Yeah all valid points :) I guess it's that pop-orientation that throws me off a little. I also think he's stronger when he's not doing his slow acoustic ballad style perhaps because it tends to be a bit more risky and different

I don't hate, I just think there are people out there who do what he does but WAY better. Like James Vincent McMorrow, like Ben Howard. They have a lot more about them. Ed's pleasant to listen to but it's all quite shallow IMO

My problem with Ed is that there are people that do what he does but OH SO MUCH BETTER. See James Vincent McMorrow, Ben Howard. Ed's music is fine but lyrically less interesting IMO, there's no imagery in it for me. His best song is 'So' from a while back, think it was before +

The greatest christmas song ever though is obviously I Believe in Father Christmas by Emerson, Lake and Palmer (even though they claim it isn't a Christmas song) Of these, the Pogues. Definitely love listening to both though.

Dance With Me Tonight is 100% my fave Olly song so very pleased it's at the top! People were so quick to write him off and I don't think anyone really expected him to get the success he has.

I lot of 60s music - Dylan, Hendrix, Janis Joplin. And then also the likes of Simon & Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell. Pretty much the standard classics, obviously the Beatles and the Stones. I love Motown so have quite a lot of that too. And then also some of the 70s era disco music. Not much from the 80s though.
