I didn't see it that way though. They all looked happy while performing and backstage. But yeah, I read one comment saying: Why anyone performs at the NTAs is beyond me - the sound is always horrendous.

I'm pretty sure Kian didn't mime but I am not so sure about Nicky to be perfectly honest. As for Shane, I think the sound of the show in general is not very good so it may seem Shane is struggling but I don't think he was. Its obvious he is nervous at the start but once the chorus kicked in, he was great just as he always is while Mark was actually great from the start.

I thought Shane and especially Mark were great. the performance isn't their best but it is still a very good performance. I see comments that Nicky and Kian mimed. I can't say 100% it is true but... If it is, then I don’t get why they recorded the song like this knowing it will be a single if Nicky and Kian weren’t comfortable enough to sing those lines live. They should have just sang on the album if they really wanted to. Plus, I’m pretty sure they could have handled those lyrics, they are probably doing this as a safety net. I do hope they will not mime on the tour though, they never did before.

Swear It Again charted #20 but thats about it. I don't think they even tried to break the US afterwards. I think there were talks during their 3rd album but they change their minds in the end.

Yeah, I saw that on Instagram and I wonder what it is. Anyway, its good to see them climbing on the UK Apple chart without any real promo.

Westlife is barely in the Top 30 in the Mids. Hopefully the performance on Tuesday will help but I’m not holding my breath.

But you can’t really count the extra 5k + all the other sales because that is 9 days of sales then.

They sold 20 575 copies. On pursuit of their 15th No.1 single, the reformed Irish boy band Westlife made a good start when Hello My Love – their first single in more than seven years – topped Saturday’s sales flashes but it faded considerably as the week progressed, and debuts at a less stellar No.13 (20,675 sales). Penned by Ed Sheeran and producer Steve Mac, and taken from their upcoming 11th studio album, it is their 28th hit, and only the third to fall short of the Top 10. So the sales were high on Saturday, that means Thursday didn’t really hurt them I guess.

39 copies really sucks but considering this is the streaming era, who knows, they might end up no. 1 next week.

I felt the same way. Its decent enough for an album track but definitely not for the single. The only part I really love is when Shane goes into "I owe it all to you...". And I guess all is tainted because we knew they were planning to release Mark's co-written song Beautiful World but then the label changed the decision at the very last minute. I'm pretty sure the boys showed how much they liked the song by not even singing it on their last tour :D

I think the strategy actually worked because the song keeps climbing on streaming charts after the initial push and then tumble from the Norton performance. Too bad we can't know the actual sales on Friday, whether they were lower or higher than Thursday sales but I think the strategy worked in the long run. Plus, its huge they are performing on Tuesday, hopefully that will help the single.

They keep mentioning their physical copies of the single so hopefully that will help. Its would be a shame if it indeed misses a Top 10 but even outside, its a great result.

I know, thats why I mentioned it. If they don't like boybands, that would be one thing, but they clearly have something against Westlife. I hoped this would change now considering Ed co-wrote the song and it is a catchy current pop song but I guess some things never change.

As long as they they stay in Top 10 by Friday, that will be amazing. Seriously, I don't think many WL fans realize how amazing this result is. It doesn't matter how big they were - the streaming changed everything and it amazing that traditional boyband like Westlife will possibly have a Top 10 hit after 7 years of being away and being known for 20 years. Not to mention they haven't exactly went insane with a promo and the fact that Radio 1 hasn't included them in the playlist. They are such hypocrites by the way, if One Direction released this, I bet you they would be played there and even would have an interview with their best friend Grimshaw.

If they do promo and have steady streaming, it might end up being a decent hit - it might not end up like 90% of Westlife singles were in the past, where they hit no. 1 and then tumbled down on the 2nd week.

They are still #8 today, thats great.

Nice to see them actually climbing on the Spotify chart, thats 15 places since yesterday, I think they were #113 yesterday. And they are back at #1 on Amazon store. Hopefully this will be enough for them to hang on in Top 10 by Friday but we'll see.

I see comments on Twittter, people getting mad at the label for releasing the single on Thursday, thats ok if it hurt the boys but I was just thinking, did it really hurt them? We know they sold 5.1k on Thursday thanks to the Friday official chart but do we know how much they sold on Friday? I don't think there are stats for that. If they sold more than 5.1k, say 6-7k on Friday, then label's strategy obviously worked as they would be ahead by 1-2k copies. So its wrong to say they lost that 5.1k because of Thursday. Of course, if they sold less than 5.1k, say 2-3k, then yeah, that sucks a little. But what I'm trying to say is that I see what they were going for, get the fans and most of all non-WL fans familiar with the song ahead of Friday and their big Norton performance. But I guess we will never know if the strategy worked since we don't have the sales for Friday only.

The fact that they aren't dropping like a stone on Spotify is great, I was sure they would drop a lot considering they don't have any TV promo.

Why the label chose Thursday is beyond me. People say because that way can defend themselves if it flops but thats ridiculous, they must have known the song would sell quite well on its first day.
