'. I imagine it should go top 30 this week, possibly lower since Ed Sheeran will inevitably clog up the top 20. I echo those saying it won't peak for a while yet. 'Touch' took off almost instantly but it had the X Factor performance to boost it, and the chart was a lot quieter in December.

No More Sad Songs (feat. Machine Gun Kelly) • 3rd Single
Was definitely not expecting this to be revealed so soon -- yasss at NMSS and double yasss at 'Oops' being paid dust. 'Power' for single 4 please for two absolutely perfect eras. A run of BM > LMLY > SLS > 'Hair' > SOTME > 'Touch'> NMSS > 'Power' would be insane. Lol @ yet another rap feature, but good on them since it almost guarantees another smash.

Touch • 2nd Single
Yeah... no thanks. I LOVED Sean Paul's contribution to 'Hair', but Kid Ink actually detracts from the song as a whole. His ad libs are both pointless and ridiculously jarring. Thank Christ we still have the original. Oh and the middle 8 is gone. Great.

No More Sad Songs (feat. Machine Gun Kelly) • 3rd Single
Lord knows what they're filming at this point. After initially hammering 'Power', I think I'd actually prefer NMSS as single 3. However, it's definitely a logical choice given that it's performing best on Spotify/iTunes. More importantly, it means it'd spare us 'Oops' surely?

Oops (feat Charlie Puth) • Promo single
Yeah this pls. I think it's actually the only song of theirs I've began to dislike the more I've heard it, and I can't help but feel that it'd destroy all momentum they have going at the moment. NMSS should be next.

'Shout Out To My Ex' • 1st single • PART II
That makes sense; I did think it was falling fairly quickly on Spotify, even by their standards. Hopefully it manages to match BM's top 40 run, but it's done fantastic regardless.
-
Touch • 2nd Single
I really wish it was something they would do -- it would've pushed Hair/LMLY top 10 and SLS top 5 for sure. Great news about R1 playlist. Touch looks set to be a long-runner; I wouldn't be surprised to see it rack up more T40 weeks than SOTME (which seems to be dying off fairly quickly now).

Touch • 2nd Single
Surely it'll go Platinum regardless of a performance? It's performing better than SLS and it managed it.

Touch • 2nd Single
Brill! I imagine the Big Weekend announcement definitely helped its longevity. Bit ironic that this comes after me moaning about their lack of support over the past few eras.
-
Best followup Single?
'Touch' for me, but LMLY is a very close second. Poor 'Little Me'.
-
Best lead single?
The latter 3 are all ridiculously strong. I opted for SOTME though, since it's the one I bop to most, even despite hearing it an obscene amount the past few months. They're pretty much interchangeable though -- I imagine I'll have a new favourite by next week.

VOTE AFSC 3 : DEADLINE MONDAY 20TH!
It's got to be 'They Just Don't Know You' for me. That, or either of the other two 'Salute' deluxe tracks. Or possibly 'Freak'. The rest are largely awful I'm afraid. Edit: 'I Won't' is a good shout too. I actually forgot it was a deluxe track.

Radio 1 • Playlist Totals
Is 7 weeks really that many though? SOTME was removed far too prematurely imo, given the length of time some tracks have been getting on the playlist recently. I suppose you could argue they were making room for 'Touch', but that hardly stopped them with The Weeknd, The Chainsmokers, and obviously Ed Sheeran just now. I dunno, I always feel R1's support is always a step below what it really ought to be when it comes to LM. The SLS run was just shameful.
