  1. Jade was on Drag Race?! This completely passed me by. I've never watched an episode in my life, but I'll be sure to catch this since I know what a massive fan she is of the show.
  2. Ooft, this slaps.

Okay but April?! This is still a massive bop. I hate how her chart success literally nosedived after Ruin My Career (still one of her best tho).
  4. Ready Player One instantly springs to mind. What in the incel wet dream was that movie?!

Okay but where's the leaks at?? I need to know the final starter evos (before I inevitably box it due to them all being trash like the previous two gens). Seriously though, is it too much for them to actually resemble... monsters this time round? Delphox and the Gen 7 lot honestly make me shudder.
  6. Close to Me - 9/10 - mega (basic) bop. Flux - 2/10 - I can see why fans of ''''authentic'''' Ellie love this, but it's suuuuch a snooze fest. I've never been a fan of her ballads. Sixteen - 8/10 - I hate myself for loving this as much as I do. Hate Me - 1/10 - Ellie sis, why??? Rancid to the core.

I'm gobsmacked that it's been a year already. I just started a similar thread for 'Woman Like Me' and that feels much older. I remembered finding this so basic on first listen, especially for where Ellie is in her career, but man does it bop now. The Felix Cartal remix is still on my gym playlist. It's honestly top 5 Ellie for me.
  8. Gross. You're aware James Arthur exists, right? I voted Alexandra for both options, although neither have aged particularly well. 2009 was a shitty year in general for me (JFC at it being 10 year though, yikes) so I don't have particularly fond memories of either. I do feel they both bested their leads later down the line. 'All Night Long' and 'Promise This' are both massively superior to these two.

Okay but why has everything following 'Chasing Highs' been absolutely heinous? I actually non-ironically stanned her back in 2017. Karma>Dye My Hair>Bonfire>Don't You Feel It>All Stars>Chasing Highs was an incredible run of songs. It's made worse by the fact that the songs she's co-written recently (including both 'Mother's Daughter' and 'Slide Away') are all amazing. Where's the same quality control for her own material??

This whole 'love or hate' divide and the fact that this is so polarising is bizarre to me. Like... I've always been thoroughly whelmed by this song -- it stirs up no emotion for me either way. I don't even find her voice particularly irritating. That said, I do find its success completely baffling. It's just so nondescript.
  11. For me, this has actually grown on me massively since its release (especially the Banx & Ranx remix). The disdain towards it relative to their other leads is a bit overblown imo. Leigh's verse, the pre-chorus and the instrumental itself are all amazing, but the chorus does admittedly feel a little half-baked. Its chart performance is also massively underplayed for some reason. I get that the GD era was huuuge, but it was always going to be hard to replicate that level of success, and 'Only You' kinda forewarned us that the demand for the new era wasn't there as much as we anticipated. Tbh, I'm still incredibly impressed that it managed to reach #1 on Spotify (and have a rather lengthy stay there at that). I think anything approaching its success for their next lead would be a major accomplishment. It's also by far and way their best video (BRITs winner!!), so that helps.
  12. So October 12th marked the one-year anniversary for 'Woman Like Me'. Where does everyone stand in regards to this perpetually-underrated bop now? Do you think it contributed to the underperformance of LM5? Do you reckon something else from the album should've been released as the lead? (I realise this is incredibly late oooops, but I was in Brazil and had no internet for weeks).

Oh wow, I thought the hype was pretty much dead. I think I'll forever be bitter about this not being a single. I really think it could've done wonders for them at this point in their career.

A bonafide sma$h. Joking aside... at least it's not their lowest seller?

I see he's back in the press being as insufferable as ever. I truly hope this album bombs spectacularly.

Probably an upopular opinion, but Woody is an absolute drip. It's so nauseating. Georgina's eyerolls are my exact sentiments anytime he speaks. Yawn. Ella's not far behind with the faux 'I love everyone' bullshit, especially when she was actively speaking out against that sort of attitude and needlessly antagonising Brooke only a few weeks ago. She's certainly changed her tune as the final approaches. James/Sammie is a total sociopath but compelling viewing. Georgina is my choice to win but I wouldn't even be mad if he clinched it. He's played the game flawlessly up until last night.
  18. They're on now Radio 1 now! Confirmed 'Little Mix: The Search' on BBC1. Get that coin girls! (Grimmy also played 'Move'. Taste.) Edit: @1184880260036345857

The entire build-up to these games have honestly been a car crash. From the underwhelming graphics/animations from the get-go, to the horrific dyanmax gimmick, the Pokemon cuts, and now the obscene Kanto pandering. These games had to be pristine to justify the dex cut in my eyes, but literally nothing has served to drum up any semblance of hype. Even the new Pokemon (the few we've actually been exposed to) just feel like boring retreads. That being said, I'm actually kind of living for the level of backlash these games have been receiving. I doubt it'll actually harm sales, but it's nice to see the fans finally taking a stand given how overdue the criticism is. The series has low-key been in the gutter since XY. Like, it's still incomprehensible to me how anyone could enjoy Sun and Moon. Genuinely the most tedious games I've ever played. I can't get over it being a month from release, and that trailer was the best they could muster. The gen 1 lot are iconic to me: Pokemon Red was the first video game I ever played, and even I'm beyond pissed at the level of exposure the Kanto mons are receiving. The designs are largely trash, so the fact that they're put on some absurd pedastal when 90% of gen 3-7 mons are superior is an absolute mess. I can't even imagine how younger players that don't have any sentimental attachment towards them feel.
  20.:lol: Announce Wasabi as a single girls!! Honestly though, no idea what this could be about. Perhaps their rumoured BBC show?
  21. Ariana Grande: God is a Woman Beyoncé and Destiny's Child: Sweet Dreams/Bug a Boo Britney Spears: Gimme More Calvin Harris: Feel So Close Camila Cabello and Fifth Harmony: Never Be the Same/That's My Girl (does Motivation count here? Because I'd place that ahead of both) Charli XCX: Superlove Dua Lipa: Be the One Ellie Goulding: Goodness Gracious Girls Aloud and Solo: Call the Shots/Call My Name K-Pop: Kiss and Make Up Katy Perry: The One That Got Away Kylie and Dannii Minogue: Get Outta My Way Lady Gaga: Marry the Night Lana Del Rey: f*** it i love you Little Mix: Touch Madonna: Sorry One Direction and Solo: Kiss You/There You Are P!nk: Just Like a Pill Rihanna: Rude Boy Rita Ora: I Will Never Let You Down Robbie Williams and Take That: Kids/Back for Good RuPaul's Drag Race: I'm a flop and know precisely nothing about Drag Race Shawn Mendes: There's Nothing Holding Me Back Spice Girls and Solo: Who Do You Think You Are Taylor Swift: Out of the Woods Zara Larsson: I Would Like
  22. 1) 365 2) Bon Appetit (low-key the only salvageable ones, but both bops) 3) This Is How We Do 4) Birthday 5) Rise 6) Small Talk (I'd hate this less if it weren't for the abhorrent 'blah blah blah' lyric) 7) Thinking Of You (I... have no recollection of how this goes)
  23. I really like this and can easily see it growing with repeated plays. Love how understated it is! Leagues ahead of 'Small Talk' at least, but not exactly a high bar to clear since that's one of the most ill-advised single choices in... forever. I still can't get over the gulf in quality between it and NRO.
  24. pls no. Surely they wouldn't?? He is another RCA artist tho...

Ah, wholly agreed on Insurgence! I figured I was the only one dorky enough to play Pokemon fan games, but it's honestly embarrassing how much they upstage the official releases. Whew, the layers of innovation in some of the Delta redesigns. GameFreak could literally never.
