It’s the same take I see from casual viewers every year. The UK only did well because every single person across every voting country in Eurovision listened to the news every day and knew the UK was “the biggest contributor to Ukraine”. They were fully braced with their phones when voting opened, not to vote for their favourite performances, but to thank Boris Johnson for all his hard work. The EBU supposedly nudged the UK into 2nd to host for them. Now the magic favour has worn off and the consecutive 0 points are proof that every single person suddenly hates the UK again. Funny how they never respond when asked why the UK has done terribly for 20+ years before that. Truly expert analysis.

It’s understandable that a lot of artists would not consider representing the UK when all they do is get flooded with hate from their own country as soon as it’s announced. It’s still viral, and the new version just replaced the old version, so it appears to have kept most (if not all) its original stream count and playlisting. The song just repeats the same verse and “I run” over and over for 2 minutes so I don’t understand what people think is so good about it.

Their original stream count appears to have been reinstated and now there are 2 versions of the same song.

People behaved like the world was ending when the song was removed, so it’ll be interesting to see if they come back now. I’ve read people insisting it sounds completely different, but honestly, it doesn’t. It’s so generic that he should have used a real vocalist in the first place.

This year's Christmas Number One race is dull. I don't think people even know Tom's song exists or that the chart is on Friday. Even if he somehow got the Number One now or after Christmas, the only thing that will be talked about is how Amazon scammed their way to Number One, as the song itself is a bit of a snoozefest.
