I always thought and I still do think that Mark was absolutely awful live during the first tour because he wanted to improvise but he failed. Now, I do agree he oversings it sometimes but at least he doesn't miss a note so I can't say he ruins the songs. I appreciate he adds something different compared to Shane who always sounds exactly like on the album which is honestly a rare gift. Shane leads 99% of the songs though, Mark is always second.

You are incredibly negative whatever they do, sometimes I wonder if you are still their fan. Some fans have waited for years to see them live, they sure are awful to do this...

I honestly don't know why I hoped for anything different. Even if they are delayed shows from 2020, they only perform Hello My Love from the previous album which is also crazy. They had not one but two albums in the meantime and yet they make this into a greatest hits tour. Walsh is probably to blame, he is the one who is convinced fans only want the same old hits over and over again  I say old because its like they forgot they have other hits like Tonight, Obvious, I Lay My Love On You, Hey Whatever etc.

I definitely agree with you that Mark is a more exciting singer, I really like his improvisations now. But Mark back then would have hated the role of a leading man, being constantly in the center, needing to always talk in intervews, starting the songs etc. He was so worried about his weight as well and Simon/Louis often calling him fat didn't help at all. He was depressed a lot in the early days and having suicidal thoughts when he was thinking he can't be openly gay. So just from that point of view it is better he isn't a leading singer.

I don't think Mark back then could handle that well, he was very insecure about a lot of things, even his singing. So its better Shane was a frontman, he has a rare ability to sound exactly the same live as on the record, I never heard him miss a note.

I honestly don't get it. Why the hell even name the new tour Wild Dreams if they only sing lead single. They had 3 years for this tour and its laughable they sang more new songs on their comeback tour than this one. But it seems majority is loving this so ok.

Westlife
Yes, they removed Super Trooper and Safe and added Queen Of My Heart, Unbreakable and I'm Already There

I highly doubt that, Queen one also had too many songs.

Who are those people then, not really Westlife fans right? I get that but I think they should cater to the fans and not some average Joe, I am sure there are more devoted fans than casual people.

Westlife - Wild Dreams
I am sorry but depite all that, this doesn't excuse such a setlist. I don't think comparing the reaction of Dynamite is fair, fans didn't know that song very well. I am sure the reaction now would be completely different. I personally wouldn't mind anything if they simply didn't go on this tour naming it Wild Dreams and then not performing anything except Starlight. If they just cut ABBA medley in half, they could have had some of those songs. I don't mind this Medley through, why not.

Westlife - Wild Dreams
Its funny they said they wrote Take Me There having Wembley in mind, they imagined crowd singing with them. Alive is also perfect for live performance, so is The Difference, Hey Whatever, even Turnaround was fun when they did it. They really shouldn't feel like they are chained to their hits, I don't know why they feel like that. Have they forgotten how excited people were when they brought Love Takes Two out of the blue? If they just sing hits, then its just Greatest Hits part 10. If anything, its absurd to name a tour Wild Dreams and then don't even sing that song.

Yes I do think this is Walsh's doing but he is wrong. Fans want the change, only general public would want the hits. They could have at least made a shorter Medley which would leave more time for new songs, 9 songs Abba section is just too much. Heck, they could even make a Medley of Westlife album tracks, I am sure fans would be thrilled about that.

Westlife - Wild Dreams
This is just embarassing, they had 2 albums and they just sing 2 songs from them. They should have just ditched the Wild Dreams title and have All The Hits because this really isn't a Wild Dreams tour. I saw Michael Buble live in 2015 and 2019. Both were completely different concerts, he repeated only 4 songs. That is how you do it.

Why is it embarassing to play smaller venues when they are playing at Wembley and Aviva? I am amazed at your constant negativity Sean.

Westlife - Wild Dreams
I find it ridiculous Nicky and Kian can't sing the new songs considering they are not hard at all. I don't know what it is, is it just the lack of confidence or what but they shouldn't have verses in songsif they can't sing them live.

Guys can do whatever the hell they want, if they just want to tour, its their choice, plenty of older acts just do that. However, I do think they still enjoy making music and Wild Dreams is a great album. Besides, I think their performance on Dancing on Ice was quite good, they didn't look lifeless to me. They can't really jump around when they are on those platforms and the act is never the star, the dancers are. They delivered a good vocal performance, that is the main thing.

It seems to me Kian doesn't want to have a solo career, that is why he only released a quick cover album after I'm a Celebrity win. I can see Shane continuing his solo career in the future and I would love to see what would Mark do for his 2nd album. He just deserves to be backed up by a good label who would actually respect his creativity and not force him to release something on his own because they don't want to do that.

I think My Hero was only released because of Pride of Britain, it wouldn't have been otherwise. It was just a decent album track that was fitting for the show so I am not sure if they view it as a proper single.

Exactly. I think us as fans sometimes worry too much about charting and sales. Did they give us a good album? Yes, an an album they were heavily involved after a long time. That is all that matters, the rest that happens isn't solely on them, we don't really know everything that goes around them. I just think saying they don't care is an easy answer and a bit unfair, otherwise we wouldn't have gotten Wild Dreams. Its not all about charting, they all look very happy and relaxed - I'd rather have them like this while they enjoy being as Westlife than stressing out and wanting to quit.

Westlife - Wild Dreams
Be that as it may, having Starlight video on time wouldn't have made any difference because there was no buzz surrounding their release, not like Hello My Love which was definitely fueled by the fact it was a first single after 7 years and maybe even the fact that Ed wrote it for them.
-
Westlife - Wild Dreams
Only 2 f the videos actually payed off, Hello My Love and Better Man. You have to look at it from the label's perspective and even pandemic crisis which wasn't the case in 2019. Why would they spend money on new videos when Starlight and My Hero basically flopped? That is how they think. They haven't toured in 2 years so there is no income there. Plus, its not like Spectrum had good sales after December, their every album is practically nowhere to be seen come January. I just think its pointless to expect something big from a 23 year old band.
