  1. Spain 2-2 Germany Portugal 2-1 France England 3-1 Switzerland Netherlands 2-2 Turkey
  2. Richard Tice making me want to change to the Sky coverage lol EDIT - *David Bull, they're all the same to me lol
  3. can anyone shed some light on why the expectation was a slightly lower turn out in these particular constituencies?
  4. Reform will be rubbing their hands together being 2nd in both seats though their candidate didn't look too impressed with his figure
  5. with that Sunderland result in mind, I think we'll see a disturbing % votershare for Reform (maybe 18-20%??)
  6. was anyone else expecting a slightly smaller share of Tory & Reform seats in the Exit Polls? I'm still hoping for >100 Conservative seats!
  7. delighted to see that scumbag Akhmed Yakoob has supposedly less than 1% chance of winning in Birmingham Ladywood despite claiming repeatedly on social media the last few days that he's confident he'll win by a 'large majority'
  8. think we will see a lot of predominantly working class seats with Labour/Reform % shares comparable to what we would expect from Tory/Labour shares in past elections
  9. :hi: fellow Brummie he's basically a single issue candidate - even though he would obviously have zero impact on the Gaza situation if he was voted in he's using it as a ploy to garner support, as those with lesser political literacy would assume that 1) he will make an impact on the Gaza situation & 2) he's the only candidate running that supports Gaza (which is obviously false, but he's done a very good job of framing it on social media as if he is). pretty sure he's just running to boost his own ego, he's got no regard for the city of Birmingham (I've seen pictures on Twitter of him parking his £100,000 car on both double yellow lines & accessible/disabled parking spots in the city centre )
  10. there's an Independent candidate in my constituency (Akhmed Yakoob, for those interested) with some pretty horrific views on women and the LGBTQ+ community who's been polling at 20-30% over the last few weeks - practically all of his voters are from the communities just outside the city centre of with particularly conservative religious views (little none of my neighbours or co-workers are voting for him), but it's still immensely depressing that in this day and age such a candidate can still garner such popularity :(
  11. he’s nowhere near as good as Gallagher, agreed, but considering we’ve got European fixtures to think about & we’re rumoured to be selling either Ugochukwu or Chukwemeka it seems a sensible move. Would rather see someone like Dewsbury-Hall than another random 17 year old from South America
  12. delighted to see Dewsbury-Hall come to Chelsea, a rare solid signing from us

France were desperately poor going forward yesterday. reminiscent of England in the group stages. but they got the result which is all that matters. can’t see them getting anywhere near winning the tournament but you never know

agree with everything RabbitFurCoat has said. some England fans are so constantly negative it’s exhausting. the fact of the matter is that France’s performances have been arguably just as bad as ours, Portugal have been only slightly better, the Netherlands could very well qualify with the same sense of underwhelm (not to mention Italy, Croatia, and Belgium - all teams that are already eliminated despite having similar high expectations as England) but for some reason we’re levelling all our criticism at England? the tournament is wide open, we’re in the last 8 with every chance of pushing on to the final, which we would have taken in a heartbeat at any point between 2006-16. the sense of entitlement coming from some England fans despite the fact we’re getting the results we need is infuriating

surprised to see that you fancied Italy considering how poor they were in the group stage!

I do wish we'd called up Dier over Dunk & Maddison over Wharton (not anything against Wharton, but Southgate has made it quite obvious he's not going to get many/any minutes)

I don't feel like there was much 'fun factor' in 2022, beating piss poor Wales & Iran sides and limping out to France in the quarters. the mood in the pub I watched the game in was positive at full time. regardless of how we played today, we're in the last 8 of Europe with a reasonably favourable draw (yes Switzerland have been strong in places so far but would rather draw them than the likes of Spain) and a strong defence - there's every reason to be at least reasonably optimistic.
  19. ‘HOT TO GO!’ up to #24 :)
  20. the idea of ‘Pink Pony Club’ going top 50 is sooo exciting
  21. would much rather have Italy in the quarters than Switzerland! my biggest concern would be a semi final against Austria
