UK General Election 2024
indeed, however it is a travesty that we must take it as a foregone conclusion that so many people are unwilling to do their research and realise how morally questionable the Labour Party is in 2024 + therefore it becomes necessary for some politically educated people to vote for labour as they’re the only realistic alternative to the Tories. i long for the day Green becomes a feasible option in more areas than just Bristol and Brighton. my neighbourhood in Birmingham had Green second in the local election behind labour, but is mostly made up of reasonably well-educated young professionals/creatives. in so many working class areas across Britain political literacy is so poor - through no fault of their own, mind - that an alternative to red or blue seems an impossibility in the near future. it is saddening

Euro 2024 Qualification
i don't know how Rice slipped my mind  Trent's on the bench in which case. I really do think we should start Palmer for the first few group stage games to see how he fares

Jade's Top 40 | #373 (25.05.24)
hello! it's lovely to see someone else enjoying 'Starburster'! I would say it's their best lead single yet - I'm very much excited for the album, expecting a bit of a switch-up in sound compared to their last few nice to see you charting 'Soon', the synths remind me of pre-2019 TR/ST which is quite the throwback also, lovely to see 1-800-GIRLS sneaking in to the chart - I was lucky enough to see him live a few months ago, one of the best live shows I've been to in a good while  great chart ^^

UK General Election 2024
this is why I'm becoming increasingly critical of people's sentiments of voting for labour simply 'because they're better than the tories' ... oh to be in such a privileged position where you convince yourself you're acting for the good of the common man by voting for a party that still actively condone a literal genocide

UK General Election 2024
and indeed it would be if our nation had not initially voted in a laughing stock ~5 years ago/voted Conservative in 2017... all of it is laughable, neither party are fit to run the country, both are complicit in a genocide to varying degrees. these are two men, neither of whom are in touch with the needs of British people + indeed the action necessary regarding various global conflicts you may be too busy to laugh (whatever that means, I'm busy too but still have the time to acknowledge the sheer misery of this whole situation), but I cannot help but laugh in despair that we went from nearly voting in Corbyn six years ago to being stuck with Sunak or Starmer in 2024

PinkPantheress - Turn it up
i mean, in the context of the type of music she makes i kind of get where she was coming from but this is a pretty horrific take overall

Central Cee & Lil Baby - BAND4BAND
might be a contender for worst song of the year so far

certainly wasn’t expecting to see ‘BAND4BAND’ climb much higher than its initial peak

UK General Election 2024
surely in this instance people are most likely to watch the debates to laugh at Sunak as opposed to help them inform their decision on who to vote for :,) I very much doubt many viewers will go into the debate still on the fence

that the fluctuating streams for ‘LUNCH’ have something to do with Spotify’s algorithm alternating which songs from the Billie album get promoted more on autoplay

Euro 2024 Qualification
with the start of the Euros just a few weeks away, what do we think England's strongest starting 11 is? I would tentatively go with: Pickford Shaw*/Maguire/Stones/Walker Alexander-Arnold/Bellingham Palmer/Foden/Saka Kane *fitness permitting, if he's not fit then honestly God knows

to add fuel to the 'autopayola' fire, I've gone from being auto-played 'LUNCH' after every pop song with a female vocalist for the past week or so, to suddenly never getting 'LUNCH' but instead 'BIRDS OF A FEATHER'. makes you think...

Coldplay, Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna & TINI - WE PRAY
sounds like chalk and cheese on paper. hopefully the Simz collab indicates that Coldplay intend to tap into their more artistic side on this, though 🤞

2023-24 FA Cup
yeah he's been distinctly average pretty much all season but was 10/10 today in my book - did exactly what was expected of him and made countless crucial tackles/had Doku in his pocket. certainly not saying he *is* world class though
-
2023-24 FA Cup
unbelievable achievement for ten Hag & United - thoroughly deserved. seeing a lot of people say City's performance was poor, but I think it was more a case of United performing spectacularly in defence. Wan-Bissaka was world class.

Summer 2024 Football Managerial Changes
as are the very vast majority of Chelsea fans, I’m gutted to see Poch go - and despite it being portrayed as a mutual agreement, it’s quite evident that Boehly and co have wanted him out for months. the lack of patience from the new ownership is getting exhausting - towards the end of this season it genuinely felt as though we were getting somewhere as a side, in no small part down to Poch and the strong relationships he’d built with our younger players. have seen multiple of our squad voice their disapproval at his departure on social media. cue the inevitable hiring of a manager with zero Premier League experience + influx of more young players to replace the first team players considered ‘not good enough’ by the ownership. UK General Election 2024
although swapping out the Tories for Labour feels like getting kicked in the balls as opposed to being punched in the face, I’m pleased that the shitshow under Sunak is inevitably drawing to a close. certainly wasn’t expecting an election before autumn!

Chappell Roan - Good Luck, Babe!
I finally got round to listening to ‘The Rise and Fall of a Midwestern Princess’ and I’m floored, one of the most consistent pop albums in recent memory. obsessed with ‘Femininomenon’ right now <3
