Favourite: Namie Amuro - PLAY Well it isn't really pop, but it is hip-pop [she is the self proclaimed Queen of Hip Pop xD.] Anyway, the album just oozes absolute quality, easily one of the best albums of the decade. It's sexy and bold, while at the same time beautiful and meaningful. Some tracks are absolutely hypnotic, and will suck you in and not let go :lol: The production values are stunning, and of course Namie herself is on top form, her voice purring over the tracks, demanding respecting and maintaining control throughout. Everyone must listen, otherwise you will die unhappy D; One of the best albums of her illustrious career, and infinitely superior to the awesome 2005 comeback 'Queen of Hip Pop' Least Favourite: Rihanna - Good Girl Gone Bad Seriusly, wtf is this? It's just awful :lol: so reptitive and boring, while it obviously tries to be something different. There is no personality shown at all, and it instead becomes an album of her producers rather than a Rihanna album. i seriously cannot stand a single track on it. Dirrrge </3.

I think history likes to forget about the Tom Jones album :lol: but when he is on form he can't be beat. Is the album good? I foolishly asked for it for christmas so I have to wait a whole month before I can listen :lol:

Agreed ^ Cerys has been a huge influence on me, Catatonia were one of the bands that got me interested in music. Her solo stuff is great also. 'Never Said Goodbye' was one of my favourite albums of last year, full of great songs. I especially loved 'Ellen'

I really like all three songs. I think when it comes to singles, she always releases a broad range of styles from mainstream [superstar] to the more raw stuff [bout] - it's easy to see why they chose to release them imo. I honestly believe none of them should have flopped :heart:

The 'Around The World in 397 Days' is okay, but too short, it only shows her visit three places, not a patch on the L&OTR documentary. In contrast, the PD documentary is amazing, a real eye opener. Although Shakira doesn't feature much apart from the beginning and end, you get a real feeling of what she's trying to achieve, and see just how awful the living conditions are in the poorest areas.

I agree with Kelly: There albums have never charted that well, and never really sold that amazingly. Considering this hasn't had a major hit single, i wouldn't hold much hope of it. I think it will chart between 7-13. It isn't a patch on 'Chemistry' anyway. it's like Koda Kumi and hitomi furuya had a r*tard child [in the musical sense :lol: ]

It's true though, if they want to do it they will, f*ck to any other country that tries to stop them :lol: It is part of the countries pride, something Japan honours and takes very seriously. They've been doing it since C8th, so they're not going to stop now: I personally do disagree with it, especially the use of harpoons. However, I can see why they do it. Unfortunately, the only way I could see it being stopped is if the government puts a ban on selling whale meat for food purposes, as it contains things that can be extremely harmful to pregnant women and growing children. However, since every year they are requesting a license for commercial whale hunting to begin again, that seems ever so unlikely..

Shakira: Live In Miami - The Oral Fixation Tour [DVD]

Came today, I missed school so I could watch it :lol: It is SO amazing! The directing of the DVD is done so well [better than L&OTR] and I really love the lighting and little effects [like the butterflies in Antologia] The songs are performed really well, and her voice sounds really strong. I haven't watched it all yet, but I've watched the main concert, I'll watch the rest later. My favourite performance is PDSB :wub: so good!

That's awful :( I didn't even know that she died. You could always tell she was such a big influence on him though, it is must be so hard for him.
