Its not a big deal considering streaming is more important these days and its expected considering the single got released 8 weeks ago.

I was just thinking about the Brits and how it would be nice if they get a nomination next year after the album gets released - or maybe a EMA nomination. I don't expect them to win considering they only won 2 Brits andd 1 EMA in the early days but who knows. A performance would be nice as well, that Uptown Girl performance at the Brits back in 2001 was cool.

Worrying about them being dropped is silly, especially since they sold out their tour. I think releasing more singles is a great way to keep promoting the album, it doesn’t matter how the actual singles are doing. I don’t think 14th September is a correct date though because that falls on Saturday. But September/October release would be good.

New Kids on The Block have a new song Boys In The Band, like an homage to boyband. They even mentioned Westlife :D Anyway, Westlife are at #11 in Ireland and #32 in UK this week.

How is that plenty? Only 2 TV performances and these radio interviews were not that big and there they actually promoted their tour more, not the single. Radio 1 never plays them, thankfully they have the support from Radio 2. Besides, I mean that the single is steady despite having a promo more than a month ago - Westlife's singles usually drop out of the chart rather quickly so this is a nice change.

They have done tv promo in the first 2 weeks - they had 2 live performances on Graham Norton show and NTV Awards. Not much else as far as I know, only a few radio interviews but that was also during the first 2 weeks.

This is true of course and that can be said by any song of popular singers these days, whether its from Ed or Ariana Grande. But at the same time, it can't be denied Perfect was a gigantic hit for Ed, even bigger than Castle on The Hill and Shape of You, it probably became THE wedding song for many people.

Yes, it will be interesting to see how the ballad will be received as a single. I would normally say ballads don't work anymore in the charts but Ed's Perfect sure proved that it can work.

Thats great! I honestly never expected the single to have such a great result on Spotify. And its all done without any promo, they really should feel happy and proud of this.

I think its great they are planning to release singles before the album gets released. They used to do that in the early days but I guess Simon was afraid of losing the no. 1s so they stopped which is crazy. And its such a shame 3 of their albums had only lead single and thats it. Like I said, in some way I am glad for the change in the industry just because nothing stops them from having 5 singles per album like so many artists tend to do which is a great promo for the album.

Its funny that they had 15000+ copies sold both weeks and its 19-24 of a difference in the charts. Its a great result and with no promo.

Where did you read that? Anyway, its amazing how well the single is doing, its already outsold the sales of less popular Westlife singles. However, the list probably isn’t updated with the streams and all that. Does anybody have an updated list of the Westlife singles sales?
