R.I.P. I Had Some Help after two years of faithful service on the playlist 🫡

They added it to Club Classics a few months ago, but I do agree with Gavin that it’s a bit jarring compared to the usual songs. At the risk of sounding like Sami, I think there are more suitable recent songs from the Heart Dance playlist they could add to Club Classics, like Looking for Me or Afraid to Feel.

Not related to the current playlist, but Heart played In Da Club just before 6pm (evidence - https://onlineradiobox.com/uk/heartuk/playlist/). Never thought we’d hear 50 Cent on Heart (though it is already played on Heart 00s)… The website also says that Dai Dai was played on breakfast today, though that’s most likely just a spot play.

It was played on the breakfast show earlier, but hasn’t any other plays yet, so could be a one-off.

Pretty sure Post Malone is coming up to two years on the playlist now… At least they’ve added a few relatively recent songs (Fever Dream, You’re A Superstar).

Heart don’t tend to playlist many ballads nowadays (bar Lewis Capaldi and the occasional tune like Die with a Smile), so that could be what’s putting them off. At the moment though there aren’t any ballads on the playlist, so if one were to speculate, they might have room to add Sienna if they want to…

Heart played the Mall Grab remix of Just the Way You Are this morning instead of the original version, though I don’t think they’re playing it as a new song as it’s just been the one play so far today.

I don’t think they have, it’ll only be on because of the recent resurgence, it’s more of a Capital tune for Bieber than a Heart one.

I think Hits Radio Dance is meant to be their equivalent of Heart Dance, hence not really playing much new music. Their playlist does seem a bit more contemporary than Heart Dance though, playing stuff like Joel Corry, Tiesto (The Business) and Becky Hill.

Fever Dream just got played on breakfast about an hour ago, not sure if it was just a spot play or if it’s now been added yet though…

Club Song hasn’t been played again since this morning, so it may have just been a one-off. In terms of the next add, I’m expecting Fever Dream to join the playlist soon.

Heart have also added Milky - Just The Way You Are (original version) into general rotation due to the Mall Grab remix.

Sam Fender & Olivia Dean - Rein Me In has been added today. Pretty sure this is the first time Heart has added either artist.

I think Paul Russell’s new song suits Heart’s vibe very well, despite being rap. Very upbeat and the Luther Vandross sample would make it sound familiar to their listeners. Only problem is that it’s not a big song yet (opposite situation to Aperture), if it becomes another hit like Lil Boo Thang, I believe Heart will probably add it.

It also had just one play yesterday, so perhaps they’ve only added it on a lower rotation for now.

They did playlist Azizam when it was originally out.

Heart have added Aperture to the playlist as of today.

I think it’s only recently that Global has mostly dropped Chris Brown from their playlists, as it wasn’t too long ago that stations like Capital Anthems and Heart 00s were still regularly playing his songs.

Bit of a random question, but whilst we’re discussing edits, does anyone know when Heart started playing the full version of Rhythm Is a Dancer with Turbo B’s rap? I’m pretty sure it was always cut out until fairly recently.

I’d imagine they saw the original version as too quick/edgy for Heart, hence slowing it down. They probably wouldn’t have played it at all if it wasn’t for the Gangsta’s Paradise sample.

They actually seem to have quite a few newer songs that Heart aren’t playing, after listening for longer. I’ve also heard Love Me Not, Gabriela, Tears, Eternity and Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else. EDIT: Daisies as well.

Checked out Riviera Radio recently, which Global bought out a few months back. Quite interesting, as whilst it’s been revamped to be similar to Heart (complete with re-sung jingles and power intros), it feels a lot more like the older Heart (when they still played 80s music), with Lionel Richie, Sister Sledge, Madonna etc. being in the mix alongside the newer tunes. They’ve also been playing Gone, Gone, Gone and Manchild, so perhaps this is a sign that they will be added to Heart’s playlist soon, or Riviera may just be taking more risk with their current songs.

They’re probably just using the same version of Blurred Lines that the main Heart used to play back when they were more strict about rapping.

I think they started playing it a few months ago.

Checking Online Radio Box, and I did forget that Heart Xmas and 10s have been playing Santa Tell Me, though the main station hasn’t. I don’t think Heart has ever played Thank U, Next. No Tears Left to Cry has been the first song on Heart’s emergency playlist for quite a few years, so you might have heard it when they’ve had technical problems.
