McFly: We don't get enough credit"
Well their label must be pretty happy with the income they're getting from all the other areas then, eh? :) This thread is so petty, this forum seems to have a bias against them no matter what they do. I don't like them that much, but they sure as hell don't deserve half the c*ap some of you on here waste your time dishing out

McFly: We don't get enough credit"
as is your reply D: I wasn't actually attacking Sugababes. I was saying that although they have big album sales, they never really sell out huge arenas unlike GA, who have low album sales. This was to show that not every artist can have big sales and tours which the person I was talking to didn't seem to understand, and neither did they understand that just because McFly may not be able to have the best of both worlds, doesn't mean they are going to be dropped, and neither are sugababes/GA

Utada Hikaru
Congratulations to Hikki on her 10th year in the music industry!!! :D Also it's announced new single HEART STATION/Stay Gold on Feb 20th, the new Japanese album confirmed for the Spring, and SG has already reached #1 on Chaku-Uta! :D :D

Booty Luv - Boogie 2Nite **OUT NOW**
It should go easy top 20. Not only is it a great song, but it's also the quietest chart week of the year

Diddy or Timbaland
Timbaland has become very over-rated lately. Consdiering he has been producing for people since the early 1990's, it's a wonder why he is only getting widespread recognition now. All his songs now sound much and much alike, wheras in his earlier years everything soudned so different and fresh ie his work with Missy Elliott. Diddy however has never been a great rapper, but never a great producer either. Where he shines is his mind for business, and he uses his celebrity to promote that.

Did Any Of Jamelia Songs Deserve To Flop?
I never really got the fuss about that either tbh, although it is a good song

McFly: We don't get enough credit"
Some artists can't do both but it doesn't matter. Girls Aloud can barely sell their albums but they have huge arena tours, wheras the sugababes have conistantly huge album sales, yet can't sell out small/medium sized venues. Would you say either of them are in danger of being dropped? Billie Piper was from a different climate to what the industry is. Only Mika this year has made a profit on his album for his record label, but I don't see the labels reaching out to drop every artist, do you? The fact they are able to sell out arena's isn't pure luck, they've managed to build up a positive reputation as a great live act, not to mention their fanbase. I mean obviously album sales matter, but there are many other ways to make a profit on artists, especially considering the shrinking size of the industry. From tours, to merchandise to plenty of other things, they make more profit than album sales.

McFly: We don't get enough credit"
Oh yes, i'm sure they'd be dropped with their nation wide sellout arena tours, which are the most profitable part of releasing music  They release decent, catchy pop songs. God forbid they try out different types of promotion! :o and plenty of acts have first week heavy sales then drop fast, lots of indie/rock bands are similar.

2008 In Music
The most exciting prospect for me in 2008 is the two new albums from Utada Hikaru. One is her new Japanese album which is obviously going to be ~super huge~ as it has one the biggest selling digital single in world history, plus the huuge Beautiful World/Kiss & Cry EP, the new CM song 'Stay Gold' ....and possibly 'Boku wa Kuma' The other one is her new English language album, which will be very interesting to hear. It didn't do too well, so it should be interesting if this blows up or follows 'Exodus' down the same path.. Looking forward from established acts: - BoA and her untitled new album. Also, I hear she is making a Korean comeback. - Ayumi Hamasaki releases her new album on 01/01/08. Can she reclaim the crown of the music industry? - Koda Kumi releases her new album, but she'll be whoring up the charts as usual - Ami Suzuki should deliver a really good album; FREE FREE/SUPER MUSIC MAKER and Potential Break Up Song were all class. - The Brilliant Green! <333 I've been waiting so long for the BEST, and rumours of a new studio album *dies* - Arashi should deliver another solid album hopefully. ~It'll also be interesting to see how Momusu compare to Berryz and *C-ute, whether Goto Maki returns and how Tsuji will be welcomed after her pregnancy~ non-established acts - Nakanomori BAND have super impressed me with their last two albums, and this looks to follow suit - Alan has amazed many people with A$h!ta e no Sanka and her beyond amazing voice, but can she keep momentum, or end up the JYONGRI of 2008? There is so much I have forgotten most probably, but this is off the top of my head

Similarly, last year Kokoro did the same but in the singles chart. Oda sold 175,970 selling more than double of the #2 by RIP SLYME. Laruku slip to #3 in their second week and Wat make an impressive top five entry with 'WaT Collection' a collection of singles, BSides and new songs. They have previously had one album, although one half of the duo Teppei Koike enjoyed solo success earlier in the year. TOKIO make #1 with less than stellar sales. Perhaps the two most interesting artists in this weeks chart sit at #6 and #7 respectively. Last week we saw Morning Musume have the lowest first week position and sales of their ten year career. This week however, the fortunes seem to be reversed for H!P kids group Berryz Koubou who not only have their biggest first weeks [which also makes it their biggest selling single to date] but they also managed to outsell the first week of Momusu's 'Mikan.' Then at #7 we have ERIKA. Her new single opens up with less than half the sales her last single [and #1] had. This could be caused by the mass negative publicity surrounding her and her bad attitude. Mai Kuraki has a somewhat unexpectedly low position at #9 and KOH+ round out the top 10.

Wtf @ Spice Girls O.o And none of them; Girls Aloud are awful in general, Leona bores me and T2/Spice Girls are dirge. I actually don't midn the Kylie song, it go down as the third song I like by her.
