Jeremy Marsh, head of Rhino UK and East West Records, added: “Westlife are one of the most popular and commercially successful boy bands of all time, and we’re thrilled to be working with them to share their new music– their fans are going to be blown away by what’s coming! At East West, we believe we can find new and interesting spaces for them, and we already have a lot of ideas in full swing. It’s also great to be reunited with Sonny Takhar and to be working together again after 20 years!” Source: https://www.musicweek.com/labels/read/westl...-in-2021/082851

I think it could be. I mean, why not, announce new single on Monday and release it by Friday. One thing I doubt they will talk about is the tour because who knows if they will even have one.

It could just be there will be two guests on the show and he is joking about that but we will see on Monday.

Not sure but regardless, it doesn't matter now because if they actually continue with the tour the concerts will be under strict rules -no way 90K people will be able to go together. I still think they will postpone the tour eventually.

Yeah, it would be great if they squeeze in 2 singles before the album release like last time. I am excited to see what kind of sound they chose. will it be more of the same like Spectrum or whether they are willing to be a bit more creative.

Yes, he was from Iran. Last time we spoke was on September 8th, he sounded ok. So imagine my shock mid-December when his father contacted me via Navid's Viber to let me know he passed away 3 months ago, which means he must have passed away shortly after we last talked. He hadn't wished me happy birthday on the 30th which is something he never missed so I presume he was already gone. It was something with his liver, the surgery was unsuccessful. He loved Westlife so much but he didn't blindly love everything they did which was great, we had many debates over them. He was thrilled when he saw them live for the first time, being their fan from the very beginning.

It would be great if they could release 2 singles before the album. In any case, its great to talk about Westlife again but I can't help but feel sad at the same time because I can't share it with my friend. You might remember Navid from this thread, he was disappointed by Spectrum. He died last September, he was just 35. Westlife brought us together, we have been in contact for 9 years. I am glad he managed to make his dream come true and see the boys live in Dubai.

I definitely wouldn't call it disaster, no matter what anyone thinks of HML, the song had longetivity and the album had 3 singles which is more than what they had in the last few years.

I guess it is possible they have been dropped by poor sales but at the same time, Hello My Love was a decent hit and the tour have sold well so I kind of doubt label would cut them just because the album didn't sell to their expectations. Also, I will believe in world tour when I see the dates. So many times they have painted UK/Ireland tour as a world tour. I also have a feeling they will postpone the tour like everyone is these days.

  17. I actually meant their DVDs but I guess for DVDs in general the achievement is impressive.
  18. Yeah this is pretty impressive for their standars nowadays. I see they are also again no.1 in the DVD chart. I don't remember any DVD being so long at no.1 before.

Right, I forgot about Dynamite music video. That is exactly my point, they don't need to do chaotic schedule anymore, they have nothing to prove nor do they owe us anything. They were obviously recording something before the pandemic, we saw pics of Nicky and Mark in the studio but everything stopped, both music and movie industry. Plus, even if they start recording now, they could release it by the end of the year/early next year. It is known they recorded both Where We Are and Gravity in between July and October.

I mean, you have the right to feel what you want but I think its pretty obvious they are happy to be back. If you watch the DVD you can see they are genuinely thrilled to perform again. Of course they also did it for the money, like every boyband out there. But they had many offers over the years that they refused so money clearly wasn't the main trigger. Them not liking every song is simply realistic, every artist wishes they haven't recorded some songs, that is nothing new. Its better that they are honest than that they lie. However I am not even sure which songs are you talking about - the only song I remember them mentioning is Tunnel of Love and The Rose. Them being disappointed by constant covers Simon shoved down their throats is also understandable and nothing new. They released 3 singles, they would have probably released more if situation was different. The album had all original material and they planned a tour. How is that not wanting to continue Westlife and enjoying it? I really don't know.

Why do you think that? They don't give that vibe at all. So what if they are less visible on social media, they have the right to take a break.

Mark mentioned they might be discussing about recording mudic while they are waiting for tour to start: https://www.irishmirror.ie/showbiz/irish-sh...normal-22461721

No reason to think that. Barely anyone is releasing anyrhing these days. If anything, this can only make them more eager to get back to Westlife, there is just no reason why they should split.

Billboard is doing a poll on favorite boyband album. Westlife are at #6 right now which is good considering they are only behind K-pop and One Direction albums: https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/..._source=twitter

Its not Westlife related but there is nothing going on anyway with the boys so I will post this here. I still think Boyzlife thing is weird but I have to say their debut album Strings Attached is not that bad. I mean, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra did great arrangements and Brian sounds good as well, so Keith's trying to sing is tolerable. I don't know why they couldn't release 10 songs so there were 5 Boyzone and Westlife songs though. I am surprised they are actually #6 on iTunes at the moment. I know it means nothing today but I honestly thought they wouldn't even chart anywhere.
