Living For The Weekend - Fifth Album Discussion Thread
I actually don't care that they keep pushing the album back. It's better to release an album when it can be properly promoted. (Remember OYR era when they were dealing with Frankie & the tour rehearsals?) I honestly rather wait until all 5 of them are back together & do a proper tour. This tour better go world wide. Even if it is as a support act here in Canada/US. Team Sats North America is waiting...

Lol that's so true. You know I think it's over in the US. As badly as I wanted this to happen, I just think it's too late.

I'm not surprised to be honest. The general audience in US/Canada want drama. Think about it, all the highest rated shows with girls/women are ones where they're fighting: Kardashians, Bad Girls Club, Real Housewives. It's sick and twisted & the girls said it themselves the producers were hoping for fights but they just didn't get it. Someone tweeted: "oh the show is fake because 5 girls didn't fight which is not real" LOL this is how people on this side of the world see reality TV. I can only pray for a miracle that coming to America isn't over & that Mercury will give the Sats a chance to launch properly, the way all other artists do it instead of relying on a less than successful reality show. But I'm not sure considering the circumstances, the girls just got knocked up at a very inconvenient time. I'm sorry to say it.

Gentleman // Single 3
So the lyric video has been blocked here in Canada (I assume the same goes for the US) So great news, the song will not be released here. I'm just PRAYING that Higher or All Fired Up will be released as a next single. I really hope Mercury just gives them another chance with a proper radio tour & promotion to back them up.

Gentleman // Single 3
First off, we often hear people say "oh another generic track." So the Sats then release something different & edgy & we say it wont be as successful as the track we categorized as GENERIC (30 Days, What About Us.) Lol We are impossible to please. As for my opinion, I can't believe this was the best song they could release as a second single. They always knock it out of the park with the second single (Higher, All Fired Up) & I'm not certain that they have with this. Still too early to tell.

Yeah Vanessa does look a bit fearful, which is an understandable fear. I mean if Vanessa doesn't sound good, that's exactly what most people will say. Team Sats is a bit more hard on her when It comes to delivering vocals than the other girls. At least that's the way it seems sometimes based on YouTube comments & stuff.

Frankie Sandford & Wayne Bridge
Congrats to Frankie & stuff but am I the only one who isn't like thrilled over all these pregnancies? Like I know what I'm saying is incredibly selfish & a little mean, but it's kind of hard for our girls to attempt world domination when 3/5 members are married with child(ren) lol. Oh well. I'll stand by me Sats anyway.

What About Us
^ Thank God someone else said it. I really hope Frankie is not expecting or I really feel this will be the end of this band.

So true. But I guess the question is now, when is the best time to release the album? Considering the fact that I don't want them to give up here in the U.S.

Sats iTunes Watch Part 2.
Yeah I was jus thinking earlier that all the promo they did really was for the show. Jay Leno & Today Show which are both on NBC (affliliated with E!) and Wendy Williams again they flew back to promote the show right before it was ending. The only difference is that they were a musical guest in addition to the interview.

Gentleman // Single 3
Maybe I missed something but has it been confirmed officially that this is indeed the next single or is it just speculation?

I think what makes a good singer is not someone who can do amazing high notes (that's just a plus,) but someone who simply has a nice tone to their voice & I think Frankie has that. She was the lead in the juniors (along with Stacey/Rochelle) & it seems like sometimes we (as in the people) discredit her vocal ability because we are comparing her voice to Vanessa or Rochelle. Their individuality is what makes them great as a whole, which is why I don't think any of them are replaceable.

Mediabase is the place to be to request The Sats. But I do agree they are going to have to do a major radio tour to increase the spins.

^ I really hope Scooter Bruan can help these girls get on this tour. (Personally I'd like for him to manage them lol) but the problem is (and I'm really happy for Rochelle) but it seems like this pregnancy came at an inconvenient time for the group. I mean they promoted the show which is a good introduction but I want the 5 of them to come back here (US/Canada) & do a proper radio tour (that takes time) and get radio backing them up, which will eventually result in single sales. And if that goes well then they could have a hit & book radio gigs all summer.

I think it's a different situation as this was Tulisa's debut album as a solo artist where the Sats have already established a fanbase. That being said, it's going to take more than the loyal fanbase to make this album successful for the Sats. I agree the album should be released around the time of the second single.

I really Frankie's voice when she performed "Love The Way You Lie" by Rihanna. Mollie surprised me when she performed "Wish I Didn't Know" on the All Fired Up tour. I think they're both good singers but I think Frankie is a bit more versatile than Mollie.

What About Us // Single 2 // Part 2
What a strange song to be #1. I mean I understand the classic song thing but Blue, Atomic Kitten & Five were all performed on Ant & Dec. I guess they're just very well liked by the UK public.
-
What About Us // Single 2 // Part 2
I remember some twitter comments: The Saturdays haven't even cracked the UK or there is a reason why the Sats don't have a #1.." well EAT THAT SUCKERS. They are #1 and it IS a big deal. There is no one that can take this excitement away from Team Sats today! So happy & proud of everyone in the UK supporting this song. Hope it blows up here in Canada & US

YES ^ Team Sats we need to request!!

Saturdays iTunes Watch
^ I wasn't expecting the performance to do much. The timing of Rochelle's pregnancy wasn't the best but I do feel the other 4 girls could have stayed in the US/Canada to begin the massive radio tour & later on focus on TV performances. Again something like American Idol or The Voice is what the girls need for major exposure.

What About Us // Single 2 // Part 2
I think it's interesting you bring up the Big Reunion because I was thinking how B*Witched had 3-4 consecutive number 1 singles if I heard correctly. The lead single from their 2nd album was #4 & everything went down hill from there. The point is, it's like the Saturdays said in an interview, they proved they don't need a #1, they've accomplished so much without it. That being said, I want a #1 as much as the next member of Team Sats & at this point in their career it would really take them to the next level.

What About Us // Single 2 // Part 2
I'd like to know from the UK fans, why does it seem like The Saturdays are so underrated in the UK? I mean in all honesty. I mean, they're so beautiful & they actually have TALENT.
-
What About Us // Single 2 // Part 2
lol There arent many channels in the US that actually play music videos anymore. The most popular used to be MTV aka MUSIC TV which should be changed to RTV cause all they play is reality garbage. Anyways here in Canada, MuchMusic is probably the biggest music channel & their video is getting regular spins. I catch it on the TV every week. Much More Music is another channel & I have seen their video on there once or twice.

The Saturdays in America
It's an EP anyways. Every new artist releases an EP and it's not expected to sell much (correct me if I'm wrong). Unless you've experienced some sort of success with like a single then I would think the label expects a decent amount of sales because of all the promotion that has gone into it. It's just to get some sort of material out there for people to purchase. Once the full on promo comes for the singles and eventually the album, that's when sales are very important.

What About Us // Single 2 // Part 2
I agree. Like you said, I believe they will find some form of success in the US. I also agree with the person that said they need another manager on board with them. Personally I would say Scooter Bruan cause he has good contacts but he's probably so full with all his acts. So I say someone like LA Reid but again he has a bunch of Simon's acts now. Whatever, I have a faith!
