  6. Your the one giving to Sony. :P I recommend people stay well clear of being hooked into a viral campaign to emotionally extract money from them.
  7. Class! f*** me, you did just what they told ya. Indeed. You did just what Sony wanted you to do.

Which song has been #1 four times with four different artists. None of them at Xmas by the way!
  9. Pros and cons. Physical Pros: + Can be given as a present. + Gets visability in shops + Opportunity for HMV signing etc Cons: - No quick release possible - Change of release date more problematic - Fixed costs overheads - Potential loss if failure to sell sufficant quantity Downloads Pros: + Gets lots of instant one click sales + Can get sales directly by link from youtube and other video sites + Can release quickly + Can change release date easily + Can get visibility on front page of download sites with special offers....and being in download chart Cons: - Release date might have an error and stop sales aka Rihanna two weeks ago not available on first day
  10. And all Sony $$$ profits will be going to Sony!

I would prefer the X-Factor to cover something credible and actually something from a UK artist. The covering of US teen trash songs just creates more interest in US teen trash songs.
  12. But it's sure not going to do that, while publically he may play along(already is), privately he will be grinning from ear to ear. :arrr: It will polarise X-Factor lovers to buy the winning single to make it #1 thus ensuring more $$$ to both Simon Cowell and Sony. It really does smack of viral marketing of the clever kind. With RATM supporters being the sheep being brought to the cash til when they would not buy X-Factor hence this is another way to extract $$$.
  13. XFactor are easily winning the #1 Currently Lady Gaga is ahead on the #2 but it's very close. Surprised Cheryl is on 12% given it's lack luster iTunes performance to date.
  14. err, artistic control maybe, but Sony are still making the lion's share of the cash out of this stunt. :arrr:
  15. I'm surprised anyone thinks Video Phone will get to #2 next week. It will struggle to go Top10 imo. Is Beyonce promoting it on some TV program?

#18 now between Cheryl Cole(#17) and BEP(#19). These three keep changing places.
  18. You can't play a download in a CD player either! I'd have thought it's a record if it something musical you can listen to.

Radio 1 a-Listed. Seems to be on each time I tune in. Not sure the appeal either, rather middle of the road trashy track.
