Hanson releasing acoustic version of debut album
Only through HANSON.NET... Released on 12th December 2007 http://www.hanson.net/images/data/products/241_sm.jpg On May 6th, 1997 HANSON released their debut album, Middle of Nowhere. The classic rock ‘n’ roll and R&B influences mixed with modern beats and rich harmonies were a sharp contrast to the current state of music, dominated by the Alternative scene. This new sound was a bold introduction to the world and was welcomed by music fans and critics alike. Selling more than 8 million copies, it was lead by the song MmmBop, a #1 hit single in 27 countries. Other singles included Where’s the Love, Weird and I Will Come to You. “Hanson: where music is headed” was the header on promotional copies of the album. That statement may have seemed overreaching, but Middle of Nowhere soon proved worthy of such extraordinary claims. Rolling Stone called it one of the “essential albums of the 90’s” and it was given further recognition through three Grammy nominations. The nominations included record of the year, best new artist, and best pop performance. Isaac, Taylor and Zac were also recognized as the youngest Grammy nominated songwriters of all time. The accolades earned it iconic status among the music of that time – but it was merely the platform for a band committed to its music. May 6th 2007, marking a decade on the global stage and 15 million albums sold, HANSON goes back to basics with the Middle of Nowhere Acoustic recording. The band revisits their iconic debut album and musical origin with a candid live performance before an intimate crowd. This performance was dedicated to the life long fans that have followed HANSON throughout four studio albums and numerous worldwide tours. CD and DVD Track Listings: 1. Mmmbop* 2. Look at You* 3. New HANSON album 'The Walk'
Pop rock band of brothers, Hanson are readying the release of their second independent album The Walk. After hitting the radio hard in the nineties with catchy hits like "MMMBop", "Where's the Love?" and "Weird" the band parted ways with their record company due to creative differences. Eventually the band released their 2004 record Underneath on their own independent record label and it shot to the top of the US Indie charts. Their struggles to release their indie hit became the subject of the upcoming documentary film Strong Enough to Break due out sometime in 2007. The film will also be available on iTunes in installments on their docu-series podcast ,Taking the Walk. The first portion is available right now. Their upcoming album The Walk is due for release in Canada as well as in the rest of North America on May 22 but will hit stores in the UK on April 30 and in Japan on February 21. Along with getting the record first Japan will also get a couple of bonus tracks "In A Way" and "I Am". Here are the tracks the rest of the world will be able to hear: "Intro (Ngi Ne Themba)" "Great Divide" "Been There Before" "Georgia" "Watch Over Me" "Running Man" "Go" "Fire In The Mountain" "One More" "Blue Sky" "Tearing It Down" "Something Going Round" "Your Illusion" "The Walk" http://www.hanson.net http://www.takingthewalk.com/ http://www.cookingvinyl.com/press/d/3381-2/COOKCD398.jpg

HANSON to release exclusive track for World Aids Day
HANSON TO RELEASE INTERNET EXCLUSIVE TRACK FOR WORLD AIDS DAY All proceeds from track will go to HIV Research Unit in Soweto 30th October, London, UK: HANSON announced today that they will be releasing a special internet exclusive track in recognition of World AIDS Day on December 1st. The song, "Great Divide", features a South African children's choir and was recorded on the group's recent trip to Africa. In July, Isaac, Taylor and Zac Hanson traveled to South Africa and Mozambique in an effort to learn more about the issue to see firsthand the devastation of AIDS on the continent and what can be done to join those already working to bring relief to the millions suffering from the disease. The band were accompanied by DocVia, a healthcare technology company based in the band's home town of Tulsa, Oklahoma, who produce mobile technology to connect remote patients with regional medical providers and who donated all of their technology to the Perinatal HIV Research Unit at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto, South Africa (www.hivsa.com). "Our trip to Africa was a personal awakening," says Taylor Hanson. "Our experience there made clear that the fight against AIDS is an urgent cause that requires action whether you're in the ghettos of Soweto or suburbs of America. That is the message we want to help deliver through whatever means we can amass and encourage others to do so as well." The coming track, "Great Divide" is a hopeful yet intense rock anthem that inspires a call to action. Explains Isaac Hanson, "Great Divide is about facing what seem to be insurmountable tasks, and the hunger we all have for a glimpse of hope. When you hear the voices of African kids, singing along to the words 'I find hope' in their native languages, it makes the message of the song that much more poignant and chilling." The track will be released in the UK and across Europe on Monday 27th November by iTunes in an exclusive arrangement and 100% of the revenues derived by the sale of the song will be donated to the Perinatal HIV Unit at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto, South Africa. PHRU co-founder and pediatrician Dr Glenda Gray was excited to receive the news. "It’s amazing to see musicians genuinely committed to understanding the challenges our patients face. Their talent and support are greatly appreciated and will go a long way in helping us prevent mother-to-child HIV transmission in South Africa and around the world." By supporting companies like DocVia and donating their music's proceeds to AIDS relief organizations, the band hopes to encourage other artists and companies to engage in a more active role in the fight against AIDS in Africa. The band are completing a companion music video for the song that contains footage from their trip to Africa that will hopefully serve to increase awareness about the urgent need to confront this issue. Further information on the release of the video will be made available shortly. Hanson were recently praised by New York's Village Voice as "secretly the finest straight up rock band in America" and their documentary film, Strong Enough To Break, was honored last week as an official selection at the Hollywood Film Festival.
