  1. I am sad that Jason will not participate but I admire him. All that money and the pressure by fans and media and he prefers to stay private. This makes him very special in these days world
  2. They did Milly. They played to 80 percent sold out arena in Hamburg, but this was the only one. Any other arena including in Amsterdam had only 40 percent sold out and Stuttgart was about 5,000 -6,000 they had to disguise this in the rangues. I have still the newspaper links. Aside of this I don't think that it is a problem that a band has revolving members. I loved Progress and I love Robbie and Gary singing the Flood and them doing Shame (though this is not TT).
  3. then they can be happy if they have him back as Progress is the most successful album of TT second time around. It even sells great outside the UK where none other TT album after BW even hit the top 20. I mean...they want to sell tickets and not perform in front of 5000 people in their second biggest market, Germany, again. This is a bit of a shame for a band who wants to be at the top
  4. It is no secret that I am a robbie fan and I like them unite for a one off in 2017. It will not be more as Robbie is doing his own huge tour again in 2017 and the lads have to do their Las vegas thing Robbie said he will not be part of. So you have only to deal with a short reunion, milly. Not many people will be of the opinion in hindsight of Robbie screaming and shouting instead of singing. TT 3/Gary will know that this is the last chance to get more than the die hard fans buying tickets. This time they cannot even count on tour sales as the last album was only a small success. A greatest hot may help. But I Always get the shudders myself when I see anyone else than Robbie sing the Flood
  5. You are right Laura this is human and this is how we would do it. But look at some of he huge stars and starlets who are huge because of whatever. They never seem to doubt. I guess that the higher up you are the more you can lose this self doubt or...vice versa like in Robbie's case
  6. I am always shaken in Robbie land. Sometimes we have all at once like in 2013 and 2014 and he was everywhere, and now you think he must start with something soon and there is nothing other than scary posts with bunnies and people telling about him seeing a therapist. Maybe he fears to fail? Maybe he overthinks too much. Then I saw a post that we will not be short of touring in the next ten years, but on the other side no sign of anything, the show, the acting or not, Soccer Aid I am always torn from hallelujah to hell with this man :-)
  7. I like his statement about grieve. I always felt blessed that I am the fan of a popstar who is able to make such tweets
  8. aside of the fact that I really miss Susie and Jackie I have not expected to be so comfortable with moving here. It is still always a nice talk and read. The positive vibe f trws have been transferred. I am happy to still have two places to speak Robbie rather that to read oneliners like on twitter or FB. I like some of the posts on the official site either. I sometimes read in the UK forum about the sales numbers too on here and in the TT thread realizing that the hard core fans there are also trying anything to explain low sales and the growing irrelevance of acts like TT (valid for Robbie either) just like I would do it for Robbie.
  9. There are rumours that Rob would do concerts in promo for the album in the UK and Germany in September. No idea of this is correct. I wonder how they coordinate the TT and Robbie brands these days as the lads will come up with a new album too and I always think that the buyers are merely the same. I can be wrong. Laura, I am waiting for Soccer Aid either as we will go and ...for the TV show news. That is what I want to know :-)
  10. Is Billy Joel singing in the Wembley Stadium, Laura?
  11. I was in Austria for two weeks and we had no snow at all :) nice temperatures Bigwiglaf
  12. What a great motto, Go Gentle through your life. If only it would not be so difficult some time.
  13. as usual I have another opinion :-). People who have bought Progress were so disappointed abut the release of III because it was so mediocre that they did not buy it. If it had been good, the huge TT fan base who visited the concerts in anticipation would have bought it. They didn't because it was a very mediocre offering. A lot of people had been left disappointed by the tour either. It was a show, but not something heartfelt. Read this article which gives an impression what is necessary if the Zenith is behind a star. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/arts-an...2015/?tid=sm_fb Plus, TT are UK centred. They think they can handle their still existing fanbase in other countries by occasional visits, which had been punished this time either. They did not even sell 30,000 copies of III outside the UK. They should have called it a day after Jason left and should have concentrated on musical/solo in Gary's case, and the projects Howard and Mark are up to in their cases. They are great, but times have changed. This will very likely valid for Robbie either as solo act - so don't get me wrong here. In his case, the difference is the appreciation outside the UK just like the last tour in more than 30 countries showed. By the way Robbie said that he will NOT rejoin TT for any project including Vegas
  14. I love different and as you say Syd,the video was so realistic that I had goosebumps watching his eyes
  15. does at least in 2016 mean, maybe earlier? I cannot wait to know what the TV thing is. And what about the thing with HBCarter? They said in Dutch shobiz news that a famous Brit singer will play a role in the next Tarantino movie as a bad guy. I thought about Rob, but then he will not do movies I guess
  16. Happy and healthy Christmas to everyone and your families
  17. The new sound was not down to Gary, if any than Marks' influence was huge on Progress. The Flood was written by Robbie already in 2009 which is stated in the book you know me. Rob was the one who had been called by Jason for counsel as Jason admitted himself. I agree though that the reasons for the unification was mainly due to other reasons than love, TT needed Robbie as they were going nowhere outside the UK without him. No one wanted to hear an old boyband in Europe. There only ever single selling there was Patience until Progress came up. The new album confirmed this. And Robbie needed someone to help him against the stage fright.I saw the concert twice, one time in the UK and I remember the 'oh' when Robbie came on stage. The question if the rejunion changed the dynamics of the band? Maybe, but you cannot always stick to the ever the same. And well, to stay with Gary's word. Remember the Paul o'Grady show? It was not Robbie who had to excuse. It was TT and Gary in particular who had to as they were not there for him and they did, different to some of the fans
  18. TT and Robbie benefited both 2011. Aside of this as they have their own careers, rob with three successful tours, TT with one in the Uk. but like paul McC will always be a Beatle, Rob will always be part of TT and when they want to have a special success again outside the uk they simply need him
  19. you are celebrating a chart peak of number 39? A LV show no one knows how big it will be and if it is successful...? Acts like the Corrs do better chartwise. They have to rely on ex-pats for the shows to run first, but to keep running they would need the American audience either. Can they do it? Maybe as show, but not because they are TT. What is TT anyway these days in the shows with all the effects and dancers and? Rob could have his own show, he indicated it last year to do something in America. He was offered one some years ago, but denied. He had three world tours with 50 shows each in 3 years. He hardly need them. Aside of the reunion tears Progress was all about the money. He need a hook back then for self assurance and they needed a hook in Europe. It was successful. And don't forget that their only publically AND critically acclaimed album, which was also successful outside the UK, is Progress. I agree with Kath about Hey Boy. I like that they tried something different. And regarding the Ticketmaster voting it sure means UK tours, does it?
  20. They have to try new markets as they have achieved anything in the UK with the fanbase they have and they stick with them. Those do not even buy the new album/DVD. Aside of this I really wonder how they will do selling wise. They will do good in Singapore I guess and Las Vegas because of the xpats and the holidayers storming their show I am sure. But in Europe and the European countries they did not have a hit for a decade? It will be interesting. Robbie did very well. But he is far better selling outside the UK than TT. The requests are there. But I know this from Robbie fansom either. They send requests from the Himalaya to perfom there. It has to transfer to the general public. Let's see. I hope it will go well.
  21. I don't think that Jason will come back and Robbie - as far as we know - will tour by himself in 2917. I can imagine him back for a one off though. I have followed the European reactions to Robbie's and TT tour this year and while Robbie was celebrated everywhere aside of Denmark and Sweden TT simply didn't sell neither did their album. I am no fan of TT 3, I like TT4 and I love TT5. I am honest with that. Progress was fantastic and I have many members of my family who love the Circus. III was underwhelming for me and the show is less about TTT than a huge spectacle. This does not transfer to Europe since a long time and shows in TT sans Robbie lack of success. This does not mean that they are anything else but great. It is simple not people's taste and not the taste of the hour. I am honest enough to see this as Robbie's problem either Sold out tours but while SBW soled almost two million I am not sure about a pop album. I don't think that the number of expats will help TT in the USA. They would have bought their albums in the past than either saleswise. I think though that a showlike they do transfer to Las vegas simple as the show it is, even when they would be totally unknown. Who like this kind of show willlove it. I think that they will be hugely successful. gary never will do anything which is not thought through
  22. But they had a tour in Europe this year which was less than overwhelming sales wise. Two venues in Germany only had 6500 people instead of 15000 they normally hold. They may do small venues though. I think that the Las Vegas show fits them and the overproduction of their shows. gary is friends with Harvey Weinstein and he is very influential. I think this las vegas thing will be more successful than anything they can do in the rest of Europe outside od the UK these days.
  23. I think that they would fit great into Vegas with this extended musical like performances. gary is friends with Harvey Weinstein and he is a major player. However even in the TT thread they cannot really understand it because TT are not as big as Elton John or other artists who have a residency in vegas. If it is happening - and I can believe it - then good luck to them. They may mix musical into it.
