Westlife - Spectrum
I don’t mind if they want to continue to be a group that wants to entertain their fans with their voices, silly dance routines and not much else - after all, there are plenty of artists out there who do just that. BUT, then don't mention Cirque Du Soleil show, how it will be a spectacle, they are Westlife 2.0 blalabla. You are hyping something that simply isn't there. I guess Walsh is the one to blame, as per usual, he loves spreading crap like that whenever chance he has. I also think they should change their setlist a bit next time as they choose the same hits in their last few tours. I think fans would love to hear Obvious, Tonight, Hey Whatever, Beautiful World or even an album track they really like. I remember fans were very happy when they threw in Love Takes Two on one of their concerts. At least skip Mandy, I am sick of thst song.

Not sure how you got to that conclusion. This to me sounds like the album has the potential to have big hits and that doesn’t imply the album is mediocre.

Westlife - Hello My Love • Part 2
That is good, I think a song like that has a chance to chart better. The same happened to Jonas Brothers. Sucker was a success but Cool that is closer to their older material didn’t do much. Its good to point out they also reached 1 million listeners on Spotify.

Well the acoustic versions tend to be guitar based so I don't see the problem with this. Of course HML was completely different as that one was an upbeat track that got turned into a ballad, I wasn't expecting much of a change in Better Man that is already a ballad.

I like the title and the artwork is nice. I see they kept the tradition of every boyband by having 1 or 2 members looking slightly or completely the other way

Westlife - Better Man
This isn't about the single but: https://www.cinemalive.com/event/Westlife Here is a very good interview with Mark, Shane and Nicky: I'm glad that they are careful and that they are paying attention to what they will do next. No matter how much we as fans like Better Man, it was not the best choice for a single and that is a fact.

I don’t think I would be a fan if Westlife goes country, they should stick to pop, maybe venture to a bit of RnB but thats it.

Guys you are stressing way to much over Westlife's chart position. We can moan about streaming all we want but that won't change. Its definitely true that if Ed released HML and BM, it would chart a lot better, it is what it is because Ed is still in his peak days. I mean, the songs from Divide all entered in Top 10, that just shows how huge he still is. Westlife are way past their peak and that is a fact. Westlife fans won't buy 60K of their singles, its not how things work now, we simply can't expect of fandom to do that and I mean ANY fandom, things are really not that simple. Brian's comeback wouldn't help either in the long run if that would make the guys feel bad and uneasy. I don't know what the hell Brian even wants, one moment he praises the guys and the next he likes the tweets in which someone mentions Westlife didn't even mention him on Jonathan Ross show - there was no reason to mention him as they didn't talk that much about the history of the band, they haven't even mentioned Nicky auditioned so why would they bring Brian. I think he would just bring a bad energy.

Westlife - Better Man
I think what myxxd was trying to say that its impossible to compare the success of singles and albums today. Old acts can still have success with the albums but singles are a whole different matter so you won’t see the likes of Sting or Celine Dion topping singles chart and I mention them just because they also have devoted fans who go to their concerts, I’m sure they also have 64 000 fans who could buy their singles but they are still not no. 1 every time. We could say that about any act who sells out successful tours around the world. I mean, even Take That are a perfect example, even as a trio they have successful albums but their singles aren’t. We all know Westlife will have a successful album, no one is even questioning that. But comparing albums and singles with the streaming era is like mixing apples and oranges. I mean, albums are still bought while even seeing a physical copy of the single is a rare sight nowadays. Streaming can certainly stop you from having a succesful single, no doubt about that.

This really showcases just how important streaming is. So you really do have to also interest general public enough if you want to have success these days. Unfortunately Better Man simply didn’t do that but maybe next single will.

Nothing Westlife does now can tarnish what they achieved before so yes, in this day and age, we can and more importantly should be impressed by their success even if it isn't no. 1. or Top 10 and exactly because streaming is so important. Like I said, no one ever expected for HML to be such a success but it was. It didn't happen with Better Man but it is not a tragedy. It might pick up in the next few weeks or it might not but it really doesn't matter. I am actually glad it seems the guys aren't worried like most WL fans are because if they did constantly worry, their comeback wouldn't have been enjoyable and it would probably be short.

I was hoping they would at least be in the Top 20. That's a shame but I can't say I am too surprised.

When you think about TV promo, I am not even sure they have many options. You have Graham Norton they have been on, Jonathan Ross, I guess there are Lorraine and Loose Women but I don’t think those help that much anyway. In Ireland they already did D’Arcy and I suppose all that is left is Late Late Show.

I think both Nicky and Kian were perfectly fine, they do deserve to be heard in a song, especially if its like these 10 seconds parts. Anywhere might still be around but we don’t know for sure now.

Westlife - Better Man
I just knew it this wouldn’t be a good choice for the single. They should have left these types of songs for the album. I mean, I didn’t see particularity bad reaction - everyone says it is either good or decent and that HML was a better choice. Plus, this isn’t Westlife 2.0 like they promised, this is a typical WL ballad that could fit on any previous album. Don’t get me wrong, I like this song - it sure beats Lighthouse - but its just not right for the charts. Hope it will pick up eventually but I am not bolding my breath.

Its a good song and all but I'm not sure it is the right single choice. We'll see. I love the fact that Kian and Nicky have once again singing parts.
