Promotional/Pre-order 'Instant Grat' singles
You're correct in that "Do What U Want" is Gaga's new single, but it's been been made an instant grat from to Artpop pre-order as opposed to a separate single release. The rules say that only 1 instant grat per album is allowed to chart and as "Applause" was this instant grat, DWUW is not allowed to chart (the same goes for venus). Now "Roar" was available as a separate single and the pre-order from Prism has it's own instant grats; "Dark Horse" was the first instant grat from the album and so charted, however the second ("Walking On Air") didn't chart as the rules didn't allow it. In my opinion, they should do what the US do and allow it chart but then subtract from the overall total IF the buyer chooses to use the "Complete My Album" feature or have pre-ordered the album.

Predict: Lorde - Royals
It made the INMWT list iirc, so you may have just been right-place-right-time to hear it; in the same sense you're just not there to hear Same Love... ----- Lorde is significantly higher than James Arthur on the pre-orders but have a feel James will just beat her :(

Great Songs From 2013 That Failed To Reach The UK Top 75.
Huge song at American pop radio, Capital could have easily playlisted this, it's a shame this didn't take off here :(

Agreed, definitely the better of the two Max Martin/Shellback songs on the album.

90k? Really? She'll easily go above 130k, given the amount of time it's been on pre-order for, I reckon. She's currently around 10 places higher than *Miley was at this time before her release. She sold 128k :drama:

I thought exactly the same thing, but it's actually Greg Kurstin on the production! The verses sound like a Stargate song imo.

Are pre-orders fair?
It makes no difference? Surely it's better... Pre-orders for an EP of a single have been around for ages and worked fine; the single pre-order means you can pre-order for 99p not £1.49-£2.49 making it a good way to cut down on piracy AND boost the sales in the music market simultaneously, I think it's good idea.

I can't help but think 4 weeks is just a bit too long and will result in it not having that much longevity. The release strategy for California Gurls (and all the singles of Teenage Dream for that matter) was spot on!

US Billboard Hot 100 - 08/17/2013
The overall hot 100 points of BL is double that of WCS, should be in for a long run at the summit!

Finally, Zedd makes it in to the top 10! After the 14-14-14-13-13-13-13 run I thought it wouldn't make it! :yahoo: Pleased to see Anna Kendrick still climb and Capital Cities enter!

Songs that massively under-performed
It definitely was OA/OS hence why it completed bombed. I reckon it could have had a much higher peak and a decent chart had it been held back a few weeks prior.
-
Songs that massively under-performed
This was released at that stupid point in 2011 where some record companies switched to OA/OS but still tried to insist on having a big first-week sales figure (The Sats' Notorious managed to make #8 on this basis). BOMD was #10 in the midweeks and fell to #27 on the Sunday then it received next-to-nothing airplay
