my second late entry being an almost certain veto :cheeseblock: brainstorm time xx

mess, my first (late) confirmation had already been sent and I fear my second (even later) confirmation may be a borderline veto, chaos from Hinterlandia this month x

I was reminiscing about this song just the other night, very much agree with the sentiment that it's one of those tracks that should never be tampered with. going to try my hardest to avoid hearing this song (please don't become a hit)

but does he deserve the privilege of being able to roam about freely given the morally abhorrent crimes he's commited? I struggle to see how anyone could not see him deserving a custodial sentence tbf

it's been brilliant see the resurgence of pop girls being the biggest chart stars in 2024! most culturally prominent since the late 00's probably

yeah 'Rise's peak of #25 is totally comparable to 'Die With A Smile' being a multi-week top 10 hit lol

feels like a bit of a sudden jump, any particular reason?

literally have nothing for this month, don't expect much from Hinterlandia this time round x

I couldn't disagree more with the idea that The Weeknd wasn't a massive star until Blinding Lights tbf, fair enough he wasn't quite as omnipresent on the radio or in the charts but he released that track on the back of two extremely successful album rollout within the previous three years. Worth It/The Hills/Can't Feel My Face and then Starboy/I Feel It Coming were both globally successful single combos. calling The Weeknd's career 'pre-fame' is just baffling lol (for what it's worth the 300k debut for his latest song is pretty much in line with what I expected)

Hinterlandia has cast its votes x I can't say I love anything from this month quite as much as my top 3 from last month but still a rather strong final nonetheless ~

this is such a stunning, well-crafted pop track. would be HERE for it smashing over the next few months, surely a matter of when not if x
