  1. That's ridiculous! Surely it'd be easy for the OCC to distinguish which album it's streamed from?
  2. Killers did go Platinum with their recent set and it's still selling. As to streaming points, I'm assuming if you chose to stream, say When You Were Young from its main album, Sam's Town, the streaming points go to that, but if you chose the same track but on the album Direct Hits, the points go to the hits album and only that?
  3. Nah, its two fold - mainly if you write a song your connection and meaning with the song is of course infinitely higher than one that has arrived on your desk. it's hardly written from your deepest self. Secondly and more importantly is the talent involved, with 7bn people on the planet there are a lot of good voices - creating original music worthy of impacting people and lasting is an extrodinarily rare and far superior talent, imo.
  4. Yes they've finished it and have filmed the video! The final part of the bad santa trilogy feat. Ryan Pardey. They also said they're looking to end the tradition soon - when they have enough for an album (so maybe one more after this one) they'll put it out as a record which will hopefully earn some money for Red. New album being produced by Flood and Alan Moulder (the producing duo of Sam's Town) if anyones interested!
  5. Can anybody tell me where Brandon Flowers - The Desired Effect is please?

Every Killers album - studio or compilation - has now received Platinum status in the UK :D all 6
  7. Brandon Flowers misses out on the top 100 :( Only 5 days on sale, #60 on sales only. Amazingly Killers Direct Hits back top 40 albums somehow though.
  8. U2 have been talking *a lot* lately about how to stay relevant and how to get young people to buy an album these days. I live in hope.
  9. Killers - Direct Hits & Keane - Best Of & Jake bugg - shangri la please! And if you have it Killers - shot at the night.
  10. Here you go: A great big sled: #11 on the download chart (in eligible for main chart at the time) Don't shoot me Santa: #34 Joseph, Better you than me: #88 Happy birthday Guadalupe: #110 Boots: #53 Cowboys Christmas ball: #112 I feel it in my bones: #70 Christmas in LA: #92

Good to see The Killers climbing and overtaking Keane even before the X factor performance.

I hope they get R1 support next era, but this song certainly doesn't feel very radio 1. Even though they supported Shot at the Night, they left the last single off BB, Here With Me, to R2, because of the sort of song it is, so hopefully it's more the song than the band!
  13. Thing is, a vast number of people own the first three killers albums (so 3/4 of this one), all million+ sellers, the same can't be said for Keanes albums past their first, so their collection could sell better, because they've been less successful... If that makes sense. Secondly I noted the keane release has a b-sides disc on the deluxe, a big incentive for their fanbase to buy it, Killers one has no equivelant (as they've had a b-sides standalone album), so little incentive for the fanbase to buy. Maybe it'll be a seller overtime. Thirdly the john Lewis advert I'm sure is doing keane wonders.
  14. Yep, it's called 'Christmas in LA', due on or around Dec 1st (world aids day), it's featuring a band called Dawes and is produced by Steve Lillywhite. These never do much on the charts these days, but it's a great tradition that the band and fans seems to love.
  15. JAG is not a single no, pure cherry picking. To be expected when they have so many fans who have all their studio albums so wouldn't buy a greatest hits. As to SATN it is a shame they cancelled it's release, but hey, it's out and #15 on itunes so really doing far better than most expected! So maybe it was the best tactic afterall. As for the next record, it is a shame they didn't straight away make another one. But they're not breaking up! Ron has said there'll be a new Killers studio album sometime in 2016. Inbetween we'll have another brandon solo effort.
  16. Ok thanks! Any idea why that is? Seems pretty illogical to me, Radio 1 playlisted, promo of Jools Holland and Radio 1 gig next week. Why would they choose not to release?!
  17. Why did The Killers - Shot At The Night suddenly get delayed a week?! Where was that from?
  18. It looks like The Killers Greatest Hits-esque CD will be called "Direct Hits" and released Nov 11th. The listing is on Amazon UK and All Access 'future releases' in the US, I can't post links here. The lead single from it is called "Shot At The Night" and will premier tomorrow night (the 16th) on Zane Lowe's R1 show, but no release date confirmed. It's produced by Anthony Gonzalez of M83 and is "sonically somewhere between 'Smile Like You Mean It' and 'Miss Atomic Bomb'" according to NME.
  19. Where is The Killers - Battle Born nowadays? 310k? Also out of interest do you know where it is on the 100-200 album chart? Also whilst I'm here... Muse - 2nd Law Greenday - Uno/Dos/Tre Thanks!
  20. Thanks! done some research now, looks legit.
  21. Can anybody shed any light? Interesting to know where this comes from!
  22. Coming Soon The Killers - Greatest Hits Where has this rumour come from? Heard nothing from the band nor label about this being a possibility in the near future, despite them talking about what's next.
  23. HMV have an instore promotion at the moment featuring all of Sony BMG's 'The Essential' series. Never realised how many there were!
  24. Does anybody have information on sales in the itunes album rather than singles chart? Haven't seen much of that around, would be interesting.
  25. Thanks! Was interested in if it's been sent to radio or if not when, but I guess we will find out.
