I have to admit I used to really dislike them until "Issues" and I bought the album and it's pretty awesome, I even like the first two singles now. "Chasing Lights" [the song] is :heart: glad the album is doing well!

I think they deserve a lot more recognition than they get. They're passed off as some fake dykes, but there music is pretty awesome. It's dark, but in a commercial way, which is pretty hard to achieve without coming across either as cheesy or OTT.

Really I think trhere's just a lot of poor material. I haven't bough a single UK/US album this year, for the fact that it's all just $hit.

I heard her for the first time today, and she's pretty okay. Though i'd say half her album is pretty c**p, whilst the other is awesome. But ehhh.

I think people are under-estimating this. #2 at the very least!

It's possible to tone down the dancing and sing live, you don't need to choose one over the other. Besides, if they were truly good they'd be able to do both.

Oh I wasn't justifying the Japanese control of Korea by any means, I just meant that they did bring the country into the modern era. Without it, Korea may well have ended up becomcing an annex of China after the war was over. Though of course it was all for the benefit of the Japanese and they ruined Korean culture, and still today there are bitter relations between the two countries. Also, i'm not condoning the Japanese refusal to admit to using military prostitutes, however, I understand why they don't want to. Japan is a very different country to Germany in all aspects, i don't think it should be expected for them to act the same way post-war. Whether that's right or wrong though is for each individual to make their own decision.

It's because of two reasons. One is that they don't want to look weak as a country, as that would severely harm national moral. Secondly is that they don't want to risk the consequences that come with owning up to the truth. They still refuse to admit that during their domination of Korea during the war, many Korean women were used as military prostitutes, for fear of being sued by a lot of families. The thing is though, that the "union" standing up for these women has claimed that nothing more is wanted than an apology, yet they still refuse to admit it. I think their attempt to dominate various territories is admirable. Korea wouldn't be the country that it is today without the protectorate [before 1910 their were no roads, the upper classes refused to move away from the Hanja to the Hangul writing system, Confucianism dominated all matters etc.] of course the Japanese changed all this for their own benefit, and obviously it was not in many ways good for the peninsula, but the Japanese domination over it set it up for a brief takeover by both Russia and the U.S, who initially took up the responsiblity of looking after Korea since they believed that without the guidance of Japan after the war, it would easily fall back into its backward ways. Though I don't by any means completely believe that what the Japanese was right. they destroyed the 900 year Choson dynasty and basically destroyed all aspects of Korean culture. Though enough with history and back to your original point, it's just the Japanese way really. I doubt they'll ever admit to their wartime atrocities.

I think it needs to stay relevant, for the sake of the country at least. the day we forget the horrors which passed is the day that we allow ourselves to repat history. Though my university didn't even have a silence, we just carried on with grammar. [although my teacher is Japanese, maybe she doesn't want to celebrate :lol: ]

Lol the lyrics are so awesome! Only a non-native speaker could come up with it. "Like i've become some kind of demon in the night, you look so tasty I could eat you up alive." :heart: Her English is realy good as well, especially comparing her to most other Asian singers. She's been on/off learning it since c. 2003 but more intensively over the last year.

I'm really happy with the fact that a lot of people like this song, hopefully it's a sizeable hit. Her English album is planned for next year, promotion starts next week. Gooooo BoA!

McCain // Palin

Just because I don't live in America doesn't mean i'm not allowed to have an opinion on the elction, especially considering the US president is in effect the most powerful man on earth. No it isn't a problem for me, though me saying I prefer McCain obviously out some sort of "OMG WTF" out of you.. what's so wrong about prefering the Republican candidate? You implied that I didn't know what the candidates stood for, which I obviously do, otherwise I wouldn't have come to a rational conclusion. And I never called ~you~ a sheep, I was refering to the fact that many people are all "Omg OBamA is Lyk AMAze!1!!" when they obviously have no clue and are just saying it because a couple of celebrities have put their weight behind him. So yeah ~
