MAYHEM—Lady Gaga—Mellope Album Review OVERVIEW: This is one of the best albums I have ever heard in my life; every song lived up to a quality and posed no huge weaknesses. I was questioning the album when I heard a huge dance radio hit and then "Die With A Smile" being on the same album, but then it all pieces together like a puzzle; it all clicks. She doesn't just do it like her usual though, oh no, she combines sounds from different decade and even has rock tracks which are cleverly crafted with Gaga's vocals just being a POWERHOUSE, along with meaning and a clear purpose that you can hear with every song. I highly recommend this, and in my track-by-track review, there is so much more I would love to cover. TRACK BY TRACK REVIEW: 1. Disease (6/10) Ok, so I wasn't a fan of this, and I agree it certainly wasn't Gaga's finest, but now it's gotten stuck in my head a bit, and I have to admit that it's not that bad, although a lot of bad songs get stuck in my head (I don't know why). So I had to stay true to my heart and give this a 6/10 because it's solid, but I want to rate down to talent as well, and this just feels like something for the radio instead of showing Gaga's full capability. 2. Abracadabra (8/10) Seeing Gaga's upcoming album has songs called 'Garden Of Eden' and 'The Beast,' and seeing the song references the devil in a more darker setting, I wouldn't be surprised if she was going to pull another 'Judas' moment. But you know I'm not biased and only rate off the actual song, so it's actually very catchy and grew a lot from the first listen. It's a pump of electronic energy that reminds me of Gaga's older era of dance music and brings back her style in a jam-packed party bop that concerns finding the magic through the challenges. It's a pleasing song and sets a high standard for the rest of 'MAYHEM.' 3. Garden of Eden (7.8/10) Now that the Gaga album is out, we are left with the promoted single 'Garden Of Eden,' which is a good choice to put at the start of the album. It's fun, it makes you want to dance, and just like 'Abracadabra,' it's a rollercoaster of a party, which I truly believe has the power to get picked up by radio or even take Gaga to number one, and we need a hit single with staying power because right now 2025 has just been songs recycled from 2024. I'll be looking forward to hearing the full album 'Mayhem,' and this song is making me look forward to it even more! 4. Perfect Celebrity (9/10) This is the first song from the album I've heard when actually sitting down to hear the whole thing, and WOWZERS!! GAGA IS GOING ALL KILLER NO FILLER WITH THIS!! We got a rock-pop powerhouse that sounds like Disease but even better; her vocals have that extraordinary passion for the MAYHEM era, which I love to see. Gaga isn't playing any games with this one! Easily the best thing I've heard from her! 5. Vanish Into You (9/10) DON'T YOU DARE BASH THIS!! THIS IS PEAK!! THIS IS FROM THE ICON. FROM THE MOMENT. OOOONA NA NAAAAA. OK, I'm going to calm down now and act serious because I'm getting a little too excited. Gaga delivers a pop song that's easy to understand but still hits hard with its radio-friendly hook and signature style. This feels like a great song to sum up Gaga, the powerful vocal holds, and the constant beat pulse that keeps you amazed throughout the whole song. You have to hear this! 6. Killah (Feat. Gesaffelstein) (7.9/10) Can't knock this either because it's a well-made song. It brings a retro feeling that sounds like it would fit a 70s bar scene, with the backing screams and rock; it really sounds like Gaga switched things up while keeping her all-loved pop style. I wasn't expecting her to deliver something like this, but if you like those old guitar plucks and are one for the 70s-sounding rock, then this is for you! 7. Zombieboy (8.2/10) This is real dance music; it sounds like something off of Tension II but instead with more glamour. Just like the previous songs, this sounds like it has serious potential to be a lead single with its coating of old-style production but still sounding like it can be a hit today; it sounds fit for any era in the charts. Dance or die! 8. LoveDr*g (6/10) This was a step down. As much as this had quality, it felt like a huge letdown for the next song and really dropped the phrase "dance or die." In fact, I feel like this could be a lead-up to a slower pace, seeing that the last song on the album is "Die With A Smile." 9. How Bad Do U Want Me (7/10) Ok, so we're leaning into a sound that fits Taylor Swift, with the lyrics and vocals matching her. I wouldn't be surprised if this was inspired by her. And as I predicted, we are losing "dance or die" a lot more because this more feels like a song to sit and relate to rather than going all out dancing; it builds more of a sound that's like a strong, lead Taylor Swift song. 10. Don't Call Tonight (7.2/10) It has a very bold, strong, and upfront sound that holds power in Gaga's vocals; if she keeps this pace up, then this album is set for a very high score! We are bringing back more of the dance with this one! 11. Shadow Of A Man (8.3/10) It's like the 2000s pop songs with effects and those groovy beat pads that make you want to dance; this is yet another hit and great move from Lady Gaga. 12. The Beast (7.6/10) Ok, OKKKK!! We are working with this; I can feel the buildup from the dance tunes to the slightly slower buildup to the final track, and she's still bossing these track transitions! You can hear the force and power in her vocals, which build up to the beat going up and down with force; it's what MAYHEM is about, and I'm here for it 13. Blade of Grass (9/10) This is a really touching and beautiful love song about how Gaga was proposed to with a blade of grass. It feels very much like Die With a Smile but without the high kicks for radio and instead focuses more on the element of the beauty and lyrics. It has very clear meaning and intent and feels ear-catching. 14. Die With A Smile (Ft. Bruno Mars) (8/10) This originally wasn't going to make the album, but it did, and I do think it deserved a place on this. It'll definitely help bring up the critics review and score of this and give it more long-term life in the charts. Smart move from Gaga. For the track, it's a beautiful song that can be played at weddings, funerals, or anywhere; it's truly something that can be interpreted in a million ways, which is what a special song does. Love this, and a pleasure to hear it! Great album outro! BEST—Perfect Celebrity WORST—LoveDr*g Overall score: 8.5/10

NEW MUSIC FRIDAY SUMMARY AND REVIEW 7.03.25 #22 Garden Of Eden—Lady Gaga (7.8/10) Now that the Gaga album is out, we are left with the promoted single 'Garden Of Eden,' which is a good choice to put at the start of the album. Handlebars—JENNIE/Dua Lipa (5.5/10) This song doesn't bring out complete utter nonsense, but it sure is boring. I've now heard multiple songs that are main singles from JENNIE'S new album, and they all don't really deserve any hype. In fact, this song is the best one yet; without Dua's verse, the score would drop, though. The interesting noises in production were also one of the only reasons why I spared it with this score. After these performances from her and the lack of interest that sounds like it's going to be in the album, the only thing pulling me in is the wide range of features on the project, disappointing. Beautiful People—David Guetta/Sia (6.2/10) This isn't the first time we've seen Guetta and Sia on a song together; last time we did, it went UK No. 1 and was a memorable smash radio hit that's still played on radio today. Now, will Beautiful People live up to that? No, I'm confident it won't, just like most musical duos after releasing a smash hit together; their next songs don't live up to the original hit, just like with Calvin & Ellie's 'Free' or Kendrick and SZA's '30 For 30,' etc. Guetta gave a less action-packed production, and it felt like the song didn't have much of a memorable hook, unsurprising because Guetta just sucks nowadays. The song still spares along the lines of fun and gives something that sounds like a summer song. I won't bash it because it's not terrible; it is repetitive, though, because now I see what people mean when talking about Sia's lyrics; they are the same as before and don't present much to the song, unfortunately. Anxiety—Doechii (8/10) And now the famous segment we all know and love is in a song, and Doechii nailed this too! The rest of the song kept the same level of sound, which I really enjoyed, and her vocals were soft and smooth, which was relaxing despite what she was rapping about. In the end, Anxiety sounds like it could be going places; social media should really pick this up! Swing For The Fences—Elton John/Brandi Carlile (8.2/10) LOVE to see Elton back, and just like the first single from these two, the second one is a smash hit! We could be having album of the year from these too! My only complaint is that Elton was a little hard to hear and got less time, and that's sad because I would've loved to see him get more of a part. Aside from that, this had a lovely, fun, and light piano melody along with an absolutely delightful production that sounds like the previous single along with sounds that feel very in tune with giving you a memorable listen. Elton has still got the power!! The rock along with the easy, stylish listen makes it sound like something that could be heard in a movie scene with a funfair; love this so much! Future Tripping—Kelsea Ballerini (6.9/10) Well, it just scraped the mark of acceptable to replay; it's not as good and as thought out as some of the singles from Kelsea's previous works, but it's definitely an alright step in the next journey of her career; it's just not an exciting step. Sweet Dreams—J. Hope/Miguel (7/10) I thought this was going to be interesting, and I was right; it's giving something that would've fit on Mac Miller's 'Balloonerism' as a good track. Miguel is very much capable of making something memorable, but when I saw J. Hope, I was questioning how this would sound. It turns out Miguel ruled most of the production elements, which I thought was a very good choice, and J. Hope did a great vocal job. A pleasant surprise! Can You Please—GELO/Glorilla (5/10) Flipping heck. GELO won't his breakout song Tweaker die will he? The start of this song is an obvious near-exact copy of that song, and the whole song ends up feeling like a tweaker remix with even lyrics of tweaker copied, not to mention the continuously rap crap lyrics where there are hawk tuah references from Glorilla, as the whole song is just about sex and the usual gangster activities, as the lyric video features money pouring down the screen. So, why did I spare this a five? The beat may not have been impressive, but it's definitely punchy and hits hard; it does what it's trying to do and well. What I don't get is why every rapper just talks about the same damn thing; it's so dull. I'll be gone—SASAMI (7/10) Just a really easy pop song that sounds easy to navigate, not special but not bad either, quite a calm listen. Options—Cameron Whitcomb (6/10) Sounds like something that Noah Kahan would do a great cover for, and it would even be good to push this to the American country radios as well. It's emotional, has those classic guitars often seen in the genre, and has a voice that sounds devoted to the song. As much as this isn't great, it sure will be for many people. Enjoy Your Life—Tokimonsta/Oby Onyioha (6.3/10) It's just a fun song with character flowing through the whole thing; it's not so common either; I respect this. ILY - Kapo/Myke Towers (7.9/10) Tell me why I'm not trashing this. I was expecting this to be a bland disaster after knowing more of the previous works by these artists, and it wasn't a disaster at all. The song made me feel like I'm on a beach in a foreign country and just enjoying my surroundings. Another way to say that would be that this song is relaxing in the way it sounds. I don't get the lyrics, so hopefully that doesn't stray far from what I've said, but I am just going off sound. Do you think you could love me? - Yung Kai (3.9/10) I don't know if I could love you, but I definitely cannot love this song. The mood just feels so depressing, and that's not to do with how it's supposed to be; I'm saying that in a critical way. Kai's voice is so languorous. Classy Girl—Turbo/Gunna (4/10) Yeah, yeah, it's also all the good-looking girls and how they want to take them all over the world; the beat is so dead and reflects no improvement for Gunna; it equals lazy. Pop n Olive—Samara Cyn/Sherwyn (5/10) Didn't really understand this. I need a doctor—Youngboy Never Broke Again (0.2/10). Grow up and get help. No way you can still be pumping out this poop stain of a song; you sound utterly LAUGHABLE. The vocal performance was so garbage that I'm seriously angry at this. He literally screeched "ANOO GARTAAAREAGHVCGHB," whatever the hell that means, and there's still YouTube bots commenting "real ones stayed up for this." I would have stayed up to stop this from coming out; the production choices were such a joke that I'm in shock this is a serious artist. I'm not even going to make a serious analysis on this because it's a waste of my time. Run It Up—Hanumankind (7/10) Really energetic and straight to the point, but this time not heading for virality it sounds more real to what they want to put out rather than trying to make their way up the charts. Santiago - Richy Mitch And The Coal Miners (6.7/10) I'm pretty much pleased with this; my favourite part was the extra boost at the end, which gives it a needed final push to uplift the song's quality. The vocals also were fittingly aside the beat; it totally works. Happy Birthday—Black Country, New Road (4/10) I can't hear anything that the singer is saying. The making of the song has some really questionable choices. Due to how dull they are. Black Country, New Road need to sort this out because just like their last song, this is nothing special. This is not special, and people overrate this just like K-pop stans, but instead it's not K-pop. Anyways, that was just some quick fire opinions to give. Call me if you miss me—Max McNown (4.9/10). Weak all over, some of the flow feels like a Taylor Swift filler when she's just rambling on about something even if it doesn't match anything about the song. Max's vocals felt like they weren't hitting the notes the song needed and instead were just going along for the ride as if he's shy. Amigos? No. - Oscar Maydon/Neton Vega (5/10) As you can expect, it's their usual, which if you've been following my reviews, you will very much know that I dislike their usual due to it being the same things heard everywhere else. I can be asked to explain the same thing again; I'll care when they make something new. Edge of the world—MEDUZA/Innellea/GENESI/Nu-La (6.9/10) It has some really loud and clear beats on this to keep you energised; it's a fun dance/electronic track that's sure to keep you going, but to me, it's nothing beyond the realms of fun. BAD DECISIONS—Nemzzz (5/10) It's the exact same rap/drill that we've seen from him and from others for possibly a decade on end; it's repetitive, it's supposed to be hitting, but now it feels tiring, and Nemzzz has lost the spark. Satanised—Ghost (5/10) Is this satanic or nah? Google won't make it clear. I don't want to promote Satanism, so I can't say this was good, but I don't want to be biased either, so I'll just say the beat was good. Sex, Drugs & Existential Dread—Chloe Qisha (7.4/10) Very different from her usual, it feels like something that a lot of music critics would like due to its more alternative sound that submerges you straight into the mix. Chloe Qisha has been one I've been keeping an eye out for a while; she legit sounds like she could be the next breakthrough. There just needs to be a lot more backing behind these singles, and voila, then we've got something going. Oh, and one piece of criticism: please take out the line "the world is on fire, let's go get Taco Bell." That one line makes me have a lot more dislike for the song and did affect the score, especially when the viewers thought they were working with a hot, getting-in-the-mood atmosphere. Rich Junkies—Bay Swag/Kyle Ricch (5.2/10) Sounds like a partly experienced rapper off of BandLab. That's not a huge insult, unlike the other things I've said to these rappers. Take it or leave it. Nightlight—Livingstone (7/10) Very well put together song; it's what you would expect from Livingstone, but I still pretty much like it. It's a "let's make an average but good song" move rather than trying to level up his skill set. After all this, though, I don't really care for the whole album. It's a sweet indie song about waiting for someone; it sounds like something Alex Warren would make in case you're interested. If You Hadn't Been There—Dolly Parton (7.5/10) Dolly is still rocking it at her age! It has that beautifully natural sound where it's clean and avoids using any non-natural extras that kill the clean feel. I love how she's keeping it real; hopefully, there's more! Smoker—Jack Van Cleaf (9.3/10) What an absolutely heartbreaking and truthful song that captures the feelings and stories around how he's smoking, from how he never thought he would to openly admitting that it became a habit. The pitch change in the vocals, particularly on the 'Smoker' part, was something that really added to the track and gave it a more raw and honest aspect. We should never let people promote smoking, but sadly many do, and now today we have people hooked up to oxygen masks fighting for their lungs. Don't smoke, and if you do, try to stop. This song really highlights everything on point and the guitar with the beat that makes you constantly think in a trance; it's truly a song we need in this world. Back To Life—Wilkinson/Julia Church (6.2/10) Reminds me of Sonny Fedora and Clementine's song a few weeks back, very simple and just lacks anything to propel its popularity forward; it just equals some DJ with an ascending beat and female vocals. We could've gotten better, but it's still alright. WORTH SOMETHING—Icewear Vezzo/Big Sean/Skilla Baby (6.4/10) Uninspired? Yes. Was the beat still kind of tough despite being part of rap crap lyrics? Yes. For that, it gets a 6.4 for channelling my inner gangster. GFY - Julia Michaels (4/10) Reminds me of Caity Baser or Mae Stephen's common and cringe song style, in the lyrics and in the production; Meghan Trainor probably would have gotten on this song without any question. It's the classic heartbreak framed in a more clever word style that doesn't sound clever at all; in fact, this just sounds stupid. Girl I Never Met—Corey Kent (6.8/10) I approve of a country song, finally, a random country song that keeps the country base while actually having style rather than sadly slugging along. The rock guitars fit well with Corey, and the production value is quite good for this. Perdido—Gabito Ballesteros (3/10) Yeah, I can't psychically get through all of this; from most of my listening, I can tell it's Mexican/Spanish crap (basically the same thing the artists here always pump out—when I say _____ crap, that's what I mean, and in this case it's the same trumpets and style of production that you can't tell apart from any other song of the genre). Heaven On My Mind—Tobymac (7/10) Finally, some good Christian music! We need to take out the common stereotypes that tend to come with Christian music, and this song does exactly that with an uplifting pop sound and easy-to-listen vocals. If only it would trend. Abyss - Chloe Moriondo (6.9/10) Really basic pop sounds like something that modern-day Rebecca Black could get on, and I don't mean that in an insulting way; basic doesn't always mean bad. I got questions—Ken the man/Kaliii (4.9/10). Rap crap, moving on. Gone Girl—Neriah (5/10) Sadly, this is like her previous song 'Don't Let Go,' which I tried to get into but feels as plain as your mouth when you wake up at 3am. Why can't Neriah stray out of making songs that sound like pop fillers that are only slightly liked for the sake of having an upbeat hook that sounds like 'Cruel Summer'? Gone Fishing—Mackenzie Carpenter (8.2/10) US country rock with a true powerful edge to it, Mackenzie's vocals have a powerful force. She's my new favourite Carpenter, much better than Sabrina Carpenter at least. Sometimes—Tiago PZK/Teddy Swims (5.5/10) Ok, so Teddy Swims needs to stop rapping because he's not good at it; instead, stick to the things like in 'I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part One)' because this is a big downfall. Tiago gave a fairly okay opening; he did better than Teddy at least, just not by much. Teddy wants to step outside of playing it safe, but it's not working; the best I can do is applaud the effort. Another Day—Adrien Nunez (5.6/10) If Myles Smith was white, this is what his music would sound like. Flat and tasteless but somehow still manages to mean something in all its boringness. Only God Knows—Struggle Jennings/Jelly Roll (4.5/10) Do something different. Jelly Roll! Come on! This is the exact same rock he's been putting out for years with a message we've all heard, so repetitive, the same thing with the background, does nothing. Can we talk about Isaac? - Rachel Chinouri (5.1/10) Ok, I'm going to be honest, I've heard little from Rachel, but I don't get her huge appeal. The only thing I quite liked from her was when she did 'Even' with Cat Burns, but apart from that, it just sounds like there's nothing really to these songs; they're like unseasoned food, not really appealing. Rachel, try and jazz things up a bit, please. Straight Rhymez—Aitch (6/10) There's one problem here that makes me have a sour taste towards the whole song. Is it the beat? No, the beat is excellent and adds a funky side along with a clear character beat that sounds anything but boring. Is it the vocals? No, Aitch has great flow and can keep up easily and is great at doing that. Now, I'll tell you what it is: Aitch is chatting absolute rubbish as usual; you are NOT a top 5 rapper, and anyone who doesn't bring you up in a conversation about the top 5 rappers just has common sense! Don't let the pride get the best of you. Aitch, he then talks about how he never lies, despite what he says contradicting itself, as I explained when reviewing 'A Guy Called.' Aitch simply thinks he's the biggest and can brag about anything, and because he has a few great songs upon a mountain load of bad ones, he thinks he's entitled, and for that, the track gets me mad. There's a load of other lies there to which I'm not going to waste my time on. Without these bad lyrics, the song would be an 8.5 or so. KAROAKE - James Arthur (3.7/10) It appears James Arthur's run of making ok songs is over. The start sounded like it wasn't mixed to the best potential, the middle sounded like one of the most basic pop songs known to man, and the end sounded like I hired a Lewis Capaldi impersonator from Fiverr. Maria Magdalena—Sevdaliza/irmas de pau (2.5/10) Just unneeded filth that seems satanic, Sev's viral hit 'Alibi' was a lot better. Function—Big Zuu/Capo Lee/INFAMOUSIZAK (6/10) Biz Zuu carried; if the other artists lived up to his verse, then this would've been like an 8/10, but sadly, though, they didn't give their all at all, and it ended up just being entertaining because of Zuu. Take A Pic—Ashley Walters/Giggs (5/10) This was not as slick as they think it was; in fact, nothing here was worth listening to or talking about. What I do want to talk about is how Ashley Walters sounds like the name of a retired 95-year-old white grandma who spends her last days baking cookies; turns out it's a young, Black male who looks like they make gangsta music. Dude, get a name change right away. 😭🙏🏼 Lonely Love—Hybrid Minds/Ashley Singh (6.4/10) We can take this; it's not the worst. It just doesn't hit the point on whatever it's trying to give; the verses, background, and style all feel like they miss the mark and instead deliver average. PSILOCYBIN & DAISIES - Jessie Reyez (8/10) It reminds me of another song that I can't remember; the name is on the tip of my tongue. Anyways, this is too short. I would love a longer version because this song feels super refreshing, and there's some tone in the track's vocals and bass that just makes me fall in love with it. Cage El Paso - HUGEL/DERON/La Payara (3.8/10) Pretty forgettable, don't you think? Mandigo—Wu-Tang Clan (9/10) Ladies and gentlemen, this is how you do a rap song. It's gritty and has those backing vocals that bring the before 2000s sound, although it still sounds like it's fit for modern day. I believe this could be part of the movie due to the credits and character scenes inside the song; if so, this must be a great movie because this is awesome! Not only that, but it has a wild and full, out-loud and clear sound that is bound to turn any frown upside down, with the screams and cuts fit into the perfect place. Gethsemane—Car Seat Headrest (5/10) I can't make it through this; I just can't sit through 11 minutes straight of an old progressive/indie rock with guitar and vocals, and for me not being able to listen to it, I can't like it. If it was shorter, this would have gotten more points from me, though; instead, this is just time-consuming. Skullcrusher—Yeule (4/10) Eugh, what is this two-minute mash-up of ear-splitting sounds? What is even going on here? Ripped apart by hands—Weatherday (6/10) Sounds pretty deep; if the production was a bit clearer, that would've been nice. Sounds like something Gigi Perez might make. NASTYWERKKK! - I legit can't say the artist's name because it could get autocorrected and then my content could get banned. (5.9/10) , , It started pleasant, but then the vocals were drowned in the high volume and meant nothing. Sad. I'm only giving it 5.9/10 because of the good beat. Thousand Yard Stare—Kmoe (7/10) Production was the key element that made me give the score I did; the fade-out to the vocal blend captures a real essence in the song that I love to see. Destiny Arrives—SPELLING (6.9/10) Nice addition to the album, powerful vocals on a really well-made soul-rock song. I still don't feel the need to hear the full album, though. High Horse—NMIXX (4/10) I don't care what the mega stans say; it's still boring girl group K-pop. I don't care if there were a few vocal changes and it's not an identical copy of others in the genre; it's still incredibly boring because not much is done here. Head Hunting—Key Nyata/Pouya/Denzel Curry/Shakewell/KXLLSWXTCH (8/10) I like the detail and care that sounds like it was put into this. I rarely like southern hip hop, especially ones overpacked with artists, but this was a switcheroo from the usual. The hook feels sharp and intense to keep you hooked with a continuous loop that holds up really well. Magic Clock - F5ve (4/10) It's the same K-pop girl group that somehow probably has diehard stans despite them making music like any other K-pop band that has no flavour to it at all. UK B*tches - Ovine Hall/Kurtains (3.8/10) Maybe if it wasn't hard to understand piled-up slop, then the beat could actually be used. + Sargasso + - Vildhjarta (8/10) I have no way to understand their words, so I'm just basing my rating off the sound, and the piano parts along the heavy rock were pieced well. I think Linkin Park would put a great addition to this song. The Strip—The Orchestra (For Now) (6/10) This has a really unexpected drop in depth, which needs to make you change the volume (which isn't the best). The rest of the song is well put together; it goes all out for the guitars and screams and puts on a good image for the act. Sadly, there's blasphemy, which makes me like it less, and due to that, I can't get into this. Bad Influence Freestyle—LUCKI (5.2/10) I have mixed views on this; some lyrics appear sharp and well phrased, while others feel paused to think for the freestyle, along with this not doing much anyway. It definitely doesn't need to be 5 minutes. Stardoll—Ninush (8.2/10) Seeing that I'm lying down at 10:30pm, it's very nice to get a soothing and easy listen; most likely the most relaxing thing I've heard in a while. The orchestral instruments coming in made me smile so hard because the gentle vocals with it just want to make you drift away in sleep, honestly beautiful, and I'm thankful to witness this. Tongues—Thornhill (6.9/10) It's really giving the 90s nu metal sound really well; reminds me of Deftones. Love You Anymore - Mario Judah (3/10) No offence here, but I'm not a fan of Mario's accent; his voice doesn't feel like something I can get into. This song was also just less than two minutes of confusion for me because I didn't get the end goal of the song; either way, nothing here impressed me. Blue Demon—The Voidz (8/10) The song is really catchy and sounds like something that the radio could pick up; the problem for me is that the immense autotune doesn't help with the song like they think it might. I think it's better using a more natural vocal choice. I'm getting into these synth-funk songs a lot more now, though. Hell Raiser (Freestyle) - Lil Uzi Vert (3.8/10) Why should I be surprised? Lil Uzi is putting out more demonic music as usual, but that's not even the main issue because what the hell is this beat? It's just random noises and sounds put onto his freestyle as if he never had a real producer. I mean, who would want to produce this anyway? His freestyle wasn't the sharpest. Selekta - Kyle Gordon/Albie Wobble/Trixie B/SIDEQUEST (4.7/10) At most this track will get a play on a Radio One show that nobody chooses to listen to by choice. Some of these verses were so bad that they escaped the studio. Pumpkin—c418 (8.2/10) I'm so glad that I discovered this guy! Really peaceful song; it's gentle and something you could fall asleep to, but at the same time, it's addictive to replay. No wonder why they got this guy to make the Minecraft songs; he's a pro. Crystal Roses—Spiritbox (6.9/10) I wish I could hear what they are saying, but apart from that, everything else is a check. Pondeggi - E Wata/Yaeji (3.2/10) The track is so long that it feels tiring, and whoever the second person on the song is sounds AWFUL; they are not cut out for music; they show no music talent whatsoever and completely ruined the song due to them being all over it. Double See Freestyle—Lil Uzi Vert (4.8/10) It's not as bad as his last freestyle, but in parts, Lil Uzi does sound like the majority of gang rappers who flood their vocals with autotune, resulting in them sounding like an alien species. At least he can rhyme. Damn Right—JENNIE/Childish Gambino/Kali Uchis (7.1/10) This is the first really good thing I've heard from the JENNIE album. Childish Gambino had the best part here; his part was executed correctly, and it provided the clean change in the song. Thankfully, that was followed by another clean vocal change by JENNIE. I think working rap into the album went away from playing it safe, which I'm pleased to see JENNIE do. Like JENNIE - JENNIE (8/10) And this comes as the second single. I really liked this from this album! Wow, I really think this should've been a main single! It's got an incredible dance routine as well. It has that constant pattern and fast ups and downs that make it like an action movie and keeps you hooked; Jennie's vocals are on point and fit in well with the constant pulse of the song. Alex Warren is gaining and fast with 'Ordinary' up from 8 to 3. Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else - Benson Boone (5.5/10) Rare Benson Boone L. As Benson was one of my most streamed artists ever and 95% of the time creates something I enjoy, I was very much excited (to say the least) about this upcoming new era, and the opening single will set the tone for how I'm going to feel. To keep it short and real, Benson played it safe and did exactly what he's been doing before but even worse, and the lyrics feel like they took a downgrade. Now It's Gone—Parallel (4/10) This is the type of song that you'll find in a Spotify playlist with 23 saves titled "club mix: Ibiza 24hr DJ music #ibiza #fun," and when you see that, you know you are going to hear anything but fun; it's the same chopped-up DJ sounds that nobody really likes apart from the bin workers on a Friday, in other words, lazy and minimum effort. 89. Love Me Not—Ravyn Lenae (5/10) I feel much more could've been done with this, but it keeps the fun, the pace, and the flow all at the minimum. More needs to be done to this because right now it sounds like a pop song on an album that everybody forgets about, and the vocals really don't help shape a better song either; they're boring. 74. Open Arms—SZA/Travis Scott (4.4/10) The song starts with SZA's clear, angelic voice, one of the most beautiful things ever. She goes on to create a raw and real atmosphere that feels connected, "This is going to be an 8/10," I think to myself… until Travis Scott comes in and raps completely unrelated in his autotuned, fried vocals about how he's got opps and he's having sex… And to make matters worse, some weird-ass moment pops up at the last 30 seconds of the song that sounds kerfuffled and nothing like the song. How can you even fumble that bad? This makes me so angry how it got worse every second. 61. Twenties—Giveon (7.4/10) It sounds as if SZA was a male artist. I first heard of Giveon when he collaborated with Teddy Swims on 'Are You Even Real.' It turns out he has many views before this, though, with his most popular YouTube video amassing 437M views at the time of writing, and this sounds promising for anyone who came for the realness felt by him on the Teddy Swims collab; the heartbreak is expressed well and feels correctly approached. Keep up the good work! 56. Tell me—Sonny Fedora/Clementine Douglas (5.3/10) Previous listen: Bad? No, it's just extremely basic, like most things coming from Sonny and Clementine. 'Lose Control' sees Teddy hit 8 as The Weeknd's new album has 'Timeless' go up from 18 to 7. At 6, ROSÉ and Bruno's 'APT.' declines as Shaboozey is just above them at 5. 'Birds Of A Feather' is up to 4 for Billie Eilish, and 'Luther' also climbs to 3. Morgan Wallen's new entry, 'I'm The Problem,' just misses the top spot at 2, and Lady Gaga (with Bruno Mars) manages to repeat at 1 for their 5th week with 'Die With A Smile.' NEW ENTRY: 96. Love Hangover—JENNIE/Dominic Fike (3.5/10) This sounded like a tragic mess. I don't even know what to make of this. The synths heightened energy with claps that blend into a whirlwind of a flavourful production. This is more than experimental; this is genius. Take Me Back to LA (6.5/10) This gave late-night driving and felt like the pop elements flowed through more; I just wish the start was more consistent instead of the unsteady verses. 68. The Abyss Ft. Lana Del Rey (6.5/10) It felt like a completion to a long story, and Lana's vocals were elegant and holded fabulously! 🎀☺️ 65. Niagara Falls (5.5/10) It's nothing special from the rest I've seen. I don't know if it's just me, but this is kind of boring. It has effort, and I can see the clean production changes, but it just doesn't click for me. 60. Enjoy The Show (4/10) The lyrics to this were crazy; The Weeknd claimed he isn't going to make it past 34, which, if true, means he's going to die within the next twelve days. He also speaks about overdosing and more. To the vocals, Future was a terrible choice; he sounded like Rod Wave on 'Last Lap,' and the whole song just felt sluggish and slow. I wanted it to end; it doesn't capture any moment apart from the sad thought of depression. 53. Reflections Laughing Ft. Florence + the Machine and Travis Scott (3/10) These three do not go well together or have any chemistry; there was nothing to take from this, and every artist here is not giving their full. Open Hearts (8/10) This went down perfectly with the music video; it felt like an easy pop record to get a smash Billboard hit, but I respect The Weeknd's choice to take bolder moves with experimental music to give a new atmosphere. But still, the whole song felt flawless in its production and gave a booming opening to what I hope is an amazing album! 29. But you know I'm not biased and only rate off the actual song, so it's actually very catchy and grew a lot from the first listen. It's a pump of electronic energy that reminds me of Gaga's older era of dance music and brings back her style in a jam-packed party bop that concerns finding the magic through the challenges. This joined Langley's 2024 album and took months to finally gain traction, but here it is. Using classic country instrumentals, it delivers a natural and down-to-earth song. The problem to me is that this does nothing to steer itself away from being another bland country song, and that's something that Ella can't steer away from at all, really. 79. Backseat Driver—Kane Brown (6/10) Kane’s voice sounds completely manufactured in these country songs. You can tell because he didn’t sound like this on Miles on It, right? Exactly. I get adjusting your tone to fit a song’s style, but this feels like an act. The song itself is solid and doesn’t rely too much on country clichés, which is a relief, but it really doesn’t deserve to blow up. 73. Blue Jean Baby—Zach Bryan (7.5/10) The first thing from Zach that I can actually say is really good; everything felt so natural, and for once Zach doesn't bore us with a song as bland as a marshmallow, true American country here, and I'm ready to let those guitar and drums with the bar-like sound go crazy! 58. Haunted—Kane Brown/Jelly Roll (7/10) It's a rare sighting for me to rate these two artists this high, but this is an exception. The vocals were a powerhouse, and so were the lyrical values, covering depression and suicide. Amazing song from the two, and I hope to see more like this! 21. Sports Car—Tate McRae (9/10) Tate McRae was mad not to make this the main single!! OH MY WORD, I AM IN SHOCK!! THIS IS EXCELLENT! The mysterious yet intense quality of the song was just layered perfectly, and Tate's vocal performance was out of this world! We haven't seen anything like this from McRae, and 'Sports Car' is a huge win! 17. Fat Juicy & Wet—Sexy Red/Bruno Mars (4/10) This is the weirdest collab I've ever seen in my life, and I'm left speechless by it. I did not expect to see Bruno talking about how he likes his women. Fat, juicy, and wet—what even is this?! I'm convinced that this has ruined Bruno's song collection; this really sounds like rap crap, though, and anyone who says it's good is most likely glazing it for having Bruno on it. I'll be shocked if this has long-term charting potential. And also EWWWWW, THE LYRICS ARE GROSS!! I can't believe Bruno reached out to do this 😭. If this really is on his next album, then it'll ruin it; it's like they tried to recreate 'WAP' with the harder trap kick in there to fire up the song and the claps between the vocals. I can also hear a hint of old-school production with short segments having a 2000s-like melody playing. 1. 4×4—Travis Scott (4/10) Previous listen: Below standard, just like every other Travis song I've heard. Hurry Up Tomorrow—The Weeknd—Mellow Album Review OVERVIEW: As you can most likely tell when you read on, the more I listened, the more dragged on and bored I felt. That may be because of my brain, or it may not, but that's how it felt. It's one of those albums where one song is great and the next is mid, and there are a few terrible ones. This truly was a roller coaster of ups and downs; overall, it was an interesting listen. You can tell he went for less of a mainstream pop feel and tried to make a genuine record for himself. I highly respect that! And thankfully this was better than the main singles released, so even if you didn't like 'Timeless' or 'Sao Paolo,' there could easily be something here for you! I would've liked more organisation and, in some parts, more entertaining production, but I'll still rate this as a decent album! So cheers to the end of The Weeknd's trilogy and welcome Abel Tesfaye! ✌️ TRACK BY TRACK REVIEW: 1. Wake Me Up Ft. Justice (9/10) Amazing album intro; it captured The Weeknd's character really well and marked a legendary start to 'Hurry Up Tomorrow.' The merge into a 'Thriller'-like beat is super clean and smooth but felt similar to the original 'Thriller,' and if it was sampled, then samples are kind of lazy, which stops it from deserving a 10. But still, the whole song felt flawless in its production and gave a booming opening to what I hope is an amazing album! 2. Cry For Me (7/10) [uPGRADED SCORE +1] Previous listen: Every single release pushed on "Hurry Up Tomorrow" feels so different from the last that I have no idea how The Weeknd's going to pull this album off. In the short term, this was an enjoyable song; it felt dark and gave a pop-R&B entrance, which was appealing and felt intriguing to the upcoming songs, although this wasn't the best thing I've heard and felt it could've done with a catchier hook. It definitely wasn't a disappointment for my expectations. Added: Listening to this with track one really built a moment much more and made me like this track more. 3. I can't f****** sing (4/10) This is a short snippet of the time Abel lost his voice at a concert as he says that he can't sing. I don't get why you would want to include this in the album. 4. Sao Paulo Ft. Anitta (2/10) First of all, I have a strong dislike for whoever made this music video. It started with a woman (Anitta, I presume) walking down the street with a mask on her, which had a connected curly tube to it (I'm describing music, ok? Not props) and then she pukes up on the street (I have a fear of puke and even seeing it, so no trigger jumpscares me), and then a baby bump appeared on the woman, and she fell/went into a fountain where she showcased the baby bump, and then the baby bump grew a mouth, and The Weeknd started speaking out of it. In the next scene, the woman was then licking a car whilst twerking, and the camera zoomed into the mouth multiple times (for some reason it had crust all around its mouth), and then the video ended with the most horrible transition into a baby bump and the mouth. This song was supposed to be scary for Halloween and even teased as a horror music video multiple times, but it was scary as a Tesco manager. The sad thing is The Weeknd sounds like he actually tried to make this scary. This marks the first collaboration between the two artists on a Brazilian funk song, which hopefully doesn't make the album cut as it doesn't fit the first two singles style. In fact, nothing is slotting here, and the lyrics are all about "doing it" rather than giving a spooky mood. 5. Until We're Skin And Bones (9/10) Amazing 23-second segment; it sounds as majestic as the 21st Century Fox intro; it sounds like the start of an intergalactic space movie and puts you in such a mood! 6. Baptised In Fear (6.5/10) The synthesiser did a great job! The beat was simple but a good follow-up; shame it didn't live up to a bigger extent; it felt like it needed more to it. 7. Open Hearts (8/10) This went down perfectly with the music video; it felt like an easy pop record to get a smash Billboard hit, but I respect The Weeknd's choice to take bolder moves with experimental music to give a new atmosphere. This was a great track and gave a nostalgic feel despite there being nothing nostalgic in the track. 8. Opening Night (3/10) So many random noises that feel misplaced and just there for no reason; what even is this? 9. Reflections Laughing Ft. Florence + the Machine and Travis Scott (3/10) These three do not go well together or have any chemistry; there was nothing to take from this, and every artist here is not giving their full. I don't even get why having Scott's autotuned plop of a verse was put on this. 10. Enjoy The Show (4/10) The lyrics to this were crazy; The Weeknd claimed he isn't going to make it past 34, which, if true, means he's going to die within the next twelve days. He also speaks about overdosing and more. To the vocals, Future was a terrible choice; he sounded like Rod Wave on 'Last Lap,' and the whole song just felt sluggish and slow. I wanted it to end; it doesn't capture any moment apart from the sad thought of depression. 11. Given Up On Me (7.3/10) Now this is better! The synths heightened energy with claps that blend into a whirlwind of a flavourful production. This is more than experimental; this is genius. It also caught the emotional aspects of the music well too! 12. I can't wait to get there (6/10). It starts off nice, simple, and slow before moving into more juicier R&B chords. It's alright and a decent song that fits well; it just feels like The Weeknd could've given more energy to the song. 13. Timeless Ft. Playboi Carti (3/10) This feels so weak for a main single; the production doesn't carry, and the song fails miserably. If I had to compliment this, then I guess the two artists match each other, but still, it's not solid and most definitely overhyped. 14. Niagara Falls (5.5/10) It's nothing special from the rest I've seen. I don't know if it's just me, but this is kind of boring. It has effort, and I can see the clean production changes, but it just doesn't click for me. 15. Take Me Back to LA (6.5/10) This gave late-night driving and felt like the pop elements flowed through more; I just wish the start was more consistent instead of the unsteady verses. 16. Big Sleep Ft. Giorgio Moroder (8/10) Not only was every choice chosen on this song interesting and gave a whole new sound, but it's also really catchy from the first listen, the electronics mixed with the oomph given by the song; I love it! 17. Give Me Mercy (7.5/10) I like how some of the layers felt like a song that was supposed to be traditional, like someone making a very natural instrumental style; this sounds like a good backbeat for Christian praise music. 18. Drive (7.3/10) So calm, the beat was a nice landing for the Weeknd, and it just has a special place in my heart. 19. The Abyss Ft. Lana del rey (6.5/10) It felt like a completion to a long story, and Lana's vocals were elegant and holded fabulously! 🎀☺️ 20. Red Terror (4.5/10) Pretty creepy music video 😳. It doesn't get me in the trance state it wants me to, and by now the album is feeling tiring and too long. Not impressed. 21. Without A Warning (5.5/10) The dark, mysterious feel was my favourite part; still not really bussin though; you need to hit the spot better, Mr. Tesfaye. 22. Hurry Up Tomorrow (7/10) So down-to-earth and refreshing… I adore this beautiful ending; it's light and touching. BEST—Wake Me Up Ft. Justice WORST—Sao Paolo Ft. Anitta Score: 6.3/10

UK TOP 100 SUMMARY & REVIEW 31.01.25 #18 THE TOP TEN: 'The Door' slips to 10 as 'Bad Dreams' jumps up to nine. Tate McRae has a big debut at 8 with 'Sports Car' as 'GBP' rests above it with a sales climb. Central and Dave bagged the highest new entry with 'CRG' at 6; 'Sailor Song' is stuck at 5 and falling on sales, while 'The Days' by Chrystal is still climbing on sales at 4. 'That's So True' continues its high sales drop at 3, giving 'APT.' A second week above it at 2, but taking the number one as it has a 6,000+ sales jump and locking in for its second week there is 'Messy' by Lola Young. NEW ENTrieS: 94. Wild Long Lie—Sam Fender (5/10) This continues well for people who liked the first. single 'People Watching,' but for me this isn't memorable; with its alternative rock and guitars, this still sounds like something that fails to go above, but at least it has the essence of Sam. 92. Say My Name—Morgan Seatree (7/10) This was such an amazing remix of the Florence and the Machine song; it's not the most unique thing, but it's still an EDM song that screams good vibes. A Guy Called—Aitch (NOT RATED/10) If Aitch was telling the truth, then this would be a decent diss track on Central Cee, but I really hate lies, and the fact that he's bringing unnecessary things like saying his ex looks like his cousin into a diss is really childish. For those who don't know, in Central Cee's song 'GBP,' he made one line complaining about how Aitch got the Brit and not himself. Aitch then fired back with a whole diss track calling him racist despite Central collaborating with multiple artists from different races, and then Central gets called a liar who has "made himself off capping and lying" despite Aitch making this really poor track that showcases his career is failing. Give it a rest, bruv. For that I am not rating this song; I refuse to rate anyone who gives others serious allegations that could ruin their lives more than a zero. 23. 4 × 4 - Travis Scott (4/10) Previous listen: Below standard, just like every other Travis song I've heard. Arm's Length—Sam Fender (8/10) A great song from a set to be a great upcoming album! This sounds like so much care went into the indie song, and it showcases a much more laid-back side compared to 'People Watching.' 13. Truth In The Lies—Central Cee/Lil Durk (4/10) Rap Cr*p, Central and Durk talk about the classic Rap Cr*p activities with a music video that has Kai Cenat in it. Kai Cenat also has a mention in another place of Cench's album. For those who don't know, Kai is a brainrot streamer... how childish can this get? They also can't change up their flow; it's painful to watch the same thing be spat out again for another song. This isn't Central. Cee, it's Central Pee; come back when you have some new content. 8. Sports Car—Tate McRae (9/10) Tate McRae was mad not to make this the main single!! OH MY WORD, I AM IN SHOCK!! THIS IS EXCELLENT! This rap feels like Central and Dave's 2023 collaborations but somehow even more boring; there's no chemistry between these two; it just sounds like they got a simple loop that barely adds any substance. Raving in the studio - Aitch & Bou (7.5/10) The duo I never knew I needed! Sampling Gorillaz's 'Feel Good Inc' on the Drum N Bass X Rap song, this turns out to be a club banger! I honestly wish this charted higher; this isn't your usual drum and bass. Its high-octane energy is meant for radio, clubs, and celebrations! Truly a fun listen and a recommendation from me; check it out! 6. GBP - Central Cee/21 Savage (5/10) Tough British street rap returns, and I’m not really complaining. They both rap well together and have no trouble making a beat. The problem here is that everything just sounds as dull as can be. It's not something new from them; it features reused verses, the vocals feel too familiar, and it's lacking impact. The production is also basic—not bad, just simple. I can respect the Lyrical Lemonade video, though, because those shots were fire. But this track misses the mark and doesn't leave me eagerly awaiting Central Cee's upcoming album. REENTRIES: 95. Tweaker - Gelo (5/10) The US rapper G3 has had a breakthrough with 'Tweaker.' It sounds like he's tried to combine some old-school rap along with more autotune from the modern day, sounding like something Usher would fit on back in the day. It's quite different in sound compared to regular rap music, but it's just not good. It has a hook to capture a unique fanbase, which I respect, and I believe this has potential, but it's not for me. 92 - Real Man - Beabadoobee (7/10) I really like this song and the clean feel that Bea's songs are so natural, but that's not what I want to talk about. The song is speaking about what it's like to be a "real man," and I just want to let anyone out there know that you don't have to be some super charmer because you're a man or someone who is expected to serve more. I see that the most upvoted comment on the song's comments on Genius reads, "F*ck men fr." It saddens me that a great song is only hugely respected due to a toxic movement and trending in feminism. Way to ruin an amazing song, feminism. ☕️ (And I know this'll ruffle some feathers, but I'm not scared of controversy.) 75 - BAILE INOLVIDABLE - Bad Bunny (9/10) I really like how he used the traditional samba-like beat (I believe it's a samba) and high-pitched noises (Gonna be honest... I really can't find what they're called). But they sound AMAZING and bring a new layer to the track; it sounds traditional yet something to play in a club, and that's the incredible work Bad Bunny can do! A gem of a track, there's so much to unwrap here! 65 - NUEVAYOL - Bad Bunny (9/10) Amazing! What an album start! It's creative and showcases Bunny's ability to create an earworm of a song while still keeping a level of uniqueness to the song, from voice changes to a pumping beat, all the way to his artistic roots. Trying new things is the best part here, but every single song seems to only cater to a specific audience and comes off as a burning pile of garbage. Once again, please get back with Little Mix—for your career's sake. 26 - Do I Wanna Know - Hozier (6/10) Covering the Arctic Monkeys' 'Do I Wanna Know,' this was released in 2014 but retrended due to the BBC live version.
