Here is Kian performing with Jodi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdibVHcDcSk He is currently #12 in Ireland and #45 in the UK - that is very good, I thought he would plummet down hard as the week goes by.

Not so sure about that, he is currently #35 on iTunes. But who knows, I remember Shane wasn't very high on iTunes but he ended up at #6 on the official chart.

Kian Egan - Home
I'm listening to the album right now and it is seriously not bad. He chose songs wisely, his voice suits great on Not a Day Goes By and I'm Ready for example. And I have to say he really surprised me on that high note on The Reason. I'm pretty sure this album won't be hugely successful but at least he proved he can carry a tune on his own. This album is a cash in, he never denied that. but I commend him for taking a shot. Also, I'm pleasantly surprised how positive reviews are - they just criticize him for being safe with covers, but since we know why and how this album came to be, no point in resent him for that: http://www.fortitudemagazine.co.uk/music/a...gan-home/16898/ http://www.rte.ie/ten/news/2014/0314/60229...kian-egan-home/ http://celebnews.today/2014/03/10/review-k...ge-hit-with-us/ http://uk.celebrity.yahoo.com/news/kian-eg...-184200891.html

Sara Bareilles - I Choose You
Here is a slightly different arrangement of the song she performed on Jimmy Fallon, I think this is the best version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...p;v=p8CczdELBi0

Sara Bareilles - Brave
Me too. Actually there is not a song on the album that I don't love, but my favorites are definitely Cassiopeia and Islands - Islands is such a hauntingly beautiful song. I would like her to release even a 4th single, I know it was almost confirmed that the 3rd one will be Chasing the Sun.

I think everyone reacts that way when they first hear him sing, even Westlife fans :D It does kind of suck he is releasing a cover album, but this opportunity can only be good for him as no one can say now he can't sing. If Westlife reunite in the future, I hope he gets more solos. I think even Nicky has a good voice, he is also recording so we will also hear more of him.

Here is the album sampler: I don't like it either that he again covered The Reason, but it is nice to hear him sing it on his own. I'm looking forward on hearing I'm Ready because I love that song. And Jodi and Kian sound great on Run To You, their voices blend nicely, it sounds like a great duet. Listening to all that again makes me think it is such a shame he never got more solos in Westlife, it wasn't fair that Mark and Shane were dominating - yes, they do have stronger voices, but this shows Kian has also a very good voice so he could have easily been more involved in Westlife vocally.

Sara Bareilles - I Choose You
I think Chasing the Sun will definitely be a single eventually, she said so a couple of times. In her hilarious letter to 2014 http://www.sarabmusic.com/news/saras-letter-to-2014/ she specifically said "We are getting ready to launch some big plans for supporting "I Choose You" and the rest of songs on The Blessed Unrest" So I'm glad she is planning more singles. Also, it makes me happy she mentions touring outside US, it would be a dream for me if she comes to Europe, I would to certainly make an effort to go and see her. By the way, I'm not scared what will happen if she flops. Even if she does, I don't see that stopping her from still recording music, she would just find a new label, maybe even start her own label. I think Sara is the kind of artist that will sing forever, she will never retire because music is everything to her - she is happiest when she sings to smaller audiences, she doesn't like huge venues.

Here is what Kian said about the album: "I never expected it is the real answer. When I came out of the jungle and I got the phone call saying that a record label wanted to sign me, I was quote taken back by it." Everything seemed to be heading more in the TV direction which is what I was really happy [about]…and I was really enjoying. When the opportunity came about I thought 'I've gotta go for it'. What an amazing opportunity…to make your own album and have a major record label [Warner Bros.] get behind you and put it out there. "It's all just happened really, really, really fast… "The reason why Home was chosen was that it struck a nerve with me every time I was listening to my iPhone or my iPod." He added: "It feels right. It sounds the way I want it to sound for people to hear me for the first time. That's the other thing for me, an awful lot of people have never heard me sing a full song, they've heard snippets here and there. At least he is being honest and fair play to him for saying all this. Everyone who says this is rubbish, thats their opinion which i respect. But 1 thing is for sure: Kian proved to everyone he has a good voice, no one can say he was in Westlife because he was just a pretty face. Sure, his vocals aren't amazing like Shane and Mark, but he really does have a good pleasant voice.

Yes, it is a cover from Daughtry, but I can we just ignore that for a second and say Kian can REALLY sing. Seriously, he sounds really good, His voice never stood out in Westlife but I think now he proved he really can sing. I think no one can say now he can't sing - it all comes down to singing songs that suit your voice. However, I am disappointed he went for cover album because he is a decent songwriter BUT I do understand why he rushed it - he obviously wants to release it at the back of I'm a Celebrity Get Me Outta Here win. Then again, I don't think he is taking this very seriously - he is doing just for kicks of it and if it makes him some money, that is just a bonus. He said he won't cry into a pillow if nobody buys his album He admitted this came out of the blue thanks to the win so he is just having fun. When/If he takes it seriously, he will do an original album.

Sara Bareilles - I Choose You
I think it is a great choice for a single as it is very radio friendly and it has positive lyrics once again. Plus, the song already made an impact among gay communities as many relate to the lyrics. I can't wait for the music video.

Pentatonix - An Excellent Vocal Group
I'm glad someone made a thread abut them - I LOVE them and I agree they are brilliant - Carol of the Bells gave me goosebumps when I first heard it. They have released 2 EP's so far, I hope they make an album one day.
-
Shane Filan - You And Me
I definitely agree Mark owns the song, but his career hasn't started yet so it is perfectly normal Shane is singing - plus, i'm sure Walsh pulled some strings to get him on the show. Nicholas said he is very honored as he is a massive Westlife fan :) I understand what you mean about Shane's album, but I think it is great that it is very consistent - it just shows he has found his sound, he isn't lost like some artists are. But i do think he needs to take more contemporary pop/rock vibe on the 2nd album if he wants bigger success - this album is very good, but this kind of easy-listening, mellow songs aren't popular right now. But I have to say I can listen to the album again and again, it doesn't bore me at all - it just has this postive happy vibe which is infectious.

Shane Filan - You And Me
GREAT news: Shane will sing on the final X Factor night, he will do a duet with X Factor act Nicholas McDonald singing Flying Without Wings! Even though they are singing a Westlife song, this should help Shane with sales. At least I hope it does :)

Sara Bareilles - The Blessed Unrest
I'm so happy that Sara got the nomination for the album. I don't think she will win as I think Taylor, Bruno and Mucklemore have a bigger chance of winning because they are more popular - BUT it is a great honor that they even nominated her, I never expected that! However, this just proves that Grammy's don't take only sales into account. I hate that many said she doesn't deserve the nomination - just because the album hasn't sold millions doesn't mean it is bad. Many critics did praise the album and it is truly a great pop album - one of my favorites of the year. As for Best Vocal Solo performance, If she looses again't Perry I will be very disappointed as the song is almost a plagiarism of Brave, just with immature lyrics. Seriously, comparing that song with Brave - Roar sounds like nursery song, it is all about the rhyme. Brave deserves to win because of the great message it sends that touched many people - because of that I think she has a great chance of wining. If she looses to Bruno, Justin or Lorde, I won't mind, but Katy... That would be very bad.

Shane Filan - You And Me
It truly was! I swear I have NEVER heard him mess up, and I've been a Westlife fan since their third album.

One Direction - Midnight Memories
I saw that LA times review and I find it ridiculous they said that when they clearly mention which songs sound like other artists songs. The album itself as a whole is not bad, but it is a off putting that all the songs do sound like some other bands. By the way, the moment I heard You and I, it reminded me of Heaven by Bryan Adams, I'm glad someone else heard that :)
-
One Direction - Midnight Memories
Yep, all over the place is the best word for this, I agree with you.
-
One Direction - Midnight Memories
I know, that is why I think they should stop doing that. Sure, the fans don't mind, but no wonder general public can't take them seriously and some truly hate them and find them annoying. They don't have their sound really which is weird as boybands in the past have it.
-
One Direction - Midnight Memories
I understand that they want to be more mature, I just wish in the future they don't sound like someone else - they are clearly emulating One Republic, Snow Patrol and 80s rock bands, as well as Mumfurd and Sons in two songs. They still don't have a mature 1D sound, they sound like other artists - the only two songs that they sound mature and truly themselves are Strong and Don't Forget Where You Belong. They should try to be more original next time, especially avoiding using famous rock songs from The Who, Def Leppard or The Clash.
-
One Direction - Midnight Memories
This review made me laugh :D The guy does have a point in a few things - I definitely think the songs like Little White Lies, Alive, and even Does He Know do send wrong messages to their young fans. And yes, I have to agree with him that Little Black Dress just sounds wrong hearing it from 1D and that the growls are very annoying - stop pretending you are this hardcore rockers, it looks ridiculous.
-
One Direction - Midnight Memories
That shouldn't have been an issue because many boybands work with multiple huge songwriters on 1 album, but it is a problem in their case. I think they should avoid in the future having songs sounding like the artist who wrote the song - those 2 songs that Ryan and Gary wrote could easily be on Snow Patrol and One Republic album, it almost sounds like they gave the songs to them, but since one of the boys are credited, maybe Ryan and Gary had a draft of the songs so they just finished the songs with them. The same thing happened with the two songs that Ed Sheeran wrote last year - they sounded too much like Ed. Having songs like that won't attract the public who are not fans, I think they would just find it weird. Listening to the album, it seems they tried too hard to show maturity which kind of looks forced in some parts because they do come back to immature songs. The album is definitely not consistent. Oh and I forgot 1 little thing - "walking around with one shoe" (or something along those lines) is just one WEIRD lyric :D

One Direction - Midnight Memories
They will have a huge promo with 1D day thing, some acts would kill for this - Simon is truly giving them everything, but I think appearing on Doctor Who is really pushing it  It will be embarrassing if they don't get high sales and chart position in UK after everything.
-
One Direction - Midnight Memories
I listened to it to see if they truly progressed like they said. This album is a progression for 1D. The songs have a more rocky sound with guitars and drums, they definitely changed their style and like always is with them because Simon always gives them the best of everything - the production of the album is great. But overall, it is pretty decent album. Having said that, I feel that the album is very jumbled, it is like they don't know what they want. A few tracks have a very glam rock vibe, then there are Mumford and Suns influenced songs , and then there are old 1D vibe songs. It is so obvious that Right Now was written by Ryan Tedder, it completely sounds like One Rupblic song, same as Something Great which sounds like a Snow Patrol song as Gary wrote it. I completely agree that Better Than Words is very obvious in what they are singing about, but I think White Lies is even more upfront - I mean, they say - you are a good girl, but I now that you would (or something like that) - maybe they should skip refrences like this. And before someone starts "oh but they are growing up" - sure, but that doesn't mean you have to sing about sex, you can sound mature without it. This is a decent effort from them, but it wil be interesting to see how the fans will take it - I have seen a few comments where some are not as excited when they read reviews from critics saying similar things. And boy do they hate Louis :D They haven't even heard it, yet they moan that he has more vocals on songs. However, I do agree the boy just CAN'T sing, it is like he is talking, not singng. I don't know why they keep giving him solo parts.
