  1. Yeah, I know it all sold out which is great! Like you said, the song gets better and better on each listen, it is a great summer song to sing along to. Also, I agree it is good departure from Westlife sound. Unfortunately, I can't order the EP, they couldn't take money from my credit card and I don't know why. Also, I find it weird that in selection of the country, they have Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, but not Croatia... I keep wondering when will the EP be available on Amazon or Play.. so far, I haven't seen it. They should definitely do that, maybe it is to early right now... I have seen the video, it looks fun - a really great idea apparently he came up with :) I love the fact he is so involved in everything.
  2. Someone leaked the single. I won't post it here because I'm not sure if I am allowed to. However, the quality isn't perfect so maybe no one would mind. I love it, it is very positive, happy song, but not in annoying way like It's a Beautiful Day from Buble. This could definitely be a hit for him as I think it's very radio friendly, I can see this played constantly on the radios because it has a very summery feel to it. Also. I think it is indeed very personal, I think it is pretty obvious that he is singing about bankruptcy and his family from the lyrics. Also, I don't think anyone can say now he can't write, this is a very good pop song and it is very heartfelt as he is singing from personal experience: If life is like a jiigsaw where would you start you think you've got the picture it's written on your heart You lay out all the pieces one by one but if you stare at it too closely the answer never comes So take a breath cause I need time to figure this all out I got a lost inside I thought I need but I understand now Cause I don't need the sunlight shining on my face and I don't need perfection to have the perfect day just wanna see you happy a smile on your face nothing else matters cause you're everything to me can you tell me where I'm going tell me what comes next cause I know that it's not over haven't even started yet I just wanna get there but I hope it's not too late cause the closer I am getting the more I feel the way let's take a break take our time to figure this all out I got a lost inside I thought I need but I understand now Cause I don't need the sunlight shining on my face and I don't need perfection to have the perfect day just wanna see you happy a smile on your face nothing else matters cause you're everything to me all that I thought I want is not what I really need you're right in front of me I don't need the sunlight shining on my face and I don't need perfection to have the perfect day just wanna see you happy a smile on your face nothing else matters cause you're everything to me
  3. The single will be premiered at 2fm on Tubridy show next Friday. Here is the artwork: https://twitter.com/KiuKiuFeehily/status/35...5025536/photo/1
  4. There are more details of his single on his website: Shane Filan is set to release his brilliant debut solo single on 25th August, on Capitol Records. ‘Everything To Me’ is written by Shane and Nick Atkinson (Gabrielle Aplin), and produced by Grammy award winning producer, Martin Terefe (Jason Mraz, James Morrison, Train). ‘Everything To Me’ is sing-a-long, sunshine tinged pop at its finest, and the sound might come as a surprise to fans – but is sure to delight. The song is featured as the lead track on an EP which includes three other brand new songs, written by Shane. An album will follow later in the year, details to be announced soon. I am incredibly excited to have joined Capitol Records, and being back in the studio in London and Nashville recording new songs has been amazing. Working on solo material is something I had always dreamed of doing, and I’m incredibly happy with the results. ‘Everything To Me’ is a very personal song to me lyrically; it is such an upbeat and optimistic record, perfect for the summer. I can’t wait for people to hear it!” Tracklisting: 1. Everything To Me 2. Everytime 3. Today’s Not Yesterday 4. Once Also, it turns out that if you buy the single from his website, they ship it worldwide. I think this will definitely help with his sales: http://store.digitalstores.co.uk/sha...0#.UdaGAzuJV8B Maybe I will buy it as well if it is really worldwide. 3 pounds is not expensive and you get 4 songs on it. It will be great if they sell the album in this way.
  5. Nice video. However, I do wonder if Youtube will censor this just like they did with Blurred Lines.

Here is a interesting article in The Mirror that mentions that while he is in US, Shane will also meet up with people there who are going ro help him break the US market: http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrit...stlife-2007852 “His record company have been absolutely great and so supportive – they want to do absolutely everything that is necessary to make this career a success. “The music that they’re working with is just so good, so they are happy to give him a huge budget to make sure the video is absolutely perfect.” He is also expected to have a series of meetings with some of the biggest names in US music while in LA – ahead of a planned push to break America. Also, he has co- written ALL of the songs :yahoo: Here is this part: A source said: “It’s not all pleasure while he’s over in America – there’s lots of hard work that has to be done. “He has to meet a load of big-wigs who are going to help him with plans on breaking the States. “It’s a tough job to do, but everyone thinks that Shane is up to it.” Walsh said: “I’m very optimistic for him because I’ve heard the music. And he’s co-written all the songs. Honestly, he’s going to be huge. “There’s all brand new songs - it’s hits, hits, hits. It’s very American – it’s not like anyone I know. It’s quality.” I'm SO happy to hear everyone is so positive and pleased for his career - it would be amazing if he could break the US - it would certainly be easier now than 2000 when Westlife tried since social media are a great tools now.

I like it. I wasn't very keen on them in the beginning of the X Factor show, but they improved a lot towards the end so I started to enjoy them. However, I just can't stand the way they behave - it is so annoying and girly like you see in all those american teen comedies and because they are trying so hard to be likable, it just looks very fake. Also, they kept going on and on how they are best friends from the 1st show - you just know that is all orchestrated as it is impossible to like each other so much from the get go. And it just annoyed me so much when they decided to thank God on the show - I respect religion, but everyone knows this was done to get votes and "awwww" from the public. This is just my opinion, don't hate me please  Once again, I really like the 1st single.

Yep, I'm also very happy about thew Q&A, he gave us a lot of info. Yes, I think his birthday is July 5th so we will hear it very soon! I'm also very intrigued about pop/folk thing, he will be different than most pop stars out there then which is good. But honestly, like you, I'm just happy that the 1st single won't be a ballad, thats so great :)

Relevant things Shane shared on Twitter are: We can expect a bit different style - it's pop mixed with folk What inspired Shane's 1st single: wife, kids and fans - we will understand it when we hear it. The first single is not a ballad. We will hear it in early July, he says his birthday might be a good day. He will do a radio tour around July. He can't tell us the name of the single yet, but it contains 3 words. The single will be released in August, he will reveal the date very soon He will shoot the video in LA, week after next. He will do another Q&A next month. Also, AskShane was trending at no.1 worldwide for the last hour that he has been answering questions.

I agree on this wholeheartedly. There is no reason to compare them as they are quite different. Also, 1D are extremely lucky that Simon is supporting them and that the media track their every move - Union J don't have that kind of support so it ridiculous to even assume they will have the same success.

I mean, listen to this acoustic version, no one messed anything up and it is very good. Jaymi once again shows he is a strong vocalist:

Well, you can go that far if you watched them on X Factor- even from the X Factor performances, they were far better vocally than 1D who were all over the place. So, it can be said even now that Union J are indeed better vocalists than 1D - imagine how great they will be after more experience.

Maybe you are right, but I have to say it seems Walks Like Rihanna was truly done on an off day as it is probably one of the worst songs I have heard in a while - Carry You is better than that song. But I agree, there is definitely something missing in Carry You, it doesn't have a quality for strong debut single. So, I'm not surprised it got to no. 6. I still wish the boys success though and I am interested in their album.

Shane posted new lyrics on Instagram: If life was like a jigsaw, where would you start You think you got the picture like it's written on your heart These are really good, I'm looking forward on hearing the song.

Shane posted on his Facebook a series of photos that show him recording in Stockholm: As you know I'm currently working on my debut solo album, here's a behind the scenes look exclusive to my Facebook friends to show you what I've been up to in the studio. Can't wait for you all to hear it! Happy #FilanFriday x https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.4...5032&type=1
  18. Justin revealed the release date recently - it is 30th of September, on my birthday
  19. Dated production, really? I think Timbaland has done a brilliant job and the production is the strongest point of the album. The only thing I dislike are weak and repetitive lyrics in some of the songs.
  20. I agree. I listened to her debut single - with the mixture of country and Avril/Kelly vibe, she could be successful if the whole album will be like that.

Shane has updated his website and also posted a new blog: Hi guys. Since my last update I’ve been finishing off my album and its nearly done now I was back where it all started recently in Rokstone Studios writing with Steve Mac and Wayne Hector which was great fun. I just got back from Stockholm where I did some writing sessions, which brought back alot of great memories. Stockholm is such a beautiful city, I can’t wait to go back there and the rest of scandanavia to promote my album. Very exciting news that I’m doing my very first video in LA in a couple of weeks time. It’s still hard to believe I’m doing my own video. No better place to start than in Hollywood. I’ve come up with really good ideas for the video and we’ve picked an amazing director to shoot it. It’s gonna be great. It’s only a matter of weeks until you get to hear my first single on the radio. To say I cannot wait is an understatement. I’m looking forward to visiting lots of radio stations around the country. The dates and cities will be posted here very soon. I can’t thank you all enough for the love and support you have all shown me. You never cease to amaze me. My new website is launched today and I’ll be keeping you all up to date here with all my news. Hope you like it. I’ll see you all very soon. Shane. Also, he was an hour late this time so it was funny to read fan's frustration about it - thanks to that, FilanFriday was trending at no. 6 in the UK :)
  22. I think Jahmene is with Sony Music, not with Syco. But I agree, Fix You was covered to death by X Factor contestants :D
  23. According to Amazon, here is the tracklist: 1. Fix You 2. The Greatest Love - Jahméne Douglas feat. Nicole Scherzinger 3. His Eye On the Sparrow 4. Halo 5. Forever Young 6. Give Us This Day 7. In the Arms of the Angel 8. Titanium 9. I Look to You 10. Next to Me I'm so disappointed it is mostly a cover album, looking at titles - the only original song is probably Give Us This Day as that doesn't sound familiar. I was really looking forward to hear his songs, not covers...
  24. Ok, I agree, a pop band, but they definitely are not a boyband. Although, Maroon 5's first album was more rockish. I just love the fact that Adam stated once how they are not ashamed to admit they do make pop and that they are a pop band. I just hope for Lawson they do have various songs on the album, unlike their debut where every song sounded the same.
  25. I just don't get why many people classify them as a boyband.. They write their own songs, sing pop/rock songs. If they are a boyband, then Maroon 5 can be classified as one if you listen to Overexposed album. To me, Lawson are a pop/rock band.
