Tame Impala 'Lonerism' ıı Late 2012
Great record, Feels Like We Only Go Backwards was a good choice of single.

The Vaccines Come of Age
Well with this promise of coming of age, what a load of tripe. Their first was full of catchy tunes. This is full of annoyingly catchy bollocks. Also, has the lead decided to not sing anymore?

Indie, Rock + Alt. recommendation thread
I thought it'd be a good idea to have a thread where people can put links/videos of the music they've just discovered, rather than people starting new threads all the time. I'll start it off with - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqU-ccMN0VE - really enjoying this at the moment.

Mercury Prize 2012
Mercury list is supposed to be for bands that have broken musical boundaries. Sometimes bands break both musical and SALES boundaries and can't be ignored (Arctic Monkeys, Klaxons etc in the past). Popular albums like Florence etc are just standard in terms of music, shouldn't be on the list.

Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires of The City
Agreed.

Foals "Holy Fire"
Can't wait for this, Foals are class.

Saint Saviour - Union (25 June 2012)
They're really good, need to get my hands on the album.

Saint Saviour - Union (25 June 2012)
Thought I'd dig this up as I started a thread but nobody seems to have got involved. Really impressed with what I've heard ( http://thefourohfive.com/news/article/watc...sement-sessions ) and going to catch them live very soon. :)

Groove Armada
I've added a link to the initial post now in case people can't be bothered to search!

Homeland
Trying hard not to read threads on it, as I'm trying to not watch any episodes then watch them all at once at the end (as I did with Series 1). It's so hard to hold out though.

Fresh Meat
I've been casually watching whenever I see it's on, I like it more than I thought I would.

Jake Bugg - Jake Bugg
Not sure what that means but it's nothing like Humbug. Humbug was a clear change of style and direction, and this is a debut album full of acoustic country rock songs. Anyway, the album is good in my opinion. Lots of filler on there (14 tracks is way too long for a debut for me, unless you've REALLY got the goods), but there are some real standout tracks.

Foals "Holy Fire"
Good news that they're back. TLF didn't hit me at first but I think it's just one of those albums. The more you go back to it over time, the better it gets.

iamamiwhoami ::
Got this after reading about it on here a week or so ago. So good. Good work guys!

Buzzjack's Alternative Album of the Century - Top 50
Surprised Arcade Fire we THAT high with Funeral, but it is their best album at least. Good to see Kanye high on the list, too.
-
Kanye West - G.O.O.D Music
Thought I'd bump this back up too as I've just listened to it again for the first time in a week or so. Really think it's brilliant in parts, only a couple of weaker tracks. Kanye's last solo effort (MBDTF) was outrageously good though, so can't wait for his next.

New Scissor Sisters album - Magic Hour
The word 'Hiatus' still means they'll come back in a few years when they're bored/want more money. Don't worry!
-
2014 World Cup Qualifying
Rubs off on the fans too though. How many of us care about international games unless it's a major tournament. They're so boring. Club over country every time for fans, so maybe it should be for players too.

Champions League & Europa League 2012/2013
How good was it last night? Arsenal & City both losing, and Dortmund (as I expected, top side) beat Madrid at home.

Premier League / Football League Thread 12/13
Seeing as it's a Championship club, Mick McCarthy is always favourite for every job going! Speaking of Mick, I'm a Wolves fan, any others on here?
-
Groove Armada
Well, it's not specifically a topic about them, but more about where they've gone since. I didn't really know where to ask so thought I'd try you guys. I've been asked to go to a Saint Saviour gig next week, and all I've been told is that the lead (Becky Jones) used to be in Groove Armada. Having watching a couple of videos, I think I really like Saint Saviour, something I couldn't say about Groove Armada to be honest. Any thoughts? Muse 'The 2nd Law' / September 2012
Not sure I'm a fan of Muse. Still need to see them live, I'm told that will change my views on them!

Bloc Party.
I've been fortunate to see Bloc Party (I've just sat here counting) 7 times over the past 4 or 5 years. They used to be one of my favourite bands but I'm really not a fan of their latest release 'Four'. Their debut album and select tracks from their 2nd and 3rd will stick with me forever though.

Mercury Prize 2012
I'd recommend giving Richard Hawley a whirl.

2014 World Cup Qualifying
We should really, really slaughter these.
